Each of the 24 launch-set Grand Prix courses has five Red Star Rings, according to Gameranx’s course guide. Some rings appear only on lap three, so a route that looks empty earlier may open later. This guide covers those launch-set courses—not rings added in later DLC—and gives precise directions for the opening tracks where the written route details are available.
How to use this launch-set guide
- Find the right race: The walkthrough covers the 24 courses across the eight launch-set Grand Prix cups listed below. The video walkthrough indexes all 24, with timestamps for each course.
- Check lap three: Some rings are tied to a route that opens only on the third lap. The walkthrough video’s course timestamps identify where to look, but do not by themselves establish the exact route.
- Account for course orientation: Gameranx’s directions assume default mode; reverse left-and-right directions in Mirror Mode.
- Repeat pickups if useful: Gameranx says collected rings can be gathered again for additional Donpa Tickets.
- Know the race limitation: Fdaytalk reports that rings do not appear in a Grand Prix’s fourth and final race; this is guide-reported rather than an official rule verified in the sources cited here.
The game is listed for PS4 and PS5 on PlayStation’s US product page. The course coverage below is limited to the launch-set Grand Prix list; it does not establish the locations of any later DLC rings.

Donpa Grand Prix
E-Stadium
- At the start, take the first right. At the next turn, stay near the track’s right side around the corner.
- After the first large jump, pass the Boost Pads on the straight and keep left around the turn.
- At the left turn after that straight, stay left and take the ramp.
- Lap three only: Near the third ring, take the newly available middle route among the ramps, pass through the Travel Ring, and collect the ring on the new route.
- At the final right turn toward the home stretch, stay on the track and use the Boost Pad.
Rainbow Garden
- In the early flying section, head to the right side of the canyon and pass through the Dash Ring.
- After landing, take the right turn and look for the ring at the right side.
- In the cave, take the rightmost Boost Pad.
- After leaving the cave, collect the ring in the middle of the flower bed.
- Lap three only: After landing from the flight section, take the right turn and continue straight onto the newly opened route. The ring is midway along it.
Water Palace
- Stay right at the start and around the first right turn.
- At the left turn beneath the waterfall, stay close to the left wall.
- At the first right turn inside Water Palace, take the ring in the middle of the small jump.
The available written route details establish only these first three Water Palace placements. For the remaining placements, use the Gameranx course entry or the Water Palace segment of the walkthrough rather than treating an incomplete route as a full five-ring list.

Other launch-set courses
The video walkthrough has indexed segments for all 21 courses after the opening Donpa Grand Prix tracks, but the source details available here do not establish their exact ring-by-ring routes. Use the timestamp index above to jump to a course in the video. For disputed placements, verify the route in-game rather than relying on a missing or unconfirmed listing.
In particular, Fdaytalk labels Sand Road ring four and Colorful Mall ring three unconfirmed, and lists only four Blizzard Valley locations. Those are gaps in that guide, not evidence that a ring is absent. Fdaytalk’s list is useful as a cross-check, but its uncertain entries should not be promoted to confirmed routes.

Gameranx’s guide, published September 25, 2025, is the primary written route source for this launch-set guide. Fdaytalk’s September 22, 2025 list provides a second guide with the uncertainties noted above. ChaotixSoda’s September 23, 2025 video indexes all 24 launch-set courses; its description says the walkthrough used Sonic Speed class, available from the start. These are guide sources, not a claim of firsthand testing. The game received a version 1.3.1 update notice from SEGA on March 19, 2026, but that notice does not establish new ring locations; later DLC coverage is therefore outside this guide’s verified scope.
