For a specific recipe, match its item type to the relevant shop, then check your profession certification and quest progress if it is missing. Shops are only one route: blueprints can also come from tutorials, quests, treasure chests, enemy drops and daily letters.
First, know which kind of blueprint you need
In Starsand Island, “blueprint” can mean either a recipe unlock or a saved building design. An item blueprint teaches a craftable item; once learned, it is recorded in Islandpedia, where you can check the required crafting station and materials. A saved Build Mode blueprint preserves an arrangement of structures and decorations so you can reuse the layout. The two serve different purposes.
Building also treats structures and furniture differently: walls, roofs and foundations use raw materials when placed, while furniture must be crafted at a Worktable. The fan building guide describes Build Mode views for structural placement, furnishing and close-up detail work, as well as a Blueprint Library for saved designs.
Where to look for item blueprints
The shop inventory below is a community-maintained guide to likely vendors and categories, not an official guarantee of current stock. The inventory page displays an update date of Jun 10 but no year, so check the vendor in-game before relying on a particular item or price. The community blueprint guide lists these shop associations:

The interactive map marks Starsand Town as the main commercial and social center, and identifies Hopeland as the starter property. It also locates the Happiness Seed Shop, AquaBlue Outpost and Exploration Club. Its PC data is stated as verified for build 1.09.5664 and reviewed on 2026-09-04; that is a useful map reference, not confirmation that shop inventories have stayed unchanged since then.
Other ways to unlock a blueprint
If a blueprint is not for sale, it may be tied to another activity. The community blueprint guide lists six acquisition routes:
- Tutorial rewards: examples include basic tools and Worktable I.
- Vendor purchases: check the shop aligned with the item’s profession or category.
- Quest rewards: examples in the guide include a Trellis from the Apprentice Farmer chain and a Golden Slingshot from a named quest.
- Treasure chests: some blueprints are described as unique and unavailable in shops.
- Enemy drops: the guide lists several items from enemies.
- Daily letters: bait, feed and fertilizer blueprints are among its examples.
Those named examples come from a community reference and may not reflect every current patch. If you have checked the likely shop and cannot find a recipe, consider whether it is a quest, chest, drop or mail reward instead.
Why a shop may not show the recipe
Many vendor blueprints are gated by profession certification. The guide lists five tiers—Apprentice, Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Expert—across Farming, Crafting, Ranching, Exploring and Angling. If a vendor does not offer the expected recipe, check the relevant profession’s tier and any associated quest progression before assuming the item is unavailable.

Certification is not the only possible gate: a blueprint reported as chest-exclusive will not be solved by repeatedly checking a shop. Once you learn a recipe, use Islandpedia to confirm its crafting station and material requirements.
