Nintendo Life’s May 11, 2026 guide reports four Simple Keys in Hollow Knight: Silksong: one each in Bone Bottom, Sinner’s Road, Songclave, and Sands of Karak. There are also four reported locks. If you want the clearest story-related payoff, the guide recommends spending an early key on the Green Prince’s cell in Sinner’s Road.
Where to find all four Simple Keys
The locations and routes below follow Nintendo Life’s May 11, 2026 guide. Rosaries are the in-game currency used for the vendor purchases.

Bone Bottom: buy one from Pebb
Once Pebb’s store is open, buy a Simple Key there for 500 Rosaries.

Sinner’s Road: defeat the Roachkeeper
From the broken bench and Shakra area, make your way to the high corridor and take its east branch. Climb the tall room and defeat the Roachkeeper; the guide says the enemy drops a Simple Key.

Songclave: buy one from Jubilana
Complete the Wandering Merchant Wish to open Jubilana’s store outside the First Shrine. A Simple Key is listed for sale, but the price is disputed: Nintendo Life lists 750 Rosaries, while Silksong.codes’ September 10, 2025 guide lists 650. Check the in-game shop for its current price rather than relying on either figure.

Sands of Karak: find one by a bench
The key is at the sole bench before the boss, according to Nintendo Life. The guide says you need Clawline and Double Jump to reach it: approach via the Great Conchflies area in Blasted Steps, then head east through a breakable wall to the bench.

Where the four Simple Keys are used
Nintendo Life reports four locks. Their locations and the practical reason to consider each are:

| Wormways entrance | Above Bone Bottom, reached from the grassy area outside Mosshome | Opens the route into Wormways. |
| Green Prince’s cell | An early room in Sinner’s Road | Freeing him is an optional rescue with a reported connection to an optional Act 3 boss fight. |
| Deep Docks door | Below the Forge Daughter’s store | Opens another route or area. The guide recommends having Cling Grip, Clawline, and Double Jump before opening this route. |
| High Halls door | Near Ventrica station and a bench | Opens a door in a late-game region. |
Which lock should you open first?
If you have only one key to spend and want the reported story payoff, prioritize the Green Prince’s cell. That is Nintendo Life’s recommendation because of the cell’s connection to optional Act 3 content; it is not a game rule or a requirement for every player.

For exploration, choose based on where you are trying to go: consider the Wormways entrance if you want to enter that area, or the Deep Docks door if you are prepared for the route and have the recommended movement abilities. The High Halls door is in a late-game region, so it is a choice for a later stage of your journey.
