There are 14 functioning main stables and two mini stables in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, using a count that excludes the former stable now occupied by the Lucky Clover Gazette. Below is a region-by-region list of all 16 active horse stops, with nearby landmarks and the key access details for the mini stables.
How many stables are there in TotK?
For a practical count of active horse services, Tears of the Kingdom has 14 full stables and two mini stables. Published guides differ because they classify some horse-related locations differently: Gamer Guides lists the Lucky Clover Gazette among stable entries even though it says the building no longer offers horse storage or lodging, while Nintendo Life includes Hateno Pasture in its location list. This guide keeps the 14 functioning full stables separate from the two mini stables, and treats the Gazette and Hateno Pasture as related locations rather than silently adding them to the total. The 2023 guides by Gamer Guides, Nintendo Life and PowerPyx use different counting conventions.
Where are all the stables in Tears of the Kingdom?

Where are the mini stables?
Mini stables provide horse services without the lodging available at full stables. Neither location has a bed for resting.

Does Lucky Clover Gazette count as a stable?
No—not as an active stable. The building outside Rito Village was formerly a stable and still has a horse-head sign, but it now serves as the Lucky Clover Gazette headquarters. Gamer Guides says it no longer offers horse storage or overnight stays. It is instead a quest hub for Potential Princess Sightings! Nintendo’s official beginner guide also names the Gazette and Woodland Stable as places to explore along Hyrule’s roads.
What about Hateno Pasture?
Hateno Pasture is a distinct horse-related facility that appears in Nintendo Life’s locations list. Guides do not all use the same scope when counting stables, so it is best treated separately from the 14 functioning main stables and two mini stables listed above rather than added to that total without explanation.

What can you do at a stable?
Full stables serve as horse and travel hubs. Their services include registering, boarding, retrieving and customizing horses, as well as resting, speaking with vendors or quest-giving characters, and earning Pony Points. PowerPyx notes that a horse boarded at one stable can be retrieved from other stables, so boarding it does not tie it to a single location. The two mini stables offer a narrower set of horse services and no lodging.
