As of October 7, 2026, swords are not available in Path of Exile 2. The game’s indexed reference describes swords as an unreleased weapon class, with one-handed and two-handed forms. A report says swords are planned for the game’s 1.0 release, dated December 11, 2026, but that is future timing—not confirmation that swords are playable now.
Are swords available in Path of Exile 2?
No, according to the Path of Exile 2 wiki’s sword-class page, which describes the class as unreleased and unavailable. That status is a snapshot, not a guarantee about later builds: check current in-game information or an official Grinding Gear Games announcement for changes after October 7, 2026. The Path of Exile 2 reference divides swords into one-handed and two-handed varieties. It characterizes them as melee weapons requiring Strength and Dexterity. Which sword base types are listed?
The wiki maintains a separate list of sword base types, including one-handed examples such as Sickle Sword and Falchion. Consult its current table for the full list and individual values: the reference is changing, and its indexed information does not establish which bases will ship in a future release. Don’t mix up Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2 swords
Path of Exile, the original game, has its own sword data on Grinding Gear Games’ item-data site. That list is not a roster for Path of Exile 2: the games are separate, and names or weapon categories from the original should not be treated as proof of what is available in the sequel.
