To complete the Totem of Defiance in Avowed’s Emerald Stair, collect its base and six fragments, then assemble them at camp. The set is called The Schemer’s Offering; its base is at the Shrine to Skaen in Delemgan Glade, and the six fragments are spread across the region. This guide lists each location and the access details most likely to save backtracking.
What you need to collect
The Schemer’s Offering consists of one base and six fragments. You need the base to assemble the totem at camp. The fragment names are Sacrificial Dagger, Idol of Covert Plots, Idol of Secret Hatred, Idol of Violent Rebellion, Obsidian Prayer Beads, and Effigy Necklace.
Base: The Schemer’s Offering
Go to the Shrine to Skaen in Delemgan Glade, in northwest Emerald Stair. The base is at the top of the shrine. Start from the ledge on its east side and climb the platforms along the upward route.
Sacrificial Dagger
Search the Abandoned Farms north of Fior mes Iverno. The dagger is attached to a building in the farm area and pins a note. Accounts differ on whether it is lodged in a door or on the north side of the northeastern building, so inspect the structures around the farm rather than searching for only one exact surface.

Idol of Covert Plots
In the Grim Wetlands, northwest of Sunken Village, find the locked church-like building. Look for a statue with a lantern nearby and interact with the concealed switch to open a side entrance. You can also approach the building from the surrounding elevated terrain and reach a broken section of roof from a ledge on the west side.
Idol of Secret Hatred
Enter the Ancient Grotto near Naku Tedek Grounds and explore the lower cave area near the river entrance. Look around the corpse of Maxim Vidarro and the nearby ledge and tunnel; the fragment is by a skeleton in this part of the grotto.

Idol of Violent Rebellion
Climb to the top of Ranger Headquarters, east of Fior mes Iverno. A route from Rolling Crags Beacon uses a ladder and platforms to reach the upper structure, where the fragment is located.
Obsidian Prayer Beads
In the far west of Delemgan Glade, reach the elevated ruin platform. From the courtyard, climb over the rocks and follow the tree root to the higher level, then jump across to the structure holding the fragment.

Effigy Necklace
Find this fragment in the Naku Tedek quest tunnels during Ancient Soil. The route involves an electric switch and a water crossing. Use an ice spell or create an ice platform to cross. If you passed it during the quest, the area can be revisited.

If you would rather use in-game guidance than check each location manually, buy the journal item called “Fragments of the Offering” from Lluisa Melcer at the Farmer’s Market. PC Gamer lists its price as 500 coins; another guide identifies the currency as Skeyt, so check the current in-game listing for the displayed amount and currency. The item provides hints for the remaining pieces.

You can also enable Compass – God Shrine Totem Pieces in the UI settings to show fragment markers on the radar. Use either aid alongside the location list when narrowing down a piece you have not found.
What the completed totem does
The assembled set grants six passive benefits. The reported effects cover survivability, attributes, stealth damage, tougher enemies, poison, and retaliation:
- Second Wind casts Flurry of Blows.
- +2 Constitution and +2 Dexterity.
- Bonus damage against unaware enemies.
- Increased damage against enemies marked with a skull.
- Critical hits apply high Poison Accumulation.
- After you take damage, your next attack within 10 seconds adds damage equal to 20% of the damage received. This effect can stack with Retribution.
Effect names and descriptions vary slightly between published guides; check the assembled totem’s in-game description for the exact wording shown in your version.
