All Ultimate Selection runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 with NeoForge. To host it successfully, install the dedicated server pack that matches the client’s exact pack release, Minecraft version, and NeoForge build. The pack is unusually large—TheWizard describes it as “450+ mods”—so provider guidance commonly starts at 10GB of RAM for a small group, with more headroom needed for busy worlds, long view distances, automation, and heavy exploration.
Running a modpack with friends? Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks (CurseForge, FTB, Technic) and free DDoS protection.
The latest release observed on CurseForge was All Ultimate Selection MC 1.21.1-2.0.0, uploaded September 28, 2026, with a matching server-pack release. Do not pair that client with an older server archive unless the project’s release notes explicitly confirm compatibility.

What All Ultimate Selection is
All Ultimate Selection is a large, kitchen-sink Minecraft modpack for NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. Its project categories include exploration, multiplayer, quests, extra-large, and vanilla-plus. The intended experience combines several normally separate styles of play:
- Create-based automation and factory building
- Technology, storage, farming, and quality-of-life systems
- RPG progression, combat, magic, dungeons, bosses, and dimensions
- New biomes, structures, exploration content, and building tools
The project owner, TheWizard, describes the pack as: “450+ mods. Tech, Create, RPG, Magic, Exploration, Dimensions & much more. Everything in one modpack.” That is the author’s current description, not an independently audited mod count. CurseForge’s files index showed 3,112 project downloads on the page state observed September 28, 2026.
#1 Best Overall
- DELUXE COLLECTION — Includes Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition, three Bedrock add-ons, three exclusive Character Creator items, and 700 Minecoins.
- CREATE YOUR WORLD — Build whatever you imagine in an infinite world that’s unique in every playthrough.
- EXPLORE AND CRAFT — Discover biomes, resources, and mobs, then craft your way through a sandbox world filled with surprises.
- SURVIVE THE ADVENTURE — Face mysterious foes, travel across exciting landscapes, and venture into perilous dimensions.
- PLAY TOGETHER — Play cross-platform with friends in Bedrock Edition on console, mobile, and PC, or join community servers in Java Edition on PC, Mac, and Linux. Online console multiplayer requires a platform-specific subscription (sold separately).
A server administrator should treat this as a high-load pack rather than a lightly modded survival installation. World generation, chunk loading, machines, entities, dimensions, and several players exploring at once can all affect performance.
Version and file matching
Every player and the server must agree on three things:
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
- The All Ultimate Selection release, such as 2.0.0.
- Minecraft 1.21.1.
- The NeoForge loader combination supplied for that release.
CurseForge provides separate client and dedicated server-pack artifacts. Download the server pack for the same release selected in the launcher. A client ZIP and a server ZIP are not interchangeable: the server archive contains the files and startup structure needed for dedicated hosting, while the client archive is intended for a player installation.
| Item | Value established for All Ultimate Selection |
|---|---|
| Target Minecraft version | 1.21.1 |
| Mod loader | NeoForge |
| Latest observed release | MC 1.21.1-2.0.0, uploaded September 28, 2026 |
| Dedicated server artifact | A matching server-pack release is provided |
| Earlier client archive | 7.1 MB for version 1.4.0, uploaded August 30, 2026 |
| Earlier server archive | 1.3 GB for version 1.4.0, uploaded August 30, 2026 |
The large difference between the older 7.1MB client ZIP and 1.3GB server ZIP is not a typo: server packs commonly bundle libraries, configuration, and launch files that are not present in a small client distribution. The exact size of the newer 2.0.0 server archive should be checked on its current files page rather than inferred from version 1.4.0.
Choose managed hosting or self-hosting
Managed hosting is the shorter route when you want a control panel, automated installation, and provider support. Self-hosting gives you control over the machine, storage, backups, and migration, but you are responsible for the operating system, firewall, Java runtime, loader launch, updates, and recovery.

| Decision point | Managed hosting | Self-hosting |
|---|---|---|
| Initial setup | Pack and version are selected in a provider panel; installation may be one click | Download the matching server pack, extract it, prepare the runtime, and launch it yourself |
| Version control | Panel usually exposes supported pack versions; verify the selected release before installation | You choose the archive and must enforce an exact client/server match |
| RAM and CPU | Upgrade tiers make additional headroom straightforward | You select and maintain the hardware allocation |
| Backups and migration | Depends on the provider’s backup policy and export tools | You must schedule, test, and store backups independently |
| Updates | Some panels expose pack updates through an Addons or installation menu | You must stage the new server pack and migrate the world and configuration safely |
| Network and latency | Choose an available data-center location | Your home or rented machine determines latency and upload capacity |
| Support | Provider support can handle panel, machine, and network issues | You troubleshoot the complete stack |
| Recurring cost | Monthly hosting charge; one observed WinterNode configuration started at $19.90 per month in October 2026 | No hosting subscription is required, but hardware, electricity, storage, and administration remain your responsibility |
Managed hosting: installation steps
1. Confirm the supported release
Open the provider’s All Ultimate Selection installation entry and verify that it lists Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge, and the same pack release you will give to players. Providers may add or remove versions as their installation images change.
2. Select the pack and version in the panel
BoxToPlay documents a flow in which you select the All Ultimate Selection version, review the cart with the Minecraft plan and selected release, and receive the server after installation is performed during setup. VeryGames documents selecting the pack and version in its control panel, creating the installation, and applying later changes through its Addons panel. CreeperHost says its system prepares the Minecraft version, modloader, and launch setup automatically.
3. Choose enough memory before the first world starts
For a small group, start with about 10GB if the provider’s plan allocates that amount to the Java process. WinterNode lists a 1.21.1 NeoForge server, one-click installation, and a recommended 10GB configuration. Game Host Bros also advertises at least 10GB and states that its 10GB configuration allocates 8.7GB to Java at startup. That distinction matters: a “10GB plan” does not always mean the Java process receives the entire amount.
4. Check the installation result
Before inviting players, confirm in the panel that the server reports Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge, and the intended All Ultimate Selection release. Check the console for a completed startup rather than assuming that a successful file upload means the server is ready. Keep the first launch private while you inspect logs and create a test world.
5. Use the provider’s update workflow
Do not overwrite a running installation blindly. Stop the server, take a world backup, record the current pack release, and use the panel’s documented update or Addons function. If the panel offers several pack versions, select the exact release installed on every client or plan a coordinated client update.

How much RAM does the server need?
Provider recommendations cluster around 10GB for a small managed server. WinterNode describes 8–12GB as typical depending on player count and view distance. Game Host Bros recommends at least 10GB and says 14GB or more provides additional headroom for busier groups and automation. These are hosting-provider recommendations, not an independent benchmark from TheWizard, CurseForge, or NeoForge.
| Use case | Practical starting point | What can increase demand |
|---|---|---|
| Small group with moderate exploration | About 10GB according to the cited provider guidance | Long view distance, simultaneous exploration, frequent dimension travel, and extensive chunk loading |
| Growing group with Create machines and automated farms | More than the small-server baseline; evaluate whether 14GB or more is appropriate | Large contraptions, item transport, redstone activity, entities, and permanently loaded areas |
| Busy community server | Plan additional headroom rather than treating 10GB as a capacity guarantee | Concurrent players, pregenerated or newly generated terrain, multiple bases, and high entity counts |
RAM alone does not guarantee smooth play. A server can lag because its CPU is saturated, storage is slow, the network is constrained, or too many chunks and entities are active. Watch memory use and tick performance under your actual player load, then increase the allocation when the machine consistently approaches its limit or the server struggles during exploration and automation.
Self-hosting workflow
The available project information confirms that a dedicated server pack exists, but it does not publish a complete, release-specific command manual. The safest self-hosting process is therefore to use the launch files included in the exact server archive and verify each requirement against current NeoForge documentation rather than copying a generic command from another pack.
1. Select one release for everyone
Write down the pack release, Minecraft version, and NeoForge combination before downloading anything. Give players the same release through the launcher. Do not mix a 2.0.0 client with the 1.4.0 server archive.

Use the official CurseForge server-pack artifact for that release, not the regular client ZIP. The older 1.4.0 server archive was 1.3GB, which illustrates why the download may be substantially larger than the client package.

3. Extract without dropping files
Extract the archive into a new server directory and preserve its folder structure. Do not selectively copy only the mods folder: configurations, libraries, scripts, datapacks, and launch files may all be required. Keep the original ZIP until the installation has started successfully.
4. Follow the included launch instructions
Use the server pack’s supplied launcher or startup script and the Java/runtime requirement documented by the pack or current NeoForge documentation. Avoid inventing memory flags or substituting a loader command from a different Minecraft version. If the archive contains separate Windows and Linux launch files, use the one appropriate to the host operating system.

Start the server once while it is not publicly advertised, read the console output, and complete any acceptance or configuration prompts requested by the included files. Stop it cleanly before editing configuration. Record the exact loader and pack versions shown by the startup output.
6. Configure the network
Allow the Minecraft server through the host firewall and forward the standard Minecraft port, 25565, on a home router when the server is behind one. The external address players use depends on your network or hosting provider. Test from a separate connection where possible; a local client connecting through the same router can produce a false sense that outside players can reach the server.
7. Create a backup routine before inviting players
Stop the server before making a full world copy unless the pack’s documentation explicitly supports live snapshots. Back up the world, configuration, scripts, and any custom server files. Keep at least one copy on a different disk or machine, and periodically perform a restore test so you know the archive is usable.
Best Value
- Play and share with friends on console, mobile and Windows 10
- discover community creations in the new in-game store
- access new mini games and game modes through servers
8. Connect with a matching client
Install the same All Ultimate Selection release, Minecraft 1.21.1 version, and NeoForge combination on the client. Enter the server address only after the server console shows a completed startup. A mismatch can appear as missing mods, rejected connections, registry errors, or a disconnect during login.

Pre-generate carefully
Exploration creates chunks and can produce the heaviest load of the session. If you use a chunk pre-generation tool, run it during a maintenance window, monitor CPU, storage, and memory, and keep the radius realistic. Pre-generating an enormous area can consume substantial disk space and does not remove the need for adequate runtime resources.
Control view distance and simulation distance
View distance increases the terrain each player must receive, while simulation distance increases the area in which game logic runs. Begin conservatively, observe tick performance with several players online, and raise the settings only when the server remains stable.
Watch automation and entities
Create factories, item transport, farms, mobs, and decorative entities can create persistent work even when players are not actively exploring. Ask players to disable malfunctioning machines and remove runaway entities before treating every slowdown as a RAM problem.
Schedule maintenance
Announce restarts, updates, and backup windows. Keep a written record of the current release, configuration changes, and installed server-side additions. That record makes rollback and migration much faster when a pack update introduces a conflict.

Updating without breaking the world
- Identify the target All Ultimate Selection release and confirm that a dedicated server pack exists for it.
- Back up the complete current server directory, especially the world and configuration files.
- Stop the server cleanly and record the old release and loader information.
- Prepare the new server pack in a separate directory rather than overwriting the only working copy.
- Compare the new archive’s supplied launch files and configuration structure with the old installation.
- Move or merge only the world and custom files that the release documentation says are compatible; do not blindly replace new configuration files with old ones.
- Start the staged server privately and test login, dimensions, quests, machines, and key world areas.
- Update every client to the same release before reopening the server.
If the new release fails, stop it, preserve its logs, and restore the previous directory and backup. Never delete the old world while an update is still being tested.
Troubleshooting checklist
The server will not start
- Confirm that the server archive, Minecraft version, and NeoForge loader belong to the same All Ultimate Selection release.
- Use the included startup file instead of a generic NeoForge command.
- Check that the selected Java/runtime matches the requirement documented by the pack or current NeoForge documentation.
- Read the first error in the console and preserve the full log before changing files.
Players receive a mod or registry mismatch
- Compare the client and server release numbers exactly.
- Confirm that both are on Minecraft 1.21.1 and the same NeoForge combination.
- Make sure players installed the pack through the client distribution rather than copying an incomplete server directory.
The server lags during exploration
- Lower view distance and simulation distance temporarily.
- Check whether several players are generating new terrain at once.
- Pause heavy automation and inspect entities and permanently loaded chunks.
- Evaluate CPU and memory usage before deciding whether to add RAM; provider guidance is not a performance guarantee.
Outside players cannot connect
- Verify the host firewall rule and router forwarding for port 25565 when self-hosting.
- Test from a separate internet connection.
- Confirm that players are using the correct external address rather than a private LAN address.
- For managed hosting, use the address and port displayed by the provider panel.
An update damaged the installation
- Stop the server and keep the failed directory and logs for diagnosis.
- Restore the last known-good world and server backup.
- Recheck that the replacement server pack is the intended release and that clients are updated together.
Managed-host recommendations in the available documentation
Several providers publish pack-specific installation pages. BoxToPlay describes selecting the pack and version before checkout and installation. VeryGames documents panel installation and later updates through Addons. CreeperHost says its automation prepares the Minecraft version, modloader, and launch setup. WinterNode lists one-click installation for a 1.21.1 NeoForge server and a 10GB recommendation. Game Host Bros advertises one-click installation, a dedicated server pack, and at least 10GB, while noting that 8.7GB is allocated to Java in its 10GB configuration.
WinterNode’s listed configuration showed a starting price of $19.90 per month when observed in October 2026. Hosting prices, available locations, resource allocations, backups, and pack support can change, so treat that figure as a time-specific listing rather than a standing price. The author’s project page also says TheWizard personally uses BisectHosting to test and host the pack and advertises a 25% discount code; that is a first-party promotional statement, not an independent performance test.
Quick Recap
Final setup checklist
- All players and the server use All Ultimate Selection MC 1.21.1.
- The pack release is identical on client and server.
- The NeoForge combination matches the selected release.
- The dedicated server-pack archive, rather than a client ZIP, was used for hosting.
- The machine has about 10GB available for a small group, with additional headroom planned for heavier use.
- The included launch files were used and their startup output was checked.
- Firewall, router forwarding, or the managed-host address has been tested from outside the local network.
- A complete backup exists before players begin and before every update.
- View distance, simulation distance, automation, entities, and world generation are monitored as the community grows.
