Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show 2025 broadcast featured 25 games, according to Xbox Wire’s September 25 recap. The biggest reveal was Forza Horizon 6, set in Japan and announced for 2026. The lineup also included updates to Xbox games, partner releases and trailers, Japan-focused content, and several titles that Xbox said would join Game Pass. Dates and service details below reflect what Xbox reported in 2025; they are not a current availability check.
What Xbox announced at Tokyo Game Show 2025
The broadcast mixed updates from Xbox’s own studios with partner announcements. Its centerpiece was Forza Horizon 6, but the show also covered a free Japan update for Microsoft Flight Simulator, Japan-set Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 maps, and a range of partner games. Xbox counted 25 different games in the recap; it did not explain its counting method.
Xbox had announced the broadcast for September 25, 2025, at 7 p.m. JST. The preview said it would stream on official Xbox and Tokyo Game Show channels, with Japanese Sign Language and American Sign Language, plus audio descriptions in Japanese and English. Xbox’s event announcement also described show-floor activities, including opportunities to try ROG Xbox Ally handhelds.

Forza Horizon 6 heads to Japan in 2026
Playground Games announced Forza Horizon 6 for 2026, with Japan as its setting. Its teaser showed landscapes including Mount Fuji, urban areas, and cherry blossoms. Xbox’s 2025 recap listed Xbox Series X|S, PC, Xbox Cloud, Xbox Play Anywhere, and Game Pass day-one availability, as well as Steam. It said a PlayStation 5 release was planned after launch. Those platforms and plans are the statements in the 2025 recap, not an independently updated schedule.

Microsoft Flight Simulator gets a free Japan update
World Update 20: Japan was announced as a free update for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Xbox Wire reported that it adds 23 photogrammetry areas covering over 20,000 square kilometres, five handcrafted airports, and 67 points of interest. The broadcast also introduced the NAMC YS-11 as a Local Legend aircraft, listed in the in-sim marketplace for $19.99 at the time of publication.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 shows Japan-set multiplayer maps
Activision presented multiplayer maps set in Japan for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Xbox’s recap listed Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Xbox Cloud, and Xbox Play Anywhere, and said the game would be available on Game Pass day one. It also listed platforms beyond Xbox; the recap’s platform statement reflects its 2025 announcement.
Age of Mythology: Retold – Heavenly Spear
Xbox showed more gameplay from Heavenly Spear, a Japan-inspired expansion for Age of Mythology: Retold. The recap said it was due to launch the following week; it did not give a specific date in the summary.
Fallout 76 spotlights its Japanese community
Developers thanked Japanese players and showed C.A.M.P.s built by members of the Japanese community. Xbox also pointed to updates released earlier in 2025: The Ghoul Within, Gone Fission, and C.A.M.P. Revamp.

Team Ninja and PlatinumGames demonstrated difficulty design, including enemy placement and AI scaling. The presentation also covered Hero Mode, adjustable assists, and a standalone training mode. Xbox said the game would launch October 21, 2025. It reported that swordsmith Yuya Nakanishi had forged replicas of Dragon Sword and Takeminakata, and that Ninja Gaiden 4-themed Xbox Design Lab standard and Elite Series 2 controllers were available for purchase at the time.

Partner game announcements
007 First Light
IO Interactive revealed Gemma Chan as Selina Tan, a senior MI6 official. The game was described as a standalone, reimagined origin story for a young James Bond. The recap did not provide a release date or platform list for this announcement.
Aniimo
A new trailer introduced creatures and showed interactions in the world of Idyll. Xbox’s recap did not specify a release date or platform list.
Double Dragon Revive
Xbox highlighted Extra Mode, which it described as featuring more than 50 missions, character episodes, and two-player online or local co-op. The recap gave October 23, 2025, as the launch date.
Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake
A new Ocean Floor area included the underwater town of Mersea and a quest involving a mermaid. Xbox listed October 30, 2025, as the release date.
Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake
Director Makoto Shibata discussed graphical and audio improvements, changes to the Camera Obscura, and new action elements. Xbox said the remake was coming in early 2026.

Gungrave GORE Blood Heat
The world-premiere trailer showed the action game rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, with revised combat and enemy designs. The recap did not state a release date or platforms.
Hitman: World of Assassination
The recap featured “The Infiltrator,” a Bruce Lee-themed mission set around an international martial arts tournament. Xbox said it would be playable for free from September 25 to November 20, 2025, as a time-limited offer; that window has passed.

Hotel Barcelona
Creators Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro and Goichi “Suda51” Suda presented co-op for up to three players and a PvP invasion mode. Xbox said the game would arrive September 26, 2025.
Mistfall Hunter
A developer update introduced the Solemn Needles map, its Divine Anchor, Hastine’s Fall, and Witchery Woods. The recap did not give a release date.
Monster Hunter Stories
Xbox said the first two Monster Hunter Stories games would arrive on Xbox on November 14, 2025. It listed Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection for March 13, 2026. These are dates from the 2025 recap.

The second trailer showed a four-player co-op action RPG. Xbox also said a pre-alpha test was available through Xbox Insider; the recap did not specify a release date.

Rhythm Doctor
A trailer showed gameplay and gave December 6, 2025, as the release date.
Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven
Square Enix surprise-released the game on Xbox Series X|S and PC during the broadcast. Xbox’s recap highlighted returning series systems and the remake’s freeform scenario system.
Starsand Island
A first CG trailer highlighted farming, DIY building, and a tease of multiplayer features. No release date was stated in the recap.
Sudden Strike 5
Xbox showed strategic World War II combat and said the game was coming in 2026.
Terminull Brigade
The broadcast teased a Neon Genesis Evangelion collaboration and announced the game for consoles and Xbox on PC. Xbox identified it as a day-one Game Pass title.
Winter Burrow
A release-date trailer showed a mouse preparing to survive winter through activities including cooking and knitting. Xbox listed November 12, 2025, as the release date and identified the game as a day-one Game Pass title.

Xbox named Game Pass day-one availability for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Forza Horizon 6, Terminull Brigade, and Winter Burrow. It specifically listed Xbox Play Anywhere for Black Ops 7 and Forza Horizon 6, and said most featured titles supported the program without identifying every qualifying game in the summary. Do not infer Game Pass or Play Anywhere availability for other games from their appearance in the broadcast.
Hardware and accessories shown around the event
Alongside the software announcements, Xbox said visitors could try ROG Xbox Ally handhelds at the show and reported that Ninja Gaiden 4-themed standard and Elite Series 2 controllers had been made available for purchase.
