The games did not all use the same claim or play method, and the 2024 offers should be treated as historical—not as games currently available to redeem.
What was in the September 2024 lineup?
The September 6 announcement highlighted Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, GreedFall: Gold Edition, Whispered Secrets: Everburning Candle Collector’s Edition, Minabo – A Walk through Life, and Eternights. It also included several games from Middle-earth and The Lord of the Rings.
Amazon’s announcement specified GOG codes for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition, LEGO The Lord of the Rings, and LEGO The Hobbit. Middle-earth: Shadow of War was the Luna cloud-play entry mentioned in the update, where the service was available. Amazon’s September 2024 announcement
A contemporaneous MeriStation/AS report described a broader rollout across multiple waves, adding titles such as Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Tales from the Borderlands, 9 Years of Shadows, Moonlighter, Cursed to Golf, Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales, The Falconeer, Kerbal Space Program, and Ghost Song. This is the secondary report’s expanded list, rather than a complete count established by Amazon’s announcement. MeriStation/AS, September 6, 2024

How did claiming and playing the games differ?
The practical distinction was the route attached to each title. The reported options included GOG codes, Epic Games Store claims, the Amazon Games App, Legacy Games, and Luna streaming. A Prime Gaming offer did not mean that every game used Amazon’s launcher or could be played in the same way.
| Route or service | What it meant |
|---|---|
| GOG code | Redeem a code with GOG for the specified game. |
| Epic Games Store | Claim the specified title through Epic’s storefront. |
| Amazon Games App | Some PC claims require installing the app and signing in with the Amazon account associated with Prime. |
| Legacy Games | Claim through the Legacy Games route specified for the title. |
| Amazon Luna | Stream the game through Luna where the service and title were available; this is cloud play, not a downloadable PC claim. |
Amazon’s general Prime Gaming guide describes games and in-game content as membership benefits, says members can claim at least one game per week, and notes that some PC claims require the Amazon Games app and Prime sign-in. That guidance explains the general process; it does not establish that every game in this particular September promotion used the app. Follow the route listed for the individual offer.

What did Luna add, and was a controller required?
Middle-earth: Shadow of War was the lineup’s Luna cloud-play offer. Amazon describes Luna as providing Prime members with a rotating selection of cloud games in supported countries; availability depends on service territory and the catalog at the time. Amazon Luna
A Luna Controller was optional, not a requirement for the lineup’s downloadable games or for Luna itself. Amazon lists the Luna Controller, Bluetooth controllers, and mouse and keyboard among Luna input options. Choose a supported control method that suits the game and device. Amazon Luna help

Can you still claim the September 2024 games?
This was a time-limited historical lineup announced in September 2024, not a current claim list. The available reporting does not establish the exact redemption deadline for every title or all regional differences, so it cannot confirm that any September 2024 claim remains available. Check the current Prime Gaming offer page for present-day games rather than relying on an old announcement.
