Netflix’s gaming effort now spans mobile games, games played on a TV with a phone as the controller, and a dedicated space for kids and families. Its announcements also show a push to turn familiar Netflix worlds into playable experiences. The company has not published a complete, current picture of its game catalog, country coverage or commercial performance.
Netflix Games has grown beyond mobile
Netflix has framed games as part of its entertainment membership, rather than as a separately announced gaming service. The formats in its announcements include mobile titles, living-room games on select TVs, and Netflix Playground for kids and families.
The effort had already been expanding for several years by the time Netflix began announcing TV play. In a December 13, 2023 update, Netflix Games vice president Mike Verdu said the company had launched 40 games that year, expected 86 to be available by year-end, and had nearly 90 more in development. He also described early tests of TV and computer games in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. These are historical figures and do not establish the size of the current catalog.
Netflix’s May 7, 2025 announcement about its TV experience discussed finding content and making the interface more responsive. It mentioned games as part of the broader service but did not announce a new gaming platform or a catalog total.

How Netflix TV games work
In the TV-game announcements, a compatible TV runs the game while a phone serves as the controller. For Netflix’s party-game lineup, the company said players choose a title from the TV Games tab and use their phones to play. The FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition announcement described a similar setup: start the game on the TV and scan in a phone to use it as a controller.
Netflix’s October 9, 2025 announcement named five TV party games: LEGO Party!, Pictionary: Game Night, Boggle Party, Tetris Time Warp and Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends. The company said the titles were available on select TVs in certain countries, with wider rollout planned.

FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition
On June 4, 2026, Netflix announced FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition, with availability starting June 11. Netflix said the game was included in membership and supported up to four players. Its product description listed 48 teams, 16 real-world stadiums and 1,248 players; those figures describe the announced game, not independent performance measures.
Netflix said TV games were available in the following 20 countries as of June 4, 2026: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and Brazil. That announcement is a dated snapshot, not a confirmed current compatibility list. Country, device and title availability can differ, so consult Netflix’s current help or catalog information before relying on access in a particular location.

Games based on Netflix worlds and shows
Some Netflix games connect directly to the company’s entertainment properties. The examples in its announcements range from additions to an existing game to a new mobile title built around a fictional game from a series.
Squid Game: Unleashed
On January 2, 2025, Netflix announced an update to Squid Game: Unleashed tied to the show’s second season. Netflix reported that the game had reached number one in the “Top Free Action Game” category in 57 countries and number one in the “Top Free Game” category in 24 countries. These are company-reported chart rankings from that date, not current rankings or a player-count measure.

Thronglets and other announced adaptations
Netflix announced Thronglets on April 10, 2025. Developed by Night School, it is a mobile game set in the Black Mirror universe and was described as available exclusively to Netflix members. Netflix connected it to the fictional game at the center of the season-seven episode “Plaything.”
Netflix’s January 2025 slate also named games based on Ginny & Georgia, Sweet Magnolias, Love is Blind and Single’s Inferno, and announced plans for exclusive WWE 2K mobile games for members. These were announcements of planned titles, not confirmation that every game is currently available.

Netflix Playground is aimed at kids and families
At its June 10, 2026 APAC Product Innovation Showcase, Netflix presented Netflix Playground as a dedicated space within Netflix Games for children’s games and experiences. The company said it was included with Netflix memberships, had no ads or in-game transactions, and was beginning a global rollout as its catalog grew.
Netflix announced a KPop Demon Hunters collection for Playground, scheduled for June 20, 2026, with six minigames. The rollout and catalog description reflect what Netflix announced in June; they do not establish the collection’s present availability in every country or on every device.
What Netflix’s announcements do—and don’t—show
Across mobile, TV and Playground, Netflix’s stated direction is to make its membership more valuable by letting members play as well as watch. In June 2026, Games Studio general manager Lisa Burgess described the vision as allowing members “not only to watch great stories, but also to play in them.” That explains the company’s product framing, but it is not evidence of how successful the effort has been commercially.
Netflix’s January 7, 2026 entertainment slate page said games were among the year’s offerings, but it focused mainly on series and films and explicitly said the list was not comprehensive. The announcements covered here do not establish Netflix’s current total game count, player numbers, profitability or complete device-and-country availability. Older catalog figures and individual launch announcements should not be treated as a current inventory.
