Amazon is testing a dedicated Shopping category on Twitch in the United States, according to a report published October 6, 2026. The category features Amazon Live creators demonstrating products, with links to buy them on Amazon. That makes “QVC” a fair shorthand for the format—but the report describes a limited experiment, not a shift of Twitch’s entire creator community into retail programming.
What is Twitch’s Shopping category?
Kicks & Grips reported on October 6, 2026 that Twitch had placed a Shopping category above its main category carousel and added a Shopping link to the site’s top navigation. The streams it saw came from Amazon Live creators, rather than established Twitch streamers turning their usual broadcasts into product shows. A product carousel on the viewing page linked to Amazon listings. Read the report from Kicks & Grips.
The products reportedly included Vitamix blenders and faux-leather handbags, so the category was not limited to gaming hardware or streaming equipment. A viewer could watch a product demonstration and follow a link to its Amazon listing; the report does not establish that checkout happens inside Twitch.
Why compare it to QVC?
The comparison fits the basic viewing experience: a host demonstrates products on live video while viewers have a direct route to shop. The important distinction is scale and scope. The reported change is a prominent Twitch discovery category populated by Amazon Live streams—not evidence that Twitch as a whole is becoming a shopping channel or that regular Twitch creators have broadly adopted product programming.

What the early audience numbers do—and don’t—show
Kicks & Grips reported seeing 65 combined viewers across six Amazon Live streamers on October 6. That is a single, time-specific observation. It is not a representative Twitch audience statistic, and it cannot establish demand, sales, conversion rates, or whether viewers welcomed the test.
How this differs from other Amazon shopping features on Twitch
Amazon has described other ways shopping can appear around Twitch, but they are separate from the reported Shopping category.
