Yes. Rogers said on February 6, 2026, that Amazon Luna was available to all Rogers Xfinity customers in Canada. How to open Luna on a Rogers Xfinity box
- Use the Rogers Xfinity voice remote and say “Luna” to find or open the app.
- Sign in or link the app using your Amazon account when prompted.
- Choose an eligible access option, then select a game.
- Pair a compatible Bluetooth controller, or use your phone where the game supports phone controls.

Which membership or subscription gives access?
Rogers’ February 2026 announcement names Amazon Prime, Ubisoft+ and Luna Premium as access options for its growing Luna library. Its support instructions also say an Amazon account and one of the eligible options are needed. The available games depend on the access option and can change, so check the current Luna catalog and your account’s included benefits rather than relying on an old game count.
For context only, Rogers’ December 11, 2025 launch release said Prime or Luna Premium customers could browse and play more than 100 cloud-based games, with more than 50 titles available to Prime members at that time. Amazon’s overview, updated September 21, 2026, later described more than 60 games for Prime members and an evolving GameNight collection of more than 45 casual local-multiplayer games. Do you need a controller?
Not for every game. Amazon says GameNight uses phones as controllers: players scan a QR code shown on the TV and use their phones to join and play. Other Luna games require a controller or mouse and keyboard. On Rogers Xfinity, Rogers says players can use a major Bluetooth-enabled controller or a smartphone, depending on the game.
The dedicated Amazon Luna Controller is optional. Amazon describes it as designed for cloud gaming and able to switch between screens; its Canada launch material described Cloud Direct connectivity as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Compatible alternatives listed by Amazon include Xbox controllers, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 controllers, and the Razer Kishi Mobile Game Controller. Rogers’ support list includes Xbox third-generation controllers, PlayStation DualSense, Nintendo Switch Pro, the Luna Controller and the Luna Phone Controller app; it says Joy-Con controllers are not compatible in that support context. Compatibility may vary by Xfinity device and game, so consult Rogers’ current instructions for your box before buying an accessory.

Which Xfinity boxes work, and what about Shaw customers?
Rogers says Luna is available to all Rogers Xfinity customers, while Amazon specifically lists the Rogers Xfinity Stream Box as a supported Canadian device. Rogers’ support page gives a more specific hardware caveat for Shaw customers: Luna works with Xi6 and XiOne, but not XG1v3, XG1v4 or XiD. That model restriction is stated for Shaw customers; do not assume it applies to every Rogers Xfinity customer.
Why is Luna lagging or buffering?
Because Luna sends gameplay from remote servers as streamed video and audio, the quality of the internet connection matters. Amazon recommends at least 10 Mbps for the best gaming experience; that is a general Amazon recommendation, not a Rogers-specific guarantee, and speed alone does not describe latency or connection stability.

Rogers suggests trying the following when games are slow or buffer:
- Move the router or hub to an open location closer to the TV.
- Try connecting the Xfinity device to the network by Ethernet.
- Consider a Wi-Fi extender if the wireless signal is weak where you play.

What cloud gaming changes—and what it does not
Amazon describes Luna games as running on remote AWS servers, with the picture and sound streamed to your device over the internet. That means you do not download those games to a console or need a separate console for this Xfinity use case. You still need the supported Xfinity device, network access, an Amazon account, an eligible membership or subscription, and suitable controls for the game you choose. A streamed service also depends on a responsive connection, so it is not the same experience as running a game locally.
