PC Game Pass is the better fit if you want a dedicated PC subscription library, day-one releases and EA Play. Amazon’s gaming benefits—now grouped under Luna—work differently: Prime members can claim a changing selection of downloadable PC games, and Prime also includes Luna Standard cloud play. Claimed games and streamed catalog games are separate benefits, so the right choice depends on whether you want a subscription catalog, claimable games or cloud gaming.

What Amazon Prime’s gaming benefits include now
Amazon retired the Prime Gaming brand and brought its gaming benefits under Luna. The familiar monthly PC-game claim benefit continues, while Luna Standard adds cloud streaming for Prime members. Amazon’s Luna overview
Monthly PC games you claim
Amazon’s October 2026 update says that month’s Free Games with Prime lineup offered 10 newly added PC games to claim and add to a collection. That is the October lineup, not a promise of 10 games every month. Amazon Game Studios
Claiming is a different access model from borrowing a game in a subscription catalog. Check each game’s store, platform and redemption terms to understand where it is added and how you access it. Do not assume every title works the same way or that claiming a game means it is available through Luna streaming.

Luna Standard cloud games
Amazon’s overview, updated September 21, 2026, describes Luna Standard as included with Prime and lists a 60+ game cloud catalog. Luna streams games from AWS servers to supported screens; its catalog is separate from the downloadable PC claims and changes over time. Amazon’s Luna overview
If you are choosing Luna mainly to play on a TV or another device, check supported countries, device compatibility, controller needs and the live catalog first. Amazon describes the optional Luna Controller as designed and optimized for Luna cloud gaming; it is not a requirement for PC Game Pass or every Luna game. Amazon’s Luna Controller overview

What PC Game Pass includes
Microsoft lists 300+ PC games, day-one titles and EA Play as PC Game Pass benefits. The library rotates, so the number and specific titles are not a guarantee that any particular game will remain available. Microsoft’s plan page and US plan listing
Game Pass catalog access lasts while your subscription is active and while each game remains in the catalog. If a game leaves, access through the subscription ends; canceling or allowing the subscription to expire also ends catalog access. PC requirements
Microsoft’s PC Game Pass page specifies Windows 10/11 version 22H2 or higher and the Xbox app. Individual game requirements vary, and some games may need a current Windows update. Check the requirements for the specific games you plan to install. Microsoft’s PC Game Pass page
Which service should you choose?
Choose PC Game Pass for a gaming-first subscription
- You want one monthly subscription centered on a sizable PC catalog.
- Day-one games and included EA Play are important to you.
- You are comfortable with catalog access ending when your membership ends or a game leaves.

Choose Prime’s gaming benefits as an extra if Prime already suits you
- You already pay for Prime and value its other benefits.
- You want to check a changing monthly set of PC games to claim.
- You are interested in trying Luna cloud streaming and its current catalog.
Prime’s gaming benefits should not be treated as equivalent to Game Pass’s PC subscription catalog: the monthly claims and Luna streaming have different access rules. Prime’s price and Luna availability depend on your market, and a matching local price is not established here.
Choose based on how you want access to work
- Want a game in a claimable collection? Look at Amazon’s monthly PC claims, then verify the individual redemption terms.
- Want to browse and download from a subscription catalog? PC Game Pass is the clearer match, with the trade-off that catalog access is temporary.
- Want to stream on a TV or other supported device? Consider Luna as a cloud-gaming option, but confirm local availability and the current catalog before deciding.
Check the live offers before subscribing
Both Amazon’s monthly claims and Luna’s streaming catalog change, as does the Game Pass catalog. Compare the games available now—not an old list—and check whether the specific titles you want are offered in your region and on your intended platform.
