Amazon Games and developer Glowmade said the game had not found the audience they hoped for. The game was delisted and Stamp purchases were disabled earlier, on February 23, 2026.
When did King of Meat shut down?
The servers closed on April 9, 2026. Amazon’s official shutdown notice said the game would cease to be playable when the servers went offline. The “six months” description refers approximately to the period between the public release on October 7, 2025, and the shutdown; buyers eligible for early access could start playing on October 2, so the span from that earlier date was longer.

What was King of Meat?
King of Meat was an online co-op party platformer for up to four players. Players tackled traps, puzzles, and monsters in official and community-made dungeons; the game also let players create dungeons. It launched on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Although the 2024 announcement included Nintendo Switch among planned platforms, the official release announcement listed only PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, so the available announcements do not establish a Switch launch.

Were players eligible for refunds?
Amazon’s sunset FAQ said players who purchased the game or Stamp packs were eligible for a full refund through the platform where they made the purchase, such as Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox. Amazon said most refunds would be processed automatically between February 24 and April 9, 2026. That was the publisher’s stated policy; it does not confirm that a particular player’s refund was completed.
What to do if a refund did not arrive
Amazon told players who had not received a refund by April 9, 2026, to contact customer support for the platform where they bought the game or Stamp pack. Refund handling was through that platform rather than a single universal Amazon refund process.

No. The servers closed on April 9, 2026, and the game cannot be played after that date. Buying the game or a compatible console or PC cannot restore access to a title whose servers have shut down.
What is known about why it closed?
Amazon’s stated reason was that King of Meat had not found the audience the company hoped for. Its shutdown notice did not give sales, player totals, budget figures, or a more specific explanation, so those should not be treated as confirmed causes or measurements.
