To download it, open AMD’s previous-driver page for your exact Radeon GPU or Ryzen processor and select the matching package. Do not assume one installer covers every AMD device: archive listings and package sizes are device-specific.
Download 20.9.1 from AMD
- Identify the exact AMD graphics card or processor in your PC. For a laptop or all-in-one, note the computer’s manufacturer and model as well.
- Open the corresponding product page in AMD’s Radeon 540 previous-driver archive, Radeon VII archive, or Ryzen 5 3550H archive, as applicable. If your device is different, find its exact product page through AMD Support rather than using one of these pages as a substitute.
- On the product page, locate Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.9.1 and verify that the device and operating system shown match your system before downloading.
AMD lists 20.9.1 as Recommended (WHQL), dated September 16, 2020, on the cited product archives. That label identifies the status AMD displays for this archived release; it does not establish that it is the best driver for every current system.
Why there is no universal download size or compatibility list
The AMD archives are specific to individual devices. The Radeon 540 page lists a 429 MB package, while the Radeon VII page lists a 603 MB package. Those are the sizes shown on those particular archive pages, not a universal 20.9.1 file size. AMD’s archived listings include a range of Radeon models and Ryzen 5 3550H, but the examples do not constitute a complete compatibility list.
Operating-system support also depends on the product. AMD’s current Adrenalin Edition 26.9.1 release notes state: “Operating System support may vary depending on your specific AMD Radeon product.” That current guidance is not the OS compatibility matrix for 20.9.1. Use the operating-system options shown on your own device’s archived driver page; do not infer 20.9.1 support from the newer release notes.

Laptop and all-in-one owners: check the PC manufacturer’s driver
AMD says computer manufacturers may customize and validate drivers for system-specific features. If you use a laptop or all-in-one, check the PC maker’s support page for your exact model. AMD recommends the OEM driver if its downloaded package causes problems; the Ryzen 5 3550H archive also carries this OEM caveat.

The available product archive entries establish the version, WHQL designation, release date, and device-specific package listings. They do not establish the complete 20.9.1 product and operating-system matrix, release highlights, game support, fixes, known issues, or installer requirements. Consult the matching AMD product page and the computer manufacturer’s support materials for details relevant to your hardware.
