Yes—the Radeon RX 6700 XT was designed with 1440p gaming in mind. AMD’s published RX 6000 series results report up to 117 FPS average across 10 games at 1440p, but that is a manufacturer-reported aggregate, not an independent benchmark or a guarantee for any particular game. Whether it is a good buy today depends on current prices, the games and settings you use, and the specific card model.
What the RX 6700 XT offers
AMD lists the Radeon RX 6700 XT’s launch date as March 1, 2021. Its product specifications give it 40 compute units, a game frequency of 2,424 MHz and 12 GB of GDDR6 memory. AMD describes it as a card for 1440p gaming; that positioning is a useful starting point, not a promise of a particular frame rate in every title.
What AMD’s 1440p performance figure means
On its Radeon RX 6000 series page, AMD reports up to 117 FPS average across 10 games at 1440p for the RX 6700 XT. This is AMD’s result, not an independent test. “Up to” and the across-games average matter: the figure does not say what to expect in a specific game, at a particular quality preset, or on your PC. Game, settings, driver, CPU and the rest of the system all affect performance.
For a buying decision, compare independent tests of the exact games you play at 1440p and settings you intend to use. Make sure the comparison uses consistent settings and, where relevant, ray-tracing options, driver versions and test hardware. The manufacturer figure alone cannot establish how the card compares with alternatives in current games.

Memory and core specifications
The card has 12 GB of GDDR6 on a 192-bit memory interface. AMD lists memory speed of up to 16 Gbps and bandwidth of up to 384 GB/s. These figures describe the memory subsystem; they do not by themselves determine frame rates or guarantee performance at particular settings.
Power, connectors and fit
AMD specifies 230 W typical board power and recommends a minimum 650 W power supply. Its reference product specification calls for one 8-pin and one 6-pin additional power connector. Check the requirements for the exact board-partner card you are considering: cooler design, dimensions and power details can vary by model. Confirm that your PSU has the required connectors and that the card physically fits your case before buying.

Outputs and supported operating systems
AMD’s product page lists DisplayPort 1.4a and HDMI outputs and support for Windows 10, Windows 11 and Linux distributions. Check the particular card’s port layout and your monitor’s input before purchase; the product-page information does not establish the connector configuration of every board-partner model.
FSR 3 and Fluid Motion Frames
AMD’s October 2023 RX 6000 reference guide describes FSR 3 and Fluid Motion Frames features for RX 6000 desktop cards under compatibility conditions. That dated, general feature information does not confirm that a particular current game supports either feature, or that enabling one will improve your experience. Check current support information for the game and feature you plan to use.

Is the RX 6700 XT worth buying now?
The available specifications and AMD’s historical performance figure support calling it a 1440p-focused card, but they are not enough to give a present-day value verdict. Current prices, stock, independent comparisons and game-specific results are not established here. Weigh the asking price against current tests in your games, then check power, case clearance, connectors and monitor compatibility for the exact model. Without those details, naming a current price-performance winner would be guesswork.
