The Ryzen 5 7500X3D is no longer just a retail sighting: AMD lists it as a launched AM5 desktop processor, with a launch date of November 12, 2025. The October listing at UK retailer Westcoast came before that release and did not confirm the chip’s specifications or price. AMD has since published the details, while launch coverage and an independent review offer dated context for its regional availability and gaming value.
What the Ryzen 5 7500X3D is
The 7500X3D is a six-core, 12-thread Zen 4 processor for AMD’s Socket AM5 platform. Its 3D V-Cache gives it 96 MB of L3 cache, a feature intended to benefit gaming workloads that respond to additional cache. AMD lists a 4.0 GHz base clock, boost clock up to 4.5 GHz and 65 W default TDP. These are AMD’s product specifications for the processor launched in 2025. AMD’s Ryzen 5 7500X3D specifications are the authoritative reference.

The early story began on October 27, 2025, when HotHardware reported that UK retailer Westcoast had prepared a page for the unreleased CPU. It was a tray listing, without confirmed specifications or a price. Comparisons and projected figures circulating at the time were speculation; AMD’s later product page is the source for the confirmed hardware details. HotHardware’s October 2025 report records that initial sighting.

#1 Best Overall
- With 6 cores and 12 threads, the 7500X3D represents a new "X3D" entry-level solution based on the "Zen 4" architecture for gamers, offering X3D technology at an even more affordable price for the AM5 socket. The Ryzen 5 7500X3D is faster in AAA titles and competitive gaming than comparable processors in the same price range.
Availability and price: treat launch coverage as historical
At launch on November 12, 2025, Tom’s Hardware reported UK retail prices ranging from £239.99 to £269.99. Those figures describe launch-era listings, not current prices or evidence of present stock. The same report said AMD had described the processor as an EMEA-exclusive SKU, while US access at that time was through a Micro Center prebuilt. That regional account is also historical and does not establish availability in 2026. See Tom’s Hardware’s launch-week retail report for its dated retailer and region details.
Tom’s Hardware’s November 11, 2025 prebuilt coverage gave a launch-era price of $899.99 for Micro Center’s PowerSpec G528 configuration with an RTX 5060 8 GB, 16 GB DDR5-6000 and 1 TB SSD. It reported that the G527, configured with an RX 9060 XT 16 GB and 32 GB of RAM, cost $100 more. These are dated system configurations, not current offers or standalone CPU prices. The prebuilt report describes what was available then.

- The Socket AM5 socket allows processor to be placed on the PCB without soldering
- Ryzen 5 product line processor for your convenience and optimal usage
- 5 nm process technology for reliable performance with maximum productivity
- Hexa-core (6 Core) processor core helps processor process data in a dependable and timely manner with maximum productivity
- 6 MB L2 plus 32 MB L3 cache memory provides excellent hit rate in short access time enabling improved system performance
Does the boxed CPU include a cooler?
No. AMD lists the boxed product, ID 100-100001904WOF, as having no thermal solution included. The tray product ID is 100-000001904. Plan for a separate Socket AM5-compatible cooler and verify that it fits your case and motherboard. AMD recommends liquid cooling for optimal performance, but its product page does not establish that every system requires liquid cooling or identify a particular cooler as necessary.

PC Gamer’s November 12, 2025 review compared the 7500X3D with the Ryzen 5 7600X3D and found the 7500X3D a little behind in most gaming benchmarks, with a minimal frame-rate difference in most of its tested cases. The reviewer considered its value more favorable when price was taken into account. That finding belongs to the review’s games and test setup, not every game or configuration.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is it a good budget gaming CPU?
It can make sense for a gaming-focused AM5 build if the processor is available locally at a competitive price and the total system cost works. The dated review suggests gaming performance close to the 7600X3D in most of its own tests, while AMD’s specifications confirm a modern AM5 platform with DDR5. Neither point alone makes it the right buy: price, board and memory costs, cooling, graphics-card budget and non-gaming workloads all affect value.

- The world’s fastest gaming processor, built on AMD ‘Zen5’ technology and Next Gen 3D V-Cache.
- 8 cores and 16 threads, delivering +~16% IPC uplift and great power efficiency
- 96MB L3 cache with better thermal performance vs. previous gen and allowing higher clock speeds, up to 5.2GHz
- Drop-in ready for proven Socket AM5 infrastructure
- Cooler not included
The older Ryzen 5 5700X3D is another gaming-oriented comparison, but it uses the AM4 platform and DDR4 rather than AM5 and DDR5. Compare complete platform costs and upgrade paths, not just CPU prices. For a gaming-first system, also consider whether spending more on the graphics card would produce a better-balanced build; for heavily threaded productivity, compare the workloads and performance you need rather than assuming a gaming-focused chip is the best fit.
