1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteAMD released the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.10.1 Battlefield 6 Preview Driver on October 10, 2025. Its headline feature was new support for Battlefield 6 running under DirectX 12—not a promised or quantified FPS increase. AMD later released Adrenalin 25.10.2 with the same game support, so most players should use a newer compatible stable driver rather than install 25.10.1 in 2026.
What AMD 25.10.1 includes
According to AMD’s official release notes, 25.10.1 was a Windows preview graphics-driver package focused on:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- New game support: Battlefield 6 using DirectX 12.
- Package version: 25.10.25.25.
- Windows Driver Store version: 32.0.21025.25005.
- Bundled component: Ryzen AI NPU MCDM Driver 32.00.0203.297.
AMD did not publish an FPS percentage, frame-time comparison, or benchmark against 25.9.1 or another earlier driver. The release notes also do not claim a universal fix for stuttering, shader compilation, crashes, or frame pacing. Therefore, “support” should not be read as a guaranteed performance improvement on every Radeon GPU.
Supported Radeon hardware
AMD lists the following desktop Radeon families as compatible with the package:
#1 Best Overall
- Axial-tech fans now feature a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
- 2.5-slot design allows for greater build compatibility while maintaining cooling performance
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
- Dual BIOS switch lets you toggle between Quiet and Performance BIOS profiles
- Dual ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as sleeve bearing designs
- Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9060 series
- Radeon RX 7900, 7800, 7700, 7650, and 7600 series
- Radeon RX 6900, 6800, 6700, 6600, 6500, and 6400 series
- Radeon RX 5700, 5600, 5500, and 5300 series
- AMD Radeon AI PRO R9700
AMD also lists certain AMD processors with Radeon graphics. A compatible driver does not mean that a GPU will run Battlefield 6 well at a particular resolution or graphics preset. Check the game’s own system requirements and test your normal settings rather than inferring expected FPS from the driver list.
Laptop users should be cautious
The mobile package is a notebook reference driver, and AMD warns that it has limited support for system-vendor-specific features. Listed mobile products include the Radeon RX 7900M, 7800M, 7600M, 6800M, 6700M, 6600M, 6500M, 6300M, 5700M, 5600M, 5500M, and 5300M.
For gaming laptops and all-in-one PCs, AMD recommends using the driver supplied by the computer manufacturer. OEM packages may be customized for power management, hybrid-GPU switching, display outputs, hotkeys, sleep and wake behavior, and other device features. Installing the generic reference package can cause broken control-panel integrations, display problems, missing tuning options, or hybrid-graphics failures.

- Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal heat transfer, lowering GPU temperatures for enhanced performance and reliability

- Dual-ball fan bearings last up to twice as long as standard conventional sleeve bearings designs
- 0dB technology lets you enjoy light gaming in relative silence
The same caution applies to handheld gaming PCs. AMD says the Adrenalin package does not include support for handheld gaming devices; use the package provided by the handheld manufacturer. The driver is also not intended for Radeon products running through Apple Boot Camp.
Operating-system requirements
AMD lists support for:
- Windows 10 64-bit, version 19044 or later
- Windows 11
The release notes do not establish support for Linux, macOS, earlier Windows builds, Apple Boot Camp, or handheld gaming devices.
25.10.1 versus 25.10.2
AMD released Adrenalin 25.10.2 on October 29, 2025. It also listed Battlefield 6 DX12 support and added a fix for an intermittent crash or driver timeout on systems using the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370.

- Powerful 1080p & 1440p Gaming Engine: Features a max boost clock of up to 2695 MHz, a game clock of 2280 MHz, and 2048 stream processors, ensuring outstanding frame rates in the latest titles.
- 8GB High‑Speed GDDR6 Memory: Equipped with 8GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128‑bit interface running at 18 Gbps, delivering up to 288 GB/s bandwidth for high‑resolution textures and demanding game workloads.
That release sequence makes 25.10.1 a historical preview driver rather than the default choice for current players. AMD’s release notes do not prove that every later driver is better for every configuration, but a newer compatible stable release is generally the sensible starting point. Check AMD’s current driver selector before downloading an old preview package.

| Situation | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Desktop Radeon user troubleshooting a Battlefield 6 launch or rendering problem | Consider testing the preview driver, but keep a rollback plan. |
| Stable system already running a newer driver | Stay on the newer driver unless you have a specific reason to reproduce 25.10.1. |
| Gaming laptop or all-in-one working correctly | Prefer the manufacturer’s driver. |
| Handheld gaming PC | Use the handheld maker’s driver package. |
| Apple Boot Camp system | Do not use this package. |
| Looking only for guaranteed FPS gains | Do not install it solely for that expectation. |
How to download and install it
- Open AMD’s 25.10.1 release-notes page.
- Confirm that the page is specifically for the Battlefield 6 Preview Driver.
- Verify your exact Radeon model and Windows version against AMD’s compatibility list.
- Use AMD’s download control rather than a third-party mirror.
- Run the installer with administrator rights; AMD says administrator privileges are required.
- Restart Windows if requested, then launch Battlefield 6 and test your usual graphics settings.
Because 25.10.1 is superseded, check AMD’s current support page first. Install the older package only when you specifically need its historical game-support configuration or are investigating a version-related issue.

If the installer fails, check administrator permissions, the Windows build, and whether your exact Radeon product is listed. Laptop owners should also reconsider whether the OEM driver is the safer option. AMD’s release-notes page links to its official installation and uninstallation guidance.

If Battlefield 6 still crashes, do not assume the driver is the cause—or that 25.10.1 fixes every DirectX error. Check for game patches and corrupted files, disable overclocks and undervolts, test without overlays or recording tools, and consider shader-cache, RAM, VRAM, BIOS, chipset, firmware, launcher, and anti-cheat issues. If other games become unstable, display corruption or driver timeouts appear, or laptop power features stop working, return to the previous known-good driver or the OEM package.
WHQL status
AMD reports that the WHQL test suite passed, while Microsoft certification is listed as Not Applicable. That wording should not be simplified to “Microsoft WHQL-certified.”
