analogic delay.dll is a VST2 audio plug-in file, not a Windows system DLL. It belongs to Analogic Delay by The Interruptor, an older effect that emulates a tape delay, so the correct repair is to restore the plug-in inside your DAW rather than copy a DLL into System32.
The most reliable fix is to download the newest listed Analogic Delay release, release 1.2, from The Interruptor’s official legacy plug-ins page, extract Analogic Delay.dll, place it in a VST2 folder scanned by your DAW, and rescan the plug-ins. Because this legacy plug-in is 32-bit, a 64-bit DAW may also require a reputable VST bridge or a compatible 32-bit host.

Fix 1: Restore the official plug-in to your VST folder
This is the correct first repair when the DAW reports that analogic delay.dll is missing, cannot be found, or is unavailable.
1. Download the official archive
Open The Interruptor’s official legacy plug-ins page and locate Analogic Delay. Choose release 1.2, which is the newest Analogic Delay release listed there. The page also lists release 1.1 for older installations.
Do not download an isolated Analogic Delay.dll from a generic DLL site. The original archive is safer because it preserves the plug-in’s intended package and reduces the chance of receiving the wrong architecture, a modified file, or a file unrelated to the product.
Save the archive somewhere easy to find, such as your Downloads folder.
2. Extract the archive completely
In File Explorer:
- Open Downloads.
- Right-click the Analogic Delay archive.
- Select Extract All.
- Choose a temporary folder, such as
DocumentsAnalogic Delay Extracted. - Select Extract.
- Open the extracted folder.
- Confirm that it contains
Analogic Delay.dll.
If Windows shows a security warning, do not bypass it blindly. Confirm that the archive came from The Interruptor’s official page, then scan it with Windows Security before copying the plug-in.
3. Find the VST2 folder used by your DAW
The correct folder is the one your DAW scans for VST2 plug-ins. It varies by application and installation, so do not assume that a folder named VSTPlugins is automatically active.
Open your DAW’s plug-in settings and look for a section named Plug-ins, VST, VST2, Plug-in Manager, or Locations. Add or note the folder used for VST2 plug-ins.
Common user-created locations include:
C:VSTPlugins
C:Program FilesVSTPlugins
C:Program FilesCommon FilesVST2
These are examples, not universal required paths. Use the exact folder configured in your DAW.
4. Copy the DLL
- Right-click
Analogic Delay.dll. - Select Copy.
- Open the VST2 folder used by your DAW.
- Right-click an empty area.
- Select Paste.
- Approve the administrator prompt only if the folder requires it.
Do not rename the file and do not copy it into both System32 and SysWOW64.

5. Rescan the plug-ins
In the DAW:
- Open Preferences, Settings, or Options.
- Open the plug-in or VST section.
- Confirm that the folder containing
Analogic Delay.dllis listed. - Select Rescan, Scan, or Update plug-in list.
- If available, choose a full or forced rescan.
- Search the effects list for Analogic Delay.
The repair worked if the plug-in appears in the DAW and opens on an audio or instrument track. If it still does not appear, continue with the scan-path check below.
Fix 2: Correct the DAW’s VST2 scan path
A file can be present and healthy but invisible to the DAW if it is outside the configured scan directories.
Cubase or Nuendo
- Open Studio.
- Select VST Plug-in Manager.
- Open the plug-in manager settings.
- Review the configured VST2 paths.
- Add the folder containing
Analogic Delay.dllif it is missing. - Rescan the plug-ins.
- Search for Analogic Delay.
The exact labels can differ between Cubase and Nuendo releases. Look specifically for VST2 locations rather than VST3 locations.
Ableton Live
- Open Options.
- Select Preferences.
- Open Plug-ins.
- Enable the VST2 custom folder option if that is where you installed the file.
- Select Browse and choose the folder containing
Analogic Delay.dll. - Close Preferences.
- Trigger a plug-in rescan if the version provides that option.
- Check the browser under the VST effects section.
FL Studio
- Open Options.
- Select Manage plugins.
- Add the folder containing
Analogic Delay.dllto the plug-in search paths. - Start a scan.
- Enable the option that verifies plug-ins if available.
- Search the results for Analogic Delay.
REAPER
- Open Options.
- Select Preferences.
- Choose Plug-ins and then VST.
- Add the folder containing the DLL to the VST path list.
- Select Clear cache/re-scan.
- Search the effects browser for Analogic Delay.
Pro Tools
Pro Tools does not load VST plug-ins directly. If you are using Pro Tools, Analogic Delay.dll may need a compatible wrapper or bridge that exposes the plug-in in a format supported by your Pro Tools installation. If no compatible wrapper is available, use the effect in a DAW that supports VST2 or replace it with a supported delay plug-in.
Fix 3: Resolve the 32-bit VST2 and 64-bit DAW problem
This is the most important compatibility check for a modern installation.
The Interruptor identifies its legacy plug-ins as 32-bit VST2 plug-ins. A 64-bit DAW generally cannot load a 32-bit VST2 DLL directly. The plug-in may therefore:
Recommended Free Tools
- fail to appear during scanning;
- appear with a warning;
- cause the scan to stop;
- show a “could not be loaded” message;
- trigger a message that the file is not designed to run on Windows;
- open and then crash the DAW.
Check your DAW architecture
Look in the DAW’s Help, About, or installation information. The program may identify itself as 32-bit or 64-bit. Windows itself can be 64-bit while still running a 32-bit DAW.
Choose a compatible environment
You have three practical choices:
- Use a 32-bit version of the DAW that supports the plug-in.
- Use a reputable VST bridge supported by your DAW.
- Replace Analogic Delay with a current delay plug-in if the old effect is not essential.
Install the bridge according to its vendor’s instructions, then point the bridge or DAW at the folder containing Analogic Delay.dll. Rescan the plug-ins afterward.
A bridge can solve the architecture mismatch, but it cannot guarantee stable operation. Older plug-ins may still have GUI, preset, automation, or crash problems inside a modern host.

Test in a disposable compatible host
If your main DAW crashes during scanning:
- Temporarily move
Analogic Delay.dllout of the active VST folder. - Restart the DAW and confirm that it opens normally.
- Test the plug-in in a compatible 32-bit VST host or through a supported bridge.
- Check whether the failure occurs only in the original DAW.
- Remove the plug-in from the main system if it remains unstable.
If it fails in every compatible host, download the official archive again and replace the extracted copy. If the fresh official copy also fails, the plug-in may simply be too old for the environment.
Fix 4: Re-download and re-extract a damaged plug-in
A partially downloaded archive or incomplete extraction can produce a missing-file or invalid-file error.
- Delete the current
Analogic Delay.dll, or move it to a quarantine folder. - Delete the old downloaded archive.
- Download release 1.2 again from The Interruptor’s official page.
- Extract it with File Explorer or a current archive utility.
- Copy the newly extracted DLL into the configured VST2 folder.
- Rescan the plug-ins.
- Test the effect in a blank project before opening the affected project.
The official page lists package sizes for the releases, but there is no published checksum to use for independent hash verification. Treat the download source and successful extraction as more important than matching an invented or unofficial checksum.
If the file is present but the DAW reports a dependency error, do not assume that a Microsoft runtime is missing. No specific Microsoft runtime dependency for Analogic Delay is established here. Test the official copy in a compatible host and review the DAW’s own scan or crash log.
Fix 5: Check Windows Security Protection history
If Analogic Delay.dll disappeared after it had previously worked, Windows Security may have quarantined it.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches- Open the Start menu.
- Search for Windows Security.
- Open Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Review recent detections.
- Open any entry that identifies the plug-in or its archive.
- Read the detection details before taking action.
Microsoft allows a quarantined item to be restored, but restoring a detection is appropriate only when you are confident that the file came from the developer’s official package and is safe. Re-download the archive from The Interruptor first where possible, scan it, and avoid disabling antivirus protection indiscriminately.
If the official archive is repeatedly removed, leave the file quarantined and contact the plug-in developer or use a modern replacement. A missing plug-in is preferable to weakening system protection without understanding the detection.
Fix 6: Repair Windows components only when other programs are failing
Analogic Delay.dll is not a Windows component. System File Checker and DISM do not normally recreate a third-party VST plug-in. Use them when Windows itself is showing broader corruption, such as multiple built-in applications failing or repeated component errors.
Run DISM
- Open Start.
- Type
Command Prompt. - Right-click Command Prompt.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Select Yes at the User Account Control prompt.
- Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for the operation to finish.
- Restart Windows.
Run System File Checker
After DISM completes:
- Open an elevated Command Prompt again.
- Run:
sfc /scannow
- Wait until verification reaches 100 percent.
- Restart Windows.
- Retry the DAW.
Success means Windows reports that it repaired corrupted system files or found no integrity violations. It does not mean that Analogic Delay.dll has been restored. If the DAW still cannot load the plug-in, return to the official archive, VST2 scan path, and 32-bit compatibility checks.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Fix 7: Update the DAW and relevant audio drivers
A driver update is not the normal repair for a missing VST file, but it can help if the DAW also crashes, loses audio devices, or fails while initializing its audio engine.
Update the DAW
Use the DAW’s built-in updater or download its current installer from the DAW developer. Back up projects and presets first. After updating, confirm that VST2 support and the old plug-in scan path are still enabled.
Check Device Manager
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click your audio interface or sound device.
- Select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows if prompted.
- Open the DAW and rescan the VST folder.
Do not expect Device Manager to reinstall Analogic Delay.dll. It only addresses hardware-driver problems that may be separate from the plug-in error.

What not to do
Do not copy the file into System32 or SysWOW64
Those folders are not general-purpose storage for application DLLs. On 64-bit Windows, System32 contains native 64-bit system components and SysWOW64 contains 32-bit system components. Neither folder is the correct VST2 scan location.
Do not use regsvr32
regsvr32 is intended for DLLs that expose registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer. A VST plug-in is normally discovered by the DAW, not registered as a COM or ActiveX component.
Commands such as these are therefore not a proper repair:
Outdated Drivers Are Slowing You Down
One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallregsvr32 "Analogic Delay.dll"
regsvr32 /u "Analogic Delay.dll"
A registration error does not prove that the plug-in is damaged.
Do not download an isolated replacement DLL
Random DLL download sites may provide malware, the wrong version, the wrong architecture, or a file unrelated to the original product. An isolated replacement also leaves the DAW’s scan path and 32-bit compatibility problem unresolved.
Use the official Analogic Delay package from The Interruptor or a trusted backup made from your own working installation.

Do not assume every DLL error is a Windows problem
The wording “not designed to run on Windows” can describe incompatible architecture, corruption, or incomplete extraction. It does not mean that Analogic Delay belongs in a Windows system directory.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
If the project still will not open
If an old project fails because it expects Analogic Delay:
- Move the plug-in out of the scan folder temporarily.
- Open the project with plug-in loading disabled if your DAW offers that mode.
- Save a recovery copy under a new project name.
- Remove or bypass the missing effect.
- Replace it with a supported delay plug-in.
- Re-enable the original only after testing it in a compatible environment.
If the DAW sees Analogic Delay but crashes when the effect opens, disable it, inspect the DAW’s crash log, and test the official DLL through a compatible 32-bit host or bridge. Do not repeatedly open the same damaged project without first making a backup.
System Restore is a last resort for a recent system-wide change, not the normal solution for a missing VST. It rolls back system files, settings, and installed programs while leaving personal files untouched, so it should be considered only after backing up important projects and confirming that the problem began after a broader Windows change.
FAQ
Is Analogic Delay.dll part of Windows?
No. It is the Windows VST2 plug-in file for Analogic Delay by The Interruptor. It should live in a VST2 folder scanned by your DAW.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesIs there a 64-bit version?
The official legacy collection identifies these plug-ins as 32-bit VST2 plug-ins. Use a compatible 32-bit host or a reputable bridge when working from a 64-bit DAW.
Which release should I download?
Release 1.2 is the newest Analogic Delay release listed on The Interruptor’s official page. Release 1.1 is also listed for older setups.
Why does the plug-in appear but fail to load?
The most likely reason is that a 64-bit DAW is trying to load the 32-bit VST2 DLL without bridging. A corrupt extraction or incompatible host can produce a similar result.
Do I need Visual C++ Redistributable?
There is no verified requirement here for a particular Microsoft runtime. Do not install random runtime packages solely because a DLL error mentions Analogic Delay.dll.

A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteShould I run regsvr32?
No. VST plug-ins are normally scanned by the DAW and do not need global DLL registration.
What if antivirus quarantined the file?
Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Protection history. Review the detection, prefer downloading a fresh archive from The Interruptor, and restore a quarantined item only when you are confident about its provenance and safety.
What if none of these fixes work?
Test a fresh official copy in a disposable compatible 32-bit VST host. If it fails there as well, replace the effect with a modern delay plug-in and remove Analogic Delay from the affected project.
