What time does the eShop release?
Nintendo’s reviewed pages do not state an exact unlock hour for Animal Crossing: New Horizons version 3.0.0 or the Switch 2 Edition. Nintendo’s general eShop guidance says digital software also sold physically usually becomes available at 9:00 p.m. Pacific Time on the evening before release; digital-only games usually become available at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time on release day. Because the Switch 2 Edition is listed as a physical product, the 9:00 p.m. Pacific general timing category may seem relevant—but Nintendo’s guidance does not confirm that this title follows it. Do not rely on either general time as a guaranteed countdown. The cited date is from Nintendo’s US store, and these sources do not establish exact regional unlock times elsewhere.

Nintendo’s update history describes version 3.0.0 as adding previously announced content and features. It also lists quality-of-life changes, including:
- Crafting up to 10 items at once when the required materials are available.
- Using items in home storage as materials for DIY recipes.
- A DIY Recipes page to track requests from the hotel and Tom Nook.
- Ordering Pocket Camp-linked items through Nook Shopping.

What does the Switch 2 Edition add?
Nintendo describes the Switch 2 Edition as adding enhanced resolution, mouse controls for decorating, and a megaphone that uses the system microphone. It supports online sessions of up to 12 players when everyone in the session has the Switch 2 Edition. CameraPlay through GameChat is available with a compatible USB camera. Online play requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership, and camera use requires compatible equipment; those requirements apply to the optional features, not to receiving the version 3.0 update.
