In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Turkey Day is held on the fourth Thursday in November. In 2026, that is November 26. Visit Franklin at Resident Services between 9 a.m. and midnight, make his four requested dishes, then add each dish’s secret ingredient to earn extra rewards. Your island’s hemisphere affects some ingredient requests, so follow the recipe Franklin gives you if it differs from a general list.
When is Turkey Day, and how do you access it?
Turkey Day takes place on the fourth Thursday in November. The event guide from Animal Crossing World, updated August 6, 2025, lists the 2026 event as November 26, from 9 a.m. to midnight in either hemisphere. It requires Resident Services and Isabelle to be unlocked. Nintendo’s Turkey Day reminder also notes that certain events require the latest update data and a software update; check that your game is updated before the event.
Franklin is stationed at Resident Services. Speak to him to begin. He asks for four dishes in sequence, and you need to return to him after each one is ready.
How to complete Franklin’s four dishes
Franklin’s requests can vary by hemisphere and, for some recipes, by randomized ingredient choice. Use the request shown in your game as the final word rather than trying to collect every option in a general recipe list.

The recipe options reflect the detailed event guide and Nintendo Wire’s recipe list; the guides do not present every randomized request identically. If Franklin asks for a listed option you did not expect, prepare the item he actually named.
How to find missing ingredients
Use the activity that matches the item Franklin requested:
- Manila Clams: Look for water spurts on the beach and dig at those spots with a shovel.
- Fish and sea creatures: Fish in the ocean for requested fish, and dive for underwater ingredients such as Scallops, Mussels, Sea Urchins, and Dungeness Crab.
- Pumpkins and other vegetables: Harvest the colors or vegetables you need from your garden.
- Mushrooms: Check near trees during November.
- Flour: Use Wheat at a kitchen to make it.
Villagers who are cooking at home can also help. Visit their homes, trade the fish they request, and they may give you an ingredient or hint at a secret ingredient. The trade is not guaranteed to produce the exact item you need, so check your pockets and storage before making another trip.

- Take in-game photos of your designs and add them to your portfolio. Show them to other characters and you may get more requests to create vacation homes. Share the photos with other players using the in-game Showroom in the Happy Home Network app and they can tour your personally-designed resort islands or go tour theirs for some relaxation and inspiration.
- Purchase the Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise DLC from Nintendo eShop, or download and play it as part of an active Nintendo Switch Online plus Expansion Pack membership at no extra cost.
The Turkey Day dishes can also be learned as cooking recipes for use beyond the event. Cooking arrived with Version 2.0, and access to the recipe feature requires DIY Recipes+. Nintendo’s Version 2.0 FAQ says players can obtain cooking recipes from residents or redeem Nook Miles for “Be a Chef! DIY Recipes+” after reaching certain gameplay milestones. If you miss Franklin, Nintendo Wire reports that the Turkey Day Recipes set may be sold at Nook’s Cranny for a limited time after the event; check the shop in-game, since that availability is time-limited.
If you also want Nook Friday sales
Nintendo’s reminder for its referenced year advertised 30 percent off sale items at Nook’s Cranny from November 22–30. Those dates are specific to that year, not a standing schedule for future Turkey Days.
