Nintendo ended service for the original Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp app on November 28, 2024, at 7:00 a.m. PT. It released the paid successor, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, on December 2, 2024. The announced deadline to transfer an original save was June 1, 2025, so that window has passed.
Is Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp shutting down?
It already has. Nintendo Support says service for the original smartphone app ended November 28, 2024, at 7:00 a.m. PT. Nintendo’s Japan notice lists the end as November 29 at midnight JST; those are the same moment expressed in different time zones, not conflicting dates. Nintendo Support’s service notice and Nintendo’s Japan notice document the shutdown.
Can you still play Pocket Camp?
The original app’s service has ended, and the cited Nintendo notices do not establish a way to keep playing that version. Nintendo’s successor is Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, released December 2, 2024. Nintendo describes it as a paid app with a flat-fee model rather than the original app’s service. Nintendo’s launch announcement explains the release and the replacement app.
The official information cited here does not establish current prices, regional store availability, device compatibility, or whether any post-deadline save-transfer exception exists. Check Nintendo’s current regional guidance and the relevant app store listing before making a purchase decision.

What happened to Pocket Camp Complete?
Complete retains the familiar campsite loop and a large collection of content. Nintendo said it includes more than 10,000 items, animal characters, crafting, fishing, bug catching, fruit gathering, and seasonal events. Its Complete Tickets can be exchanged for certain limited-edition items players missed or selected fortune cookies.
Social features work differently
Complete adds Camper Cards that players can share by QR code. Whistle Pass is a place where registered campers can appear, and K.K. Slider performs there nightly. These are features of Complete; they do not mean the original app’s online service remains active.

Custom Designs are import-only
Complete can download Custom Designs made in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but players cannot create new designs in Complete. Sharing designs created in New Horizons requires a Nintendo Switch, the game, and Nintendo Switch Online, according to Nintendo’s launch announcement. Those are requirements for sharing designs, not general requirements stated for playing Complete.
Can you transfer an original Pocket Camp save to Complete?
Nintendo’s launch announcement said existing save data could be transferred, with June 1, 2025 as the cutoff. That deadline has passed. The available Nintendo information does not confirm a later transfer option or recovery route, so do not assume a lapsed save can still be moved. Consult Nintendo’s official support guidance for your region if you need to check whether any exception applies.

What about unused Leaf Tickets?
Nintendo’s Japan notice mentions a refund process for unused paid Leaf Tickets, but the notice cited here does not provide enough detail to establish current eligibility or the present procedure. For an individual claim, use Nintendo’s official regional guidance rather than assuming the same refund terms apply everywhere.
