aossdk.dll Errors on Windows: Find the Original Installer

aossdk.dll is an application file, not a Windows system component. When Windows reports that aossdk.dll is missing, was not found, or could not be loaded, repair the game, banking tool, or trading program that installed it rather than downloading a replacement DLL.

A documented 32-bit build identifies itself as an AhnLab component associated with AhnLab Online Security, software used to protect online financial transactions. The same file is also bundled with some Ragnarok Online clients and financial applications.

File detail Known information
File name aossdk.dll
Category Third-party application file
Architecture 32-bit
Documented version 1.0.0.14
Approximate size 0.24 MB
Correct location Usually the folder of the program that needs it

The version above is a documented build, not a universal replacement. Different applications can expect different files, related modules, or integrity-check data.

First, identify the program behind the error

The application named in the error is the most important clue. Do not start by searching Windows folders for a file with the same name.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.

Write down:

  • The exact error message
  • The name of the game, bank, broker, launcher, or security module
  • Whether the program is 32-bit
  • The full path shown in the shortcut or error
  • Whether the problem began after an update, reinstall, disk cleanup, or antivirus alert

To find the program path:

  1. Right-click the application shortcut.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. On the Shortcut tab, read the Target field.
  4. Select Open File Location if that button is available.
  5. Look in the opened folder for aossdk.dll.

If the file is present beside the program executable, it can still be unusable. It may be damaged, the wrong version, blocked by antivirus, or rejected by the program’s integrity checker.

If several copies exist, the relevant one is normally in the folder belonging to the executable that produces the error. Do not overwrite copies belonging to other games or financial applications.

Fix 1: Repair or reinstall the parent application

This is the safest and most likely solution.

For a game or launcher

Use the launcher’s built-in repair process first:

  1. Open the official game launcher.
  2. Sign in if required.
  3. Open Settings, Options, or the game’s menu.
  4. Choose Verify files, Repair, Scan files, or Check files.
  5. Allow the launcher to download or rebuild damaged files.
  6. Restart Windows when the process completes.
  7. Launch the game again from its official shortcut.

The wording differs between launchers. The purpose is the same: restore the matching aossdk.dll and any files that work with it.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For an older Ragnarok Online client, repair the complete client rather than copying a DLL from another client. Older game distributions can contain different libraries and launchers, and a file that starts one client may fail an integrity check in another.

If the launcher has no repair option:

  1. Open Settings with Windows + I.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Select Installed apps on Windows 11, or Apps & features on Windows 10.
  4. Find the affected game.
  5. Select the three-dot menu in Windows 11, or select the program in Windows 10.
  6. Choose Uninstall.
  7. Restart Windows.
  8. Download the installer from the game’s official publisher or service.
  9. Install it to a normal application folder and test it before adding third-party modifications.

For a banking, securities, HTS, CYBOS Plus, or OpenAPI program

Financial applications often install security modules in their own directories and may update those modules during login or version processing.

  1. Close the financial application.
  2. Open Task Manager with Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
  3. Select Processes.
  4. End only processes clearly belonging to the affected bank, broker, or security module.
  5. Start the application’s official update, repair, or version-check program.
  6. If it offers a security-module repair, accept it.
  7. Restart Windows.
  8. Launch the financial application and allow its normal login update process to finish.

If the repair process is unavailable, uninstall the complete application and its related security module through Installed apps, then reinstall them using the bank or broker’s current installer. Do not obtain the DLL separately.

Kiwoom OpenAPI+ packages, for example, have included aossdk.dll and related files and can update runtime modules during login or version processing. A missing file may therefore indicate an incomplete package update rather than a missing Windows component.

Fix 2: Check antivirus quarantine

Security software can remove an old bundled DLL, or it can detect a modified copy. Treat the alert as useful evidence, not as proof that the file is safe or malicious.

In Windows Security:

  1. Open Start.
  2. Type Windows Security and open it.
  3. Select Virus & threat protection.
  4. Select Protection history.
  5. Find the event involving aossdk.dll or the parent application.
  6. Expand the event and read its path and action.
  7. Restore or allow the file only if the application and installer are trusted and the path is the expected application folder.

Microsoft’s Protection History also provides Restore and Allow on device actions where applicable.

Reinstalling the parent application after confirming that its installer is genuine is preferable to restoring an isolated DLL. Do not permanently disable antivirus protection to make an old program start. If the file was located in an unexpected folder, or the security alert concerns a modified file, run a full scan before restoring anything.

Fix 3: Repair an application integrity-check failure

A file can exist and still fail validation. Some financial applications compare installed files with a manifest or checksum.

A typical example is an error stating that integrity verification failed or that AOSSDK.DLL could not be found, even though the file is visible in the installation folder.

Try this sequence:

  1. Close the application.
  2. Close its launcher and related background processes in Task Manager.
  3. Restart Windows.
  4. Open the program’s official updater or launcher.
  5. Run its version check, repair, or module update.
  6. If the error returns, uninstall and reinstall the complete application and security module.
  7. Contact the bank or broker if the same integrity error appears after a clean reinstall.

Do not replace only aossdk.dll. The program may also expect a matching checksum file, launcher, security library, or configuration entry.

Fix 4: Resolve an AhnLab Online Security installation failure

If the error appears while a bank or website is installing AhnLab Online Security, the immediate problem may be the installer or its update connection rather than the DLL itself.

Check the following:

  1. Confirm that Windows can access other websites.
  2. Temporarily disconnect from a VPN or unusual proxy.
  3. Open Settings with Windows + I.
  4. Select Network & internet.
  5. Open Proxy and review manual proxy settings.
  6. Ask your network administrator whether corporate filtering blocks the bank’s or security vendor’s update service.
  7. Restart Windows.
  8. Start the installation again from the bank, broker, or service that requested the security module.

If the installer says that installation failed and offers to resolve the problem, follow that installer flow. Use the current installer supplied by the financial institution or vendor. Older troubleshooting pages may mention legacy browser components or old Windows hotfixes that are not automatically appropriate for Windows 10 or Windows 11.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Fix 5: Check whether a dependency is missing

“The specified module could not be found” does not always mean that aossdk.dll itself is absent. Windows may be unable to load a library that aossdk.dll depends on.

First, confirm that the file exists in the application’s folder. If it does, use the application’s official repair or reinstall process rather than guessing at individual dependencies.

Also install pending updates for the parent application. If the application documentation specifically requires a Microsoft runtime, obtain that runtime from Microsoft and install the architecture required by the program. A 32-bit application may require 32-bit supporting components even on 64-bit Windows.

Do not install random runtime packages simply because the error contains the word “DLL.” The parent application’s installer is the best source for its required files.

Fix 6: Check 32-bit compatibility

The documented aossdk.dll build is 32-bit. That is normal for an older game or financial application.

A 64-bit edition of Windows can run a 32-bit application through its compatibility subsystem. It does not make aossdk.dll a 64-bit Windows file, and it does not mean that the DLL belongs in C:WindowsSystem32.

To check the application:

  1. Open Task Manager with Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
  2. Select Details.
  3. Right-click a column heading.
  4. Select Select columns.
  5. Enable Platform if available.
  6. Check whether the related process is 32-bit.

You can also right-click the application’s executable, select Properties, and inspect the Compatibility tab. Compatibility settings may help an old program run, but they will not repair a missing or mismatched DLL.

Fix 7: Update Windows and relevant drivers only for wider problems

Driver updates are not the normal fix for a missing application DLL. Consider them only if the same program also crashes with graphics, networking, display, or device errors.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

To check drivers manually:

  1. Right-click Start.
  2. Select Device Manager.
  3. Expand the category related to the reported problem.
  4. Right-click the device.
  5. Select Update driver.
  6. Choose Search automatically for drivers.
  7. Restart Windows if a driver is installed.

Outbyte Driver Updater can reduce the work of hunting through many device entries and guessing which driver is stale; its free scan identifies issues, while driver installation is handled by the full version. For this particular file, repairing the game or finance application remains the definitive fix.

Do not remove a working driver merely because aossdk.dll is missing. If Device Manager shows no warning icons and other applications work normally, return to the parent application’s installer.

Fix 8: Use DISM and SFC only when Windows itself is damaged

Because aossdk.dll is a third-party application file, System File Checker will not normally restore it. Use these commands when Windows has broader symptoms, such as damaged built-in apps, update failures, or multiple system components failing.

  1. Open Start.
  2. Type Command Prompt.
  3. Right-click Command Prompt.
  4. Select Run as administrator.
  5. Run:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  1. Wait for it to finish.
  2. Then run:
sfc /scannow
  1. Restart Windows.
  2. Test the affected application.

Outbyte PC Repair can make the manual process less repetitive by scanning for system problems and showing what needs attention; the free scan identifies issues, while repair is handled by the full version. It is not required for this DLL, and reinstalling the application that owns the file remains the correct repair.

If SFC reports that it repaired files but the application still reports aossdk.dll, reinstall the parent program. Windows repair tools do not replace ordinary application files.

When regsvr32 applies, and why it usually does not here

regsvr32 is for DLLs that provide a registration entry point such as DllRegisterServer, commonly ActiveX controls or COM components. There is no evidence that aossdk.dll is a self-registering component.

Do not run:

regsvr32 aossdk.dll

It will not download, repair, or select the correct application version. It may instead report that the entry point was not found.

Use registration only when the application’s official documentation specifically tells you to register a particular DLL and provides the correct command and path.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

What not to do

Avoid these common repair attempts:

  • Do not download aossdk.dll from a random DLL website.
  • Do not use a DLL download sites utility.
  • Do not copy an unrelated build into C:WindowsSystem32 or C:WindowsSysWOW64.
  • Do not assume the newest listed version is correct.
  • Do not overwrite another application’s copy.
  • Do not permanently disable antivirus protection.
  • Do not run regsvr32 as a general DLL fix.
  • Do not use SFC expecting it to restore a game or brokerage file.

A random download can contain malware, use the wrong architecture, lack the exports the program expects, or fail the application’s integrity check. The safe source is the official installer, launcher, repair tool, or update process for the program that produced the error.

If the error remains

Collect this information before contacting the application’s support team:

  1. The exact error text.
  2. The parent program’s name and publisher.
  3. The full path of the executable and aossdk.dll.
  4. Whether the DLL exists in that folder.
  5. The file’s Properties and Details information.
  6. Any antivirus Protection History event.
  7. The date or event after which the failure began.
  8. Whether a clean reinstall and official update completed successfully.
  9. Any related message in Event Viewer under Windows Logs > Application.

This information distinguishes a missing file from a dependency failure, antivirus quarantine, damaged installation, or an integrity-check mismatch.

FAQ

Is aossdk.dll a Windows system file?

No. It is an application DLL. Windows does not provide it as a normal Windows, Visual C++, DirectX, or .NET component.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Who made aossdk.dll?

A documented build contains metadata identifying AhnLab, Inc. and the internal name aossdk. The filename alone cannot prove which application installed a particular copy.

Is it related to Korean banking or stock-trading software?

It can be. AhnLab Online Security is used for online financial transaction security, and some securities and OpenAPI packages include the DLL. Repair the specific bank or broker installation that displays the error.

Can a Ragnarok Online client use this file?

Some Ragnarok Online client distributions include aossdk.dll. Use the launcher’s file verification or reinstall the complete client rather than borrowing the DLL from another game installation.

Should I copy it to System32?

No. Put the correct file in the application’s own installation folder through its official installer or repair process.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Does a 64-bit Windows computer need a 64-bit copy?

Not necessarily. The documented build is 32-bit, and a 64-bit Windows system can run a 32-bit parent application. Do not substitute a different architecture.

Why does Windows say the specified module could not be found when the file exists?

A required dependency may be missing, the file may be corrupt or incompatible, antivirus may be blocking it, or the application may reject it during an integrity check.

Will System File Checker fix it?

Usually not. SFC repairs protected Windows files, while aossdk.dll belongs to a third-party application. Repair or reinstall that application first.
