Its final collection event, Neon Network, began July 25 and continued through August 8—one day after the season ended. The events and rewards below are historical; their past availability does not establish whether any item can be obtained now.
What was new in Apex Legends Season 17?
Arsenal’s launch brought a new Legend, a long-term weapon progression system, and changes to maps, Ranked, survival equipment and communication tools. These details describe the season’s 2023 launch, not necessarily the current game.

Ballistic and his abilities
Ballistic’s kit centered on keeping an additional weapon available and supporting nearby teammates:
- Sling: He could store a third weapon, but the weapon in the sling could not use attachments.
- Whistler: The tactical fired a projectile that heated an enemy’s weapon as they shot. If it overheated, it caused damage; holding the tactical button locked on to a target.
- Tempest: The ultimate gave nearby teammates faster reloads, faster movement while armed and infinite ammo. It also upgraded Ballistic’s sling weapon to gold.
Weapon Mastery
EA described Weapon Mastery as its first new long-term progression system outside account level. At launch, each weapon started at level 1. Using a weapon in any mode earned Weapon XP through actions such as dealing damage and securing kills. Weapon-specific trials unlocked every 20 levels; reaching level 100 and completing all five trials finished that weapon’s mastery track.

Rewards listed by EA included badges, performance trackers, Legendary banner frames and a Legendary Weapon Apex Pack for each weapon’s track.
Map, Ranked and communication changes
Arsenal updated World’s Edge. EA’s launch notes listed World’s Edge, Olympus and Kings Canyon in the public Battle Royale map rotation. The notes also described Ranked matchmaking and scoring changes, a conditional bonus system, seasonal rather than split resets, and a level-50 entry requirement.
The new Evac Tower was a portable loot item that functioned as a destructible jump tower. The default Ping Wheel gained “Avoid Area,” “Enemy Audio” and “Regroup,” while map pinging was expanded for marked objects and waypoints.

What was the Neon Network event?
EA called Neon Network the final collection event of Season 17. The collection ran July 25–August 8, 2023. Its associated Battle Royale story experience, “Kill Code: A Thief’s Bane,” ran July 21–August 8. As a result, the collection and story dates did not align exactly with Arsenal’s May 9–August 7 season dates.

In non-ranked Battle Royale matches, players could use the Node Tracker to locate leads to hack. Successful hacks provided loot and Compute Nodes, which were awarded after the match and could be spent in the event reward shop. Challenges refreshed daily, and EA set a daily limit on how many Compute Nodes could be earned.

Which skins and rewards were included?
Neon Network featured 24 limited-time virtual cosmetics, including Legendary skins for Ash, Ballistic and Caustic, among others. During the event, players could obtain items using Apex Coins, Crafting Metals or Neon Network Event Apex Packs.
Completing the full Neon Network collection before the event ended automatically granted Valkyrie’s Prestige skin, Apex Interceptor. These were event rewards from 2023; the cited announcements do not establish present-day store availability or whether the cosmetics can be reacquired.
