The latest cited balance notes set Tracker Dart’s reveal duration at 12 seconds and make Stinger Bolt’s pulses slow Sparrow and allies as well as enemies.
What does Sparrow do in Apex Legends?
Sparrow is Enea Davide Guarino, a Recon Legend introduced in Season 25: Prodigy. The kit works best as a sequence: use Double Jump to find a useful route or vantage point, place Tracker Dart to check an approach, then use Stinger Bolt to disrupt opponents or help your squad push. His abilities serve different jobs—movement, information, and space control—rather than functioning as three separate ways to deal damage. EA’s current Sparrow guide and launch introduction describe those roles and recommended uses.

Passive: Double Jump
Press jump while airborne to jump again. You can also press jump while climbing to launch Sparrow up the wall. Use the extra movement to reach a higher route, reposition for a clearer angle, or get out of an awkward spot—including a route out of the Ring when one is available. Double Jump does not reveal or damage enemies; use the position it creates to set up a dart or give your team a useful callout. EA’s guide documents both jump inputs and their route uses.
Sparrow also carries extra Bocek ammunition. EA’s September 2026 patch notes list Quiver capacity as 70 arrows and 12 explosive arrows per energize; these are ammunition details, not effects of the Double Jump itself. EA / Respawn Entertainment’s September 2026 notes provide those values.

Tactical: Tracker Dart
Tracker Dart is a placed trap. Enemies that enter its line of sight are revealed, and the reveal can be seen through walls. The dart can also activate Survey Beacons from afar. Place it to check a nearby approach or inspect a building before your squad commits to entering. EA’s launch explanation describes the reveal and remote beacon interaction, while the current guide recommends using darts to check areas and warns that an enemy who spots a dart may realize Sparrow is nearby.
The latest cited duration is 12 seconds, reduced from 15 seconds in EA / Respawn Entertainment’s 2025 balance notes. Do not assume an older description’s distance-marker detail—an enemy more than 40 meters away receiving a marker—is still a current HUD behavior; it appears in the launch material but is not repeated in the current guide. The 2025 patch notes establish the duration change.

Ultimate: Stinger Bolt
Stinger Bolt anchors a large arrow where it lands, charges, and releases six damaging blasts. Its pulses slow every player they affect, including Sparrow and his allies, so the field is not a one-sided obstacle. Use it to pressure opponents out of cover, interrupt a push, or create an opening for a coordinated entry; EA recommends pairing the Ultimate with grenades when supporting an attack. EA’s current guide describes the six blasts and offensive uses, and the 2025 balance notes document the slow effect on Sparrow’s team as well as opponents.
Opponents can counter the bolt by taking cover, leaving its zone, or shooting the arrow. Its health was reduced from 550 to 400 in EA / Respawn Entertainment’s 2025 balance update, so the current cited value is 400—not the launch value. EA’s launch introduction describes the counterplay, and the balance notes document the health reduction.

How to combine Sparrow’s abilities
- Choose a route with Double Jump. Reach a vantage point or angle that gives your squad a useful view without assuming the movement itself will reveal anyone.
- Check the approach with Tracker Dart. Place the trap where opponents are likely to cross its line of sight, or use its remote Survey Beacon interaction when appropriate. Account for the chance that an enemy who sees the dart will know Sparrow is nearby.
- Use Stinger Bolt to affect the next move. Place it to pressure opponents into moving, interrupt an advance, or support a team entry. Coordinate your own path and timing because the pulses also slow Sparrow and allies.
- Reposition rather than overcommit. Double Jump can help you change angle as the fight moves, while your team uses the information and space created by the other abilities.

What is known about Sparrow’s upgrades?
EA’s launch announcement listed Extra Traps and Hunt Target at Level 2, and Alternate Mode and Life Siphon at Level 3. The later 2025 notes changed Extra Traps to add one in-world trap rather than two. EA’s September 2026 notes still refer to a fix involving Hunt Target, but the current EA Help guide does not give a complete upgrade tree. Treat the launch list as an earlier description, not confirmation of every current option; check the live client for the choices available in your match.
