Apple Arcade added seven games on January 10, 2025—not 10. Apple announced a 10-game start-of-year slate, but PGA TOUR Pro Golf, Doodle Jump 2+, and My Dear Farm+ were scheduled for February 6. The January lineup mixed new Arcade releases with enhanced “+” editions of existing App Store games, so “exclusive” does not describe every title accurately.
Apple Arcade games released on January 10, 2025
| Game | What it is | Best for | Category and device note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skate City: New York | A new skateboarding game from Snowman and Agens featuring skate spots inspired by New York City. | Skateboarding fans | Apple Arcade launch; exact availability depends on device, software version, and region. |
| Gears & Goo | A spatial strategy game combining tower defense and base building. | Apple Vision Pro owners | Designed specifically for Apple Vision Pro. Check hardware and software compatibility before downloading. |
| Three Kingdoms HEROES | A strategy game from Koei Tecmo set in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms universe. | Historical strategy fans | Apple Arcade launch; platform support varies by title and region. |
| FINAL FANTASY+ | A remastered 2D version of the original Final Fantasy. | Classic RPG players | “+” Apple Arcade edition/App Store Great-style release, rather than necessarily a new Apple-exclusive game. |
| Trials of Mana+ | A mobile version of Square Enix’s action RPG. | Players seeking a longer-form action RPG | “+” Apple Arcade edition; confirm supported Apple devices in the Arcade listing. |
| Rodeo Stampede+ | A Wild West-themed arcade and endless-running game. | Short casual sessions | Enhanced Apple Arcade edition of an existing mobile title. |
| It’s Literally Just Mowing+ | A deliberately simple, relaxed mowing game. | Low-pressure play | “+” Apple Arcade edition; device support is not universal across Apple hardware. |
Apple’s January 10 announcement is the historical source for the release date and descriptions above. Apple Arcade games were marketed without ads or in-app purchases, but that does not mean every game is available on every Apple device.

The seven January releases in detail
Skate City: New York
Skate City: New York is the clearest choice for players who want a focused skating game. Its New York setting gives the Apple Arcade launch a recognizable real-world backdrop, while the game’s appeal is centered on skating through urban environments rather than managing a large RPG or strategy campaign.

Gears & Goo is the month’s most distinctive spatial-gaming release. It combines tower-defense mechanics with base building and was designed for Apple Vision Pro. That makes it a notable showcase for Apple’s spatial platform, although Vision Pro owners should still check the current listing for compatibility requirements.

Three Kingdoms HEROES
Three Kingdoms HEROES extends Koei Tecmo’s long-running Romance of the Three Kingdoms setting into Apple Arcade. It is the natural starting point for players more interested in historical conflict, planning, and strategy than in quick arcade sessions.
FINAL FANTASY+
FINAL FANTASY+ brings a remastered 2D version of the original Final Fantasy to the service. The plus sign matters: it identifies this as an Apple Arcade edition or App Store Great-style addition. It should not automatically be described as a brand-new Apple-exclusive production.
Trials of Mana+
Trials of Mana+ is aimed at players who want a more substantial action RPG. Apple presented it as a mobile version of Square Enix’s game, making it a different proposition from the shorter, immediately accessible titles elsewhere in the January lineup.

Rodeo Stampede+
Rodeo Stampede+ is an enhanced Arcade edition of an existing mobile game. Its arcade-and-endless-running format suits brief play sessions, but readers should view it as a polished addition to Apple’s subscription catalog rather than as a newly created Apple-exclusive IP.
It’s Literally Just Mowing+
It’s Literally Just Mowing+ is the most overtly relaxing game in the group. Its low-pressure premise makes it a good fit for casual players who want something uncomplicated, particularly when the goal is to play for a few minutes rather than begin a long campaign.
Three games announced for February 6, 2025
These games were part of Apple’s 10-game announcement, but they were not January releases:

| Game | Scheduled date | What Apple announced |
|---|---|---|
| PGA TOUR Pro Golf | February 6, 2025 | Apple’s first officially licensed PGA TOUR game. Apple said it supported iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro, subject to compatibility requirements. |
| Doodle Jump 2+ | February 6, 2025 | An Apple Arcade “+” edition of the established Doodle Jump series. |
| My Dear Farm+ | February 6, 2025 | An Apple Arcade “+” edition of the farming-focused game. |
Separating these titles from the January 10 releases avoids turning Apple’s 10-game announcement into an inaccurate claim that all 10 were playable during January.

Apple’s January update activity was broader than the seven new releases:
- Hello Kitty Island Adventure: The Luck & Lanterns event ran from January 19 through February 24, 2025, with a Year of the Snake and Lunar New Year theme.
- Game Room: The hidden-word game Word Wright was added on January 16 and was playable across Apple Vision Pro, iPhone, and iPad.
- WHAT THE CAR?: The game highlighted the 25 best community levels of 2024.
- Other updates: Apple also highlighted updates for NBA 2K25 Arcade Edition, Outlanders 2: Second Nature, Wheel of Fortune Daily, Snake.io+, Ridiculous Fishing EX, and other unspecified titles.
For subscribers, these ongoing events and additions can matter as much as a monthly launch list: they provide reasons to return to games already installed.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Are these Apple Arcade exclusives?
Not all of them. Apple separates its catalog into Arcade Originals and App Store Greats. Originals are positioned as games made or released for Apple Arcade and can be available across Apple platforms. App Store Greats are existing or previously released App Store games brought into the subscription catalog; many use a “+” suffix.
That distinction is why the safest wording is “Apple Arcade releases,” “Arcade Originals,” or “Apple Arcade editions.” A game being included with Apple Arcade does not automatically mean it is unavailable on Android, consoles, PC, or another storefront. It also does not guarantee support on every Apple device: availability depends on the particular title, hardware, operating system, and region.

Apple Arcade pricing in January 2025
Apple’s U.S. announcement on January 10, 2025 listed the following prices and offers:
- Apple Arcade: $6.99 per month.
- Standard trial: One month free.
- New Apple device offer: Three months free with an eligible new iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV.
- Apple One Individual: $19.95 per month.
- Apple One Family: $25.95 per month.
- Apple One Premier: $37.95 per month.
- Family access: One Arcade subscription could be shared with a family of up to six.
These are historical January 2025 U.S. prices, not a claim about the price in every country or the current price. Apple’s current Arcade page should be checked before subscribing. The commercial alternative is Apple One: it can make sense if you already pay for Apple Music, Apple TV, iCloud+, or other included services. If you only want games, standalone Arcade is the more focused option; see Apple’s current Apple One page for present pricing.
Subscription access is not ownership
Apple Arcade provides access while the subscription is active; it is not the same as permanently buying a game. Apple’s current Arcade policy says access ends when the subscription is canceled, although iCloud-enabled progress may remain available if you resubscribe later.
That makes Arcade a stronger fit for readers who want several ad-free games, play across compatible Apple devices, share with a household, or want to try RPGs and strategy games without separate purchases. It is a weaker fit if you want to own one particular title outright, mainly play on non-Apple platforms, or expect every addition to be a wholly new Apple-exclusive production.
Verdict
January 2025 was a varied Apple Arcade month rather than a 10-game January launch. The seven January 10 additions covered skating, spatial strategy, historical strategy, classic and action RPGs, arcade play, and relaxation. The strongest reasons to subscribe were the mix of genres, the inclusion of substantial RPGs, family sharing, and the Vision Pro-focused Gears & Goo. Readers expecting 10 brand-new exclusive games should lower that expectation: three titles were February announcements, and several January additions were “+” editions of existing mobile games.
