Both ARC Raiders and THE FINALS are slated for screen adaptations under a new partnership between Nexon and Chernin Entertainment. Nexon announced the deal on October 6, 2026, naming Chernin as lead producer and saying Embark Studios’ creative team will work closely with the company. No release dates, casts, distributors, or format assignments have been announced.
What Nexon announced
Nexon says it selected Chernin Entertainment, a film and television unit of The North Road Company, from several production companies and studios competing for adaptation rights. The partnership covers both Embark Studios games, with Chernin serving as lead producer and Embark’s creative team collaborating on the adaptations. Nexon’s October 6, 2026 announcement describes the projects as spanning film and television.
That wording confirms screen adaptations for both properties, but it does not say which game will become a film and which a series. It also does not establish whether either game will receive both formats. GamesRadar’s account of the announcement likewise notes that the format split is unclear and neither adaptation has a release date.
What the games could bring to screen
ARC Raiders
Nexon describes ARC Raiders as set on a dangerous future Earth ravaged by mysterious machines called ARC. Players take the role of Raiders, confronting the machines and rival Raiders while scavenging supplies to survive. That premise gives the adaptation a setting shaped by both survival and human competition, though no story or adaptation-specific plot has been announced. Nexon’s description

THE FINALS
THE FINALS is a free-to-play first-person shooter built around a virtual combat game show. Its arenas recreate cities such as Monaco and Las Vegas, and destruction is driven by server-side physics, according to Nexon. The announcement does not say how those game elements will translate into a film or television story. Nexon’s description
How large are the games, according to Nexon?
Nexon cited the following audience figures in announcing the deal. These are company-reported figures; they are not independently audited counts in the cited coverage, and they measure different things.

The announced arrangement identifies the producer and the games involved, but does not name a director, screenwriter, cast, distributor, or streaming platform. Nexon has not announced a release date or a production schedule, and no adaptation plot has been disclosed. It is therefore too early to say when viewers might see either project, or whether the adaptations will arrive in theaters, on television, or through a streaming service.

The deal is a change from the status Embark founder and CEO Patrick Söderlund described in January 2026, when he told GamesBeat that companies had approached the studio about adapting ARC Raiders, but nobody was then working on a film or television adaptation.
