Best all-round solo build
Solo players have to handle looting, traversal, ARC encounters, player ambushes, and extraction without a teammate covering a weakness. The strongest general-purpose path therefore combines stamina efficiency with quieter looting and extra carrying capacity.

Suggested milestone allocation
- At roughly 20–21 points: Marathon Runner 5/5, Youthful Lungs 5/5, Looter’s Instincts 5/5, Silent Scavenger 5/5, and Carry The Momentum.
- At roughly 40–41 points: add Calming Stroll, Effortless Roll 5/5, Broad Shoulders 5/5, and In-Round Crafting.
- At 75–76 points: add Slip and Slide 5/5, Looter’s Luck 5/5, and Security Breach.

Build 1: stamina and movement escape build
Choose this version if your biggest problem is crossing open ground, escaping ARC pressure, or reaching extraction with enough stamina to survive a last-second fight. It sacrifices some looting utility for movement depth.

- Max Youthful Lungs.
- Unlock and take Carry The Momentum after reaching its requirement of 15 Mobility points.
- Invest in Effortless Roll, then Heroic Leap for a longer Sprint Dodge Roll.
- Take Calming Stroll if you frequently need to recover between movements.
- Continue toward Vaults on Vaults on Vaults only for a movement-heavy endgame: it requires 36 Mobility points and either Heroic Leap or Vigorous Vaulter.
How to use it: sprint until you need to change direction, perform a Sprint Dodge Roll, then use the free-sprint window from Carry The Momentum. When safe, switch to walking rather than jogging so Calming Stroll can accelerate stamina recovery. Do not assume the skill works while crouch-walking or jogging.
Build 2: stealth looter build
This is the best choice for players who avoid unnecessary fights, search many containers, and want to leave the map before other players know where they are.
- Agile Croucher: increases crouch movement speed by approximately 2.5% per level, up to about 10%, and leads to Looter’s Instincts and Revitalizing Squat.
- Looter’s Instincts 5/5: speeds up loot reveals by about 25%.
- Silent Scavenger: reduces looting noise, not all Raider noise.
- Gentle Pressure: reduces breaching noise by approximately 5 metres per upgrade from a reported default range of about 100 metres. It does not affect ordinary movement or looting.
- Looter’s Luck: gives a chance for two items to be revealed during one search animation. It is not documented as a flat increase to rarity or a larger loot table.
Add In-Round Crafting when possible. The documented field-craftable items include Flame Spray, Shaker, Li’l Smoke Grenade, Light Impact Grenade, Fruit Mix, Shield Recharger, Adrenaline Shot, Agave Juice, and Bandage.
If you want an even quieter recovery option, Revitalizing Squat increases stamina regeneration while crouched by approximately 4% per level, up to 20%. It does not work while moving crouched, so use it while stationary.

Take this route if you regularly extract with valuable loot, become over-encumbered, or die after your shield breaks.
- Broad Shoulders 5/5: adds up to 10 maximum carry weight.
- Stubborn Mule: reduces the stamina-regeneration penalty from over-encumbrance. Testing reports approximately 11.6% improved regeneration at maximum level while standing still.
- Loaded Arms: reduces equipped-weapon weight impact on encumbrance by 50%; it requires A Little Extra.
- Unburdened Roll: makes the first Dodge Roll within roughly 20 seconds after your shield breaks cost no stamina. It requires Proficient Pryer and 15 Conditioning points.
- Fight Or Flight: restores stamina when a player hurts you, with reported maximum-level recovery of about 15.64% of a full stamina bar. It does not trigger from ARC damage.
- Good As New: increases stamina regeneration by approximately 18% while using a healing item. It ends when the healing effect ends and does not work during shield recharging.
This build is especially useful for solo players who treat every successful extraction as the objective rather than trying to win every encounter.

Skills that are useful only in specific situations
Suffer In Silence
Suffer In Silence reduces movement noise only while critically hurt. It requires Silent Scavenger and 15 Survival points, so it is a recovery skill rather than a general stealth upgrade.
Three Deep Breaths
Three Deep Breaths shortens exhaustion recovery by approximately 0.5 seconds per point after an ability drains stamina. It is not a universal reduction to every stamina cost and requires Stubborn Mule.

Vigorous Vaulter removes the normal vault-speed penalty while exhausted. It requires Crawl Before You Walk and is valuable if vaulting is part of your escape routes.

Slip and Slide
Slip and Slide increases sliding speed and distance. Current testing confirms its benefit most clearly when sliding downhill; flat-ground behavior is not confirmed.
Security Breach
Security Breach lets you breach Security Lockers and open Security Lockers that have already been breached. It requires 36 Survival points plus either Looter’s Luck or One Raider’s Scraps. This makes it a strong late-game loot objective, but an expensive early detour.

The current documented progression provides 76 level-earned Skill Points, with up to five additional points per completed Expedition. The Expedition requirement changed for Riven Tides on April 28, 2026, from accumulated stash value to a specified damage target; see GamesRadar’s report for that change.

You can spend points across Conditioning, Mobility, and Survival without being locked to one branch, but individual skills still require prerequisite points in their own branch. Plan around the branch thresholds before spending points on side upgrades.
How to reset your solo build
Open Raider → Skills and use the reset option. The current documented price is 2,000 Coins per Skill Point. The reset applies to the entire Skill Tree: you cannot reset only one branch or one skill. The feature was added in Version 1.7.0, so older guides that require an Expedition or Raider retirement are outdated. Details are maintained on the current Skill Tree page.
Because resets are full-tree and costly, test your preferred playstyle before committing to expensive late-branch skills. A stamina-and-stealth core remains useful even if you later convert the rest of the tree to loot, crafting, or combat recovery.
Important accuracy notes
Several numeric values in the current Skill Tree documentation are player-tested estimates rather than guaranteed official figures. Carry The Momentum’s cooldown, slide behavior, fall thresholds, and some exhaustion timings may change or require further testing. Embark also said in April 2026 that significant Skill Tree changes were being considered, but no retrieved source confirms that a redesign had shipped by August 7, 2026. Recheck the in-game descriptions after major patches.
