If ARC Raiders will not let you invite a friend across PC, PlayStation, or Xbox, check the party’s Crossplay setting first—not just the host’s. One member with Crossplay disabled forces the whole party to queue without crossplay. You also need to add the player through an Embark ID, use the Lobby invite controls, and make sure every player’s server is set to Automatic.
ARC Raiders crossplay platforms
ARC Raiders supports cross-platform social play across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The current official platform list also includes Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GeForce NOW. Cross-platform progress, purchases, cosmetics, and friends are connected through an Embark ID.

You must use an Embark ID to play. One Embark ID can link one account on each supported platform, including Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games, Discord, and Twitch.

The most important rule is that ARC Raiders uses the most restrictive Crossplay setting in the party. If even one player has Crossplay turned off, the entire party queues with Crossplay off. It is therefore not enough for the inviter or party leader to enable it; every member must check their own setting.

On PC
- Select the Gear icon at the bottom-right of the screen.
- Open Gameplay.
- Find Crossplay and turn it on.
- In the same settings area, set Server to Automatic.
On PlayStation and Xbox
- Open the Social menu.
- Select the Gear icon on the left.
- Open Gameplay.
- Turn Crossplay on.
- Set Server to Automatic.
These are the current settings paths documented in Embark’s matchmaking troubleshooting guide. Have every player make the change on their own account, then recreate the party or send the invitation again.
2. Add the player by Embark ID
For a cross-platform friend, use the in-game Social menu rather than relying on a platform-native friends list. From the Lobby:

- Select Social at the bottom-right.
- Open the Friends tab.
- Select Add Friend in the upper-right.
- Enter the player’s Embark ID and select Add Friend.
- Wait for the other player to accept the request.
The player may not appear on your friend list until the request has been accepted.

Include the discriminator
If the player’s display name is shared by other accounts, the complete ID must include its discriminator in this format: DisplayName#1234. To find it in ARC Raiders, open Main Menu > Social > profile > Show Discriminator. Confirm that both players are using the full Embark ID, not only the visible display name. Embark documents this requirement in its display-name and discriminator guide.

3. Invite the friend from the Lobby
Once the friend has accepted the Embark ID request:
- Return to the Lobby.
- Select the circular + icon above the Play widget.
- Choose the friend or recent player.
- Send the party invite.
- The recipient must accept the invitation to join.
The documented ARC Raiders workflow is Embark-ID friendship followed by the Lobby’s + invite control. The official friends-and-parties support article does not present Steam, PlayStation, or Xbox platform-native invites as the primary method.

Invite someone from your previous round
You can invite a recent teammate without adding them as an Embark ID friend first:

- Open the Recent tab.
- Select the player.
- Choose Invite to Party.
This is useful when you remember the player from a previous match but do not have their complete Embark ID.

If the party still cannot match
Set every player’s server to Automatic
Confirm the Server setting on every account and change it to Automatic. On PC, use Gear > Gameplay > Server. On console, use Social > Gear > Gameplay > Server.
Sync the device clock
Embark identifies an unsynchronized device clock as a matchmaking failure mode. Sync the clock on any affected PC or console if you cannot find a match, or if standard maps work but maps with conditions do not. This is a device-level fix rather than an Embark ID or invite fix.
Recheck the party, not just the leader
If invitations work but the group cannot enter cross-platform matchmaking, ask every party member to verify Crossplay again. A single disabled setting changes the queue for the entire party.
Account for current Xbox issues
Embark’s Live Update 1.39.0 notes, updated July 30, 2026, list ongoing crashes affecting some Xbox players, particularly on Xbox Series S. The note does not identify this as an invite-specific problem, but a crash can interrupt party formation or matchmaking. If the issue occurs only for one Xbox player, update the game and check Embark’s current support notices.
What to check in order
- Both players are using ARC Raiders accounts connected to Embark IDs.
- The friend request was sent with the complete ID, including
#1234when required. - The recipient accepted the friend request.
- Every party member has Crossplay turned on.
- Every party member has Server set to Automatic.
- The invitation was sent from the Lobby’s circular + icon.
- If using a recent teammate, the invite was sent through Social > Recent > Invite to Party.
- The affected device clock is synchronized.
These steps reflect Embark’s documented friends, parties, and matchmaking procedures. The relevant support pages were updated on October 27, 2025, and February 27, 2026; Live Update 1.39.0 does not announce a removal or rename of the Crossplay setting or a general deprecation of party invites.
