The first fix for ARC Raiders’ “Corrupted Install Detected” message is to verify the game files in Steam: open Library, right-click ARC Raiders, choose Properties → Installed Files, then select Verify integrity of game files. However, a successful validation does not guarantee the problem is solved. Players have reported receiving the same error after Steam validated every file and after completely reinstalling the game.
Treat the message as a broad PC-troubleshooting symptom rather than proof that the installation is permanently damaged. Depending on when it appears, the likely area to investigate includes DirectX, GPU drivers, RAM stability, Easy Anti-Cheat, or a runtime crash.

What the error means
ARC Raiders displays “Corrupted Install Detected” followed by “One or more files in your installation are corrupted or missing. Please reinstall the game.” Reports place the error in several situations: immediately at launch, at the main menu, while loading into or rejoining a raid, during extraction, and after several apparently normal raids.

An error that appears only after sustained play may instead point to a driver issue, a crash, or marginal hardware instability. This is a troubleshooting inference from player reports, not an official diagnosis.

The error can also be costly: players report being removed from raids while carrying loot and losing loadouts or raid rewards.
1. Verify ARC Raiders’ files in Steam
- Open Steam and go to Library.
- Right-click ARC Raiders and select Properties.
- Open Installed Files.
- Select Verify integrity of game files.
- Wait for Steam to finish, then restart Steam and launch the game again.

If Steam reports that all files were successfully validated but the message returns, do not assume the verification was useless or that repeatedly running it will solve the underlying problem. Players have reported messages such as All 215 files successfully validated followed by another failure, including at the main menu.
2. Do not repeatedly reinstall without changing the diagnosis
A full reinstall is reasonable if verification identifies files it cannot repair, or if the installation is clearly incomplete. It is not a dependable universal fix for this error. Reports describe the message returning after multiple verification attempts, a full reinstall, and even several reinstallations.
If the error returns after a clean reinstall, move on to system-level checks instead of repeating the same installation cycle. Record whether the failure happens at launch, during a raid, after several hours, or only when rejoining a session.

3. Test the DirectX launch options
Some players report improvement after forcing ARC Raiders to use DirectX 11, while others report no change. The opposite option, DirectX 12, is also worth testing if the game was already using DirectX 11 or if the first test fails.
How to add a launch option
- In Steam, open Library.
- Right-click ARC Raiders and choose Properties.
- Stay on the General page.
- Enter
-dx11in the Launch Options field. - Close the properties window and start the game.
If the error remains, replace -dx11 with -dx12 and test again. Use only one of these options at a time, and remove the option afterward if neither mode helps.
Neither flag is a confirmed universal fix. The same player discussion contains successful reports, failures, and users who tried both modes without resolving the problem.
4. Check RAM stability, including XMP or EXPO
Several players associate the error with memory settings. One reported that disabling the XMP RAM profile stopped the problem; another reported success after reducing memory speed from 3600 MHz to 3200 MHz.
These are player-reported correlations, not a confirmed ARC Raiders root cause. Nevertheless, they are worth testing if the error appears after sustained play, if the PC has recently been overclocked, or if the system is using an aggressive XMP or EXPO profile.

Safe diagnostic test
- Restart the PC and enter the motherboard’s UEFI/BIOS setup.
- Temporarily disable XMP or EXPO, or return memory to the motherboard’s default speed.
- Save the setting, boot Windows, and test ARC Raiders.
If the error disappears, the result suggests that the system may be marginally memory-unstable under ARC Raiders’ workload—even if other games appear stable. It does not prove that ARC Raiders is the only cause. For a permanent adjustment, consult your motherboard and memory documentation rather than applying an arbitrary voltage or timing change.

Players have reported trying current drivers, rolling drivers back, and changing driver versions without a single version emerging as a universal solution. If the error began after a driver update, testing the previous stable driver can be reasonable. If the driver is old or the issue began after a Windows or game update, installing the current driver may be more appropriate.
One player also reported success after updating the GPU driver and changing NVIDIA DLSS from Quality to Balanced. Treat this as a low-risk settings test, not a required configuration or confirmed fix.
Do not rely on old articles that present a specific historical driver—such as GeForce Hotfix Display Driver 581.94—as the current recommended solution. Driver compatibility changes over time, so use the driver offered for your GPU by its manufacturer and note which version was installed when the problem changes.
6. Investigate Easy Anti-Cheat symptoms
Some reports pair the corruption message with Easy Anti-Cheat symptoms, including an “untrusted system file” error. Other players attribute persistent failures to stale or duplicate EAC components. That evidence does not show that every ARC Raiders corruption message is caused by EAC.
Before attempting advanced cleanup, complete the safer steps above and check whether the failure is accompanied by an explicit EAC message. If ARC Raiders provides its own Easy Anti-Cheat installer or repair option in the game’s installation folder, use that supported interface and run it with administrator privileges only when required by the installer.
Anecdotal reports describe removing old EAC services and leftover files, rebooting, reinstalling ARC Raiders, and then running the game’s EAC installer as administrator. There is no vendor-confirmed service name, command sequence, or general cleanup procedure in the available evidence.
Do not routinely delete EAC registry keys or services. That Reddit-sourced procedure can disable anti-cheat or affect other games, and it is not an official Embark, Epic Online Services, Easy Anti-Cheat, Steam, or Microsoft fix.
7. Check Windows and storage health only as diagnostics

Run them only if you understand their scope. chkdsk C: /f may schedule a check for the next restart, and important data should be backed up before storage troubleshooting.

8. Remove possible leftovers from an old playtest installation
A third-party report suggests that leftover ARC Raiders playtest files or EAC components can interfere with a release installation. The available sources do not provide an official Embark cleanup path or confirm that this remains a release-wide issue.
If you previously installed a playtest, avoid deleting random folders or registry entries. Prefer Steam’s normal uninstall and reinstall process, remove only clearly identified leftover game folders after backing up relevant data, and use official support if the old installation appears to share anti-cheat components with other games.
A practical order for troubleshooting
- Document the timing: note whether the error occurs at launch, in the menu, during a raid, on extraction, or after hours of play.
- Verify Steam files.
- Test
-dx11, then-dx12if necessary. - Update or roll back the GPU driver based on when the issue started; if using NVIDIA, test DLSS Balanced.
- Temporarily disable XMP/EXPO or return RAM to default speed.
- Check for EAC-specific errors and use only supported repair options.
- Run Windows or disk diagnostics if there are wider system symptoms.
- Reinstall once if verification or leftover-installation evidence justifies it—not as an automatic response to every recurrence.
What the available evidence does—and does not—show
File verification, reinstalling, DirectX launch options, driver changes, DLSS changes, memory-profile changes, Windows updates, and EAC cleanup have each helped individual players. The same reports also document recurrence or failure after those steps. As a result, no single confirmed universal fix is established for the PC error.

Immediate failures justify installation, launcher, and anti-cheat checks. Failures after several successful raids make runtime, driver, and hardware-stability checks more important. If changing one setting consistently stops the error, restore other variables and test methodically so you can identify the change rather than accumulating unrelated fixes.
