You do not need to carry physical LiDAR Scanner items, and the objectives can be completed in any order across separate raids.
Eyes in the Sky LiDAR Scanner locations

Each installation is a separate objective. You can complete them in any order and do not have to finish all three in one raid. The installation should register immediately at the tripod; extraction is not required for that individual objective to update.
Dam Battlegrounds: Control Tower
The Dam Battlegrounds objective is on the roof of the Control Tower near the center of the map. This is the most dangerous route of the three because the tower is a high-traffic PvP area.
- Approach the Control Tower from the south and use the exterior stairs.
- Climb the first three flights to the main-floor level. Do not continue all the way up the outside stairs.
- Follow the long exterior hallway and enter through the door at the far end.
- Continue to the breachable door leading into the lift shaft. Breach it if it is closed.
- Before taking the upward zipline, look above the shaft and destroy any turrets. They can kill you during the ascent.
- Take the upward zipline, follow the corridor, and breach the door leading to the roof.
- On the roof, go to the tripod at the east corner and use the yellow interaction prompt to install the scanner.
GameSpot’s route guide also warns that players may trap the upper zipline, wait at its lower end, or patrol the internal key-room route. Listen for nearby activity and avoid committing to the ascent if the area is contested.

Spaceport: Communications Tower
The Spaceport objective is at the Communications Tower on the eastern side of the map.
- Reach the Communications Tower.
- Climb the tower’s yellow ladder to the upper platform.
- Follow the platform walkway to the tripod.
- Use the interaction prompt to install the LiDAR Scanner.
If the prompt does not appear immediately, continue to the highest reachable platform and reposition near the platform edge and tripod. The interaction can be easy to miss when you are standing too far away.
Buried City: Galleria sign
Buried City’s scanner is on the walkway near the top of the Galleria sign, on the eastern side of the map. The normal rooftop route does not reach the tripod: you need a Zipline.
- Approach the Galleria from the south.
- Climb the square structures on the building south of the Galleria.
- Cross the makeshift bridge to reach the Galleria rooftop.
- From the roof, place a Zipline toward the upper walkway near the top of the Galleria sign.
- Ride the Zipline to the sign walkway.
- Interact with the tripod to install the final scanner.
Zipline placement is the key difficulty. A line placed too low may not reach the required walkway, so aim high at the upper section near the top of the sign. Bringing an extra Zipline is worthwhile in case the first placement fails.
Do you need LiDAR Scanners in your inventory?
No. Eyes in the Sky does not require you to find, carry, or extract with three physical LiDAR Scanner items. At each correct tripod, the game provides the installation through the on-screen interaction prompt.
Physical LiDAR Scanner pickups are associated with other objectives, including A Lay of the Land. Confusing that quest with Eyes in the Sky is the source of the repeated advice to bring three scanners.

Do you have to extract after installing one?
Not for the installation to count. Each completed installation can update as soon as you interact with the tripod. The three objectives can also be spread across multiple raids, so extracting after one installation is a practical way to preserve progress when the area becomes unsafe.

The reward listing reported in a guide updated June 6, 2026 is 3 Tagging Grenades, 1 Vita Spray, and 5 Yellow Light Sticks. Older pages list Simple Gun Parts, Duct Tape, and Magnets instead; those rewards conflict with the later listing and should not be treated as the current reward set.

Quick troubleshooting checklist
- No scanner item: You do not need one in your inventory; find the correct tripod and look for the interaction prompt.
- Dam route blocked: Breach the closed door before the lift shaft and the door leading to the roof.
- Dam ascent fails: Check above the lift shaft and destroy turrets before using the upward zipline.
- Spaceport prompt missing: Climb to the highest reachable platform and move close to the tripod or platform edge.
- Buried City walkway unreachable: Place a Zipline from the Galleria roof to the upper walkway near the top of the sign, not a lower section.
- One objective still incomplete: Confirm that all three maps have been visited; the locations can be completed across separate raids.
