To complete Eyes in the Sky in ARC Raiders, place a LiDAR Scanner at three tripods: on the Control Tower roof at Dam Battlegrounds, at the Communications Tower on Spaceport, and on the Galleria sign in Buried City. Activate the quest, reach each tripod, and use its interaction prompt; the walkthroughs say you do not need to extract for placement progress to count.
Quest requirements and rewards
Shani gives Eyes in the Sky after A Lay Of The Land. The quest asks you to install scanners high up at three locations. You do not need to bring a separate physical scanner: activate the quest and interact with the tripod when you reach it. Shani’s quest line, recorded by the ARC Raiders Wiki, advises bringing a Zipline or two because some placements are high up.

The wiki lists a Zipline as a quest-granted item, but check the active quest state to confirm it is available before deploying. Its reward list is 3 Tagging Grenades, 1 Vita Spray, and 5 Yellow Light Sticks. All Things How lists Red rather than Yellow Light Sticks, so check the live reward panel if the color matters.
Where to place each LiDAR Scanner
| Map and landmark | Access route | Traversal and risks |
|---|---|---|
| Dam Battlegrounds — Control Tower roof | Approach from the south, take the stairs to the main floor, follow the outside hallway, and breach the liftshaft entrance. Deal with the turrets above, ride the upward Zipline, then follow the corridor to the roof tripod. | Zipline and breaching route; turrets and high PvP exposure. |
| Spaceport — Communications Tower | Go to the tower on the east side of Spaceport, climb its ladder, and follow the platform walkway to the tripod. | Ladder and walkway; guides describe this as the simplest placement. |
| Buried City — Galleria sign | Reach the Galleria rooftop, then use a Zipline to access the sign’s top walkway and interact with its tripod. | Zipline traversal is required for the top walkway. |
Dam Battlegrounds: Control Tower roof
This is the route with the most clearly documented danger. GameSpot identifies the Control Tower as a high-traffic PvP area. Its suggested approach is from the south: take the stairs to the main floor, use the outside hallway, and find the breachable liftshaft entrance. PC Gamer’s walkthrough advises shooting the turrets above before ascending the shaft on its upward Zipline. At the top, follow the corridor onto the roof and place the scanner at the tripod. The route details are described by GameSpot and PC Gamer.

Spaceport: Communications Tower
Head to the Communications Tower on Spaceport’s east side. Climb the ladder and follow the platform walkway until you reach the tripod, then interact to install the scanner. This is the most straightforward of the three routes in the walkthroughs from PC Gamer and DamnModz.
Buried City: Galleria sign
Get onto the Galleria rooftop, then use an in-game Zipline to reach the sign’s top walkway. Place the scanner at the tripod there. This is the placement where Zipline traversal is most plainly necessary; the PC Gamer and DamnModz walkthroughs describe this route.

Order, progress, and troubleshooting
The placements can be completed across separate raids and in any order. DamnModz recommends doing Spaceport before the more exposed Control Tower route and leaving Buried City for last; that is a suggested risk-management order, not a quest requirement.

- No placement prompt: Confirm Eyes in the Sky is active and that you are at the tripod on the highest accessible platform. DamnModz notes that reaching the wrong elevation can prevent the interaction.
- Progress after placing a scanner: GameSpot and DamnModz say extraction is not required for the placement to count.
- Quest completion: After all three placements register, return to Shani to close out the quest.
Walkthrough details and objective locations are consistent across the quest reference and guides, but the reward color differs between sources. The ARC Raiders Wiki page was last edited August 7, 2026; check the in-game quest and reward panels if they differ from guide text.
