Later reports of doors appearing open when they were actually closed describe a different problem—not proof that the original exploit returned.
What the infamous door glitch was
The headline’s “door glitch” refers to players bypassing locked-room doors to access loot without the key the game intended them to need. That is an exploit: it circumvents a gameplay restriction, rather than simply leaving a door stuck or displaying its state incorrectly.
Embark’s Patch 1.4.0 notes said, “Exploit mitigation mechanisms have been added for all locked rooms across all maps.” The November 27, 2025 update also closed exterior access to the locked room in Spaceport’s Control Tower. Embark said the update was rolling out on all platforms and advised players to restart the client.
Why flamethrowers became part of the story
PC Gamer reported that the mitigation included flamethrowers inside locked rooms, intended to burn players who entered illicitly. That made unauthorized entry dangerous; it should not be mistaken for confirmation that the underlying collision exploit had been eliminated. The official patch notes describe mitigation, not a claim that every possible way through a locked door was permanently fixed.

Why a fast fix can be risky
In a February 20, 2026 interview, Embark Studios design director Virgil Watkins said wall glitches can involve physics and networking built into how the game works. “And those things are very risky to patch rapidly,” he explained. His comments offer general context for wall glitches, not a confirmed technical diagnosis of every ARC Raiders door issue.
What the September 2026 door fixes addressed
A third-party reproduction of ARC Raiders’ September 22, 2026 update notes for version 1.47.0 describes two door-related fixes: doors that appeared open locally while actually remaining closed, and door blockers that duplicated their mesh on the opposite side. These are synchronization and blocker-geometry problems. They are distinct from clipping through a locked door to get into a restricted room.

The available patch record therefore documents later door fixes, but does not establish that the original locked-room exploit returned. A player saying “door glitch” may mean several different things:
- Clipping into a locked room: the original access exploit, mitigated in Patch 1.4.0.
- A door that seems open but cannot be passed: a displayed-versus-actual-state mismatch described in the September 2026 notes.
- A blocker that looks wrong or duplicated: a mesh issue described in those same notes.
- A door stuck in place: a broad symptom that does not, on its own, identify the cause.
Is the community really at a “breaking point”?
That phrase is an editorial characterization, not a measured finding. A September 2026 Reddit thread asks, “Is there a workaround for the door glitch?” and includes individual complaints and anecdotes. Those posts show that players discussed door problems; they do not establish how many players were affected or represent the community as a whole.

Embark’s September 30, 2026 anti-cheat update is separate context, not evidence about door glitches. It reported that a matchmaking measure aimed at known pre-raid teaming groups was followed five days later by 85% fewer players engaging in that behavior, with spoiled raids falling from around 1 in 50 to around 1 in 300 and no meaningful impact to queue times. Those figures concern pre-raid coordination—not door exploits, door bugs, or player sentiment.
