Magnetron is an Epic, recyclable Exodus material in ARC Raiders. It is currently used for the Snap And Salvage quest, which requires one Magnetron and one Flow Controller to be delivered to Tian Wen. You can find Magnetrons by scavenging Stella Montis, especially around the Assembly and Assembly Workshops, but there is no confirmed guaranteed spawn.
What is the Magnetron used for?
Magnetron is ordinary salvage loot rather than a special quest-only item. Its confirmed gameplay uses are:

Where to find Magnetron in ARC Raiders
Stella Montis is the only confirmed map source. Current databases classify Magnetron as scavenged loot on Stella Montis. It is not confirmed to spawn on another map.

Magnetron locations are randomized. No particular drawer, locker, cart, storage unit, room, or medical area is a guaranteed spawn. Search the following areas first because they have produced Magnetrons in reported runs:

Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →- Assembly and Assembly Workshops: search the upper levels and nearby containers. Shacknews reported finding one in a random drawer in the eastern Assembly Workshops, near the Assembly Hatch, but the container was not a fixed spawn.
- Lobby/Atrium connecting corridor: PC Gamer reported finding one in a storage unit in a side room off the corridor linking the Atrium and Lobby. Treat this as a useful search area, not a guaranteed location.
- Security Checkpoint: this area has been reported as productive for Epic crafting materials. Search its containers while completing nearby objectives, but do not assume every raid will contain a Magnetron.
Reported locations are observations of random loot, not confirmed spawn points. Your fastest approach is to search high-value containers throughout Stella Montis rather than repeatedly checking one supposedly fixed drawer.

How to complete Snap And Salvage
- Enter Stella Montis and search the Assembly, Assembly Workshops, Lobby/Atrium corridor, and Security Checkpoint.
- Collect 1× Magnetron and 1× Flow Controller. Both items are affected by random loot availability.
- If your loadout has a Safe Pocket, move the Magnetron into it as soon as you find it.
- Extract successfully. A Magnetron carried in your normal inventory can be lost if your Raider dies.
- Deliver both items to Tian Wen to finish the quest.
In the Security Checkpoint, the relevant interaction labels are “Security, Restricted Access” and “Security.” The papers objective is completed in a ground-floor office overlooking the Lobby. The checkpoint sits on the east side of the Lobby near the Security Bridge map text.

How to protect a Magnetron after finding it
Use the Safe Pocket if your loadout provides one. This is the safest way to preserve the item during the rest of the raid. A Free Loadout does not provide a way to secure the Magnetron in this manner.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteIf you have a Raider Hatch Key, the Assembly Hatch near the Assembly search area can provide a fast extraction option. That can reduce the time you spend carrying the item through Stella Montis, although the extraction route still depends on the situation in your raid.

If you do not need the Magnetron for Snap And Salvage, compare its quest value with its recycling value before breaking it down. Recycling gives a Magnetic Accelerator and Steel Spring; salvaging gives Advanced Mechanical Components. Once the quest is active, keeping the first Magnetron you find is usually the practical choice because another one is not guaranteed to appear in the same run.
What not to believe about Magnetron locations and uses
- It does not have a confirmed fixed spawn: Assembly, Medical Research, the Lobby, and individual drawers or storage units are reported search spots, not guaranteed locations.
- It is not confirmed as a general weapon-upgrade material: current databases list recycling and the Snap And Salvage requirement instead.
- It is not currently a Project or Expedition-stage requirement: the current item page lists no Projects requiring Magnetron.
- It is not itself a special quest item: it is an Epic recyclable item consumed for a quest alongside the Flow Controller.
Quick answer
Find Magnetron by scavenging Stella Montis, prioritizing the Assembly and Assembly Workshops, particularly the upper levels, then checking the Lobby/Atrium corridor and Security Checkpoint. Loot is RNG-based, so no location is guaranteed. Keep one for Snap And Salvage, secure it in your Safe Pocket when possible, and deliver it with one Flow Controller to Tian Wen. Otherwise, recycling yields one Magnetic Accelerator and one Steel Spring, while salvaging yields one Advanced Mechanical Components.
Magnetron was added in patch 1.2.0; the current item page was last edited June 23, 2026. Verify quest and item requirements after future patches.
