For a first targeted search, head to the Primary Facility on Dam Battlegrounds and check the shelves inside red and blue shipping containers, along with nearby searchable objects and vehicles. No route guarantees a Motor; use these locations as search priorities and plan an extraction rather than lingering in one spot.
Where to look for Motors
Guide recommendations point to a mix of containers and vehicles. Search both: one guide emphasizes container shelves at Dam Battlegrounds, while another focuses on vehicle engines and vehicle-dense areas. The available guides do not establish a controlled comparison of their loot odds.

Pick the sweep that fits your current risk tolerance and extraction plan, rather than treating the busiest vehicle area as automatically best.

What the reported numbers do—and do not—show
Gamer Guides attributes community loot data to a distribution of Motor finds: 59% from cars, 29% from containers, and 12% from breachable containers. The passage does not state the sample size, collection period, or methodology, so these figures are not authoritative item drop rates and should not be treated as a prediction for an individual run. The guide also reports a map distribution of 60% Dam Battlegrounds, 30% Blue Gate, 10% Stella Montis, and 0% each for Buried City and Spaceport in the data it describes. Raider Grid offers six maps, route planning, and an “Only verified” filter. Its page identifies its data release as RG-2026.07 and describes a combination of reviewed locations and attributed static coordinate snapshots. The Blue Gate map lists 102 Car markers, compared with 41 on Spaceport. Those counts describe map markers, not Motor-bearing vehicles or loot odds. What Motors are used for
Gamer Guides reports that the Refiner Level 3 upgrade requires three Motors, Bombardier Shells, and Arc Circuitry, and enables refining Rare and Epic parts. Because the requirement may change with patches and this figure is guide-reported rather than verified against a current official source, check the Refiner screen in-game before planning a farming run around it.
