The most reliable place to find a Power Rod in ARC Raiders is the Power Generation Complex in northeast Dam Battlegrounds, near the Generator Halls. Search the large electrical cabinets inside the complex, but expect random spawns rather than a guaranteed pickup. You can also craft one at Refiner 3, recycle specific items, or earn one from the Groundbreaking quest.
Where to find Power Rods
The best-documented search area is the Power Generation Complex in northeast Dam Battlegrounds. Once inside, search the large electrical cabinets in the tunnels, especially those in the large room with terminals and machinery. These cabinets are the most commonly reported local source.
Power Rods are not guaranteed to appear in one fixed location. A failed search does not mean the complex cannot contain one on a later run. The current item data also lists Scavenging, Crafting, Recycling, and the Groundbreaking quest as acquisition methods.
Other ways to obtain one
- Groundbreaking: awards 1 Power Rod.
- Recycling: a Matriarch Reactor, Queen Reactor, or Snap Hook can each produce 1 Power Rod.
- Crafting: requires Advanced Electrical Components and ARC Circuitry.
The Power Generation Complex can be dangerous because of player traffic and a nearby Rocketeer patrol, so searching there is not risk-free.

Some older or conflicting guides list ordinary Electrical Components. The current recipe reported by the ARC Raiders Wiki and corroborated by PC Gamer uses Advanced Electrical Components.
What Power Rods are used for
Power Rod is an Epic Refined Material with a stack size of 3, weight of 1.0, and value of 5,000, according to the current item listing. Its uses include crafting, recycling, the Tribute To Toledo quest, and opening a locked room in the Power Generation Complex.

How to open the Power Rod door
The locked room is inside the Power Generation Complex on the east to east-southeast side of Dam Battlegrounds. It does not use a keycard. Bring one Power Rod and use the interaction panel to the left of the door. Opening the door consumes the rod, so every subsequent visit requires another one.
Route from outside
- Use the zipline outside the complex to reach the small window.
- Enter through the window and take the door on the left.
- Continue until you reach the Power Rod door.
An alternate outside route is to drop into the long corridor alongside the complex, travel to its eastern end, enter through the door on the right, and continue through the next door.

Route from inside the building
- Pass the Generator Room and clear the hallway.
- Enter the main room.
- Find the yellow server cabinets.
- Look for the locked door across from them.
- Use the panel beside the door and spend one Power Rod.
What is inside the room?
The room contains red lockers and randomized containers. Rare or Epic loot can appear, but a guaranteed weapon or fixed high-tier loot table has not been verified. Treat the door as an opportunity for randomized loot rather than a guaranteed weapon reward.
Using a Power Rod for Tribute To Toledo
Tribute To Toledo requires 1 Power Rod, which you deliver to Celeste. The rod does not need to come from the Power Generation Complex: a Power Rod crafted at Refiner 3 or obtained by recycling can be delivered directly to Celeste.

Should you use your first Power Rod for the door?
Usually, keep the rod if you need it for Tribute To Toledo, a Heavy Shield, a Powered Descender, a Snap Hook, or Snap Hook repairs. Open the door only when you specifically want its randomized containers and are prepared to lose the rod permanently. Because the item stacks only to 3 and the door consumes one per visit, spare rods are worth extracting rather than treating every find as immediate door access.
