In May, the studio said major updates would arrive twice a year, while routine live updates, fixes, store updates and events would continue. The next major update, Frozen Trail, was scheduled for October 8, 2026; as of October 4, it had not yet been released.
What is the current ARC Raiders roadmap?
The clearest current plan is a twice-yearly cadence for major updates, alongside ongoing live-service work between them. Embark’s January roadmap described monthly updates as its aim at the time, but its later May announcement changed that expectation. The studio cautioned in January that its plans could change. Embark Executive Producer Aleksander Grøndal said the studio had decided to release major updates twice a year, with a larger scale and the goal of changing how players experience the game. That cadence applies to major updates, not every patch or event.

Embark described its continuing operations this way: “a dedicated live service team will continue running ARC Raiders day-to-day.” Its reassurance makes an important distinction: fewer major content drops does not mean the game goes without routine support between them.

When is Frozen Trail coming to ARC Raiders?
Embark’s official site listed Frozen Trail for October 8, 2026. That is a scheduled release date, not confirmation that the update is already live: the date of this article’s information is October 4, 2026. The announcement called it the largest update since launch. Official ARC Raiders site
What Frozen Trail is expected to add
Embark’s May update described these planned elements:
- A new, largest-in-game landscape containing mysteries.
- A major ARC Operation, with new enemies and behaviors.
- New progression goals for Raiders who had reached the existing progression ceilings, plus an improved skill tree.
- New weapons, items, instruments, cosmetics and other additions.
These are the features Embark outlined for Frozen Trail; the announcement does not provide a complete list of every addition or a detailed breakdown of how each system will work.

Beyond the named update, Embark has described broad priorities rather than a dated schedule of future features. Its stated direction includes deeper progression, more ways for players to shape and personalize Raiders, Trials that stay reliably fun rather than becoming grind-heavy, and a more rewarding, less punishing Expedition Project.

Embark also framed Frozen Trail as an early step toward revealing ARC’s origins and advancing the larger goal of reclaiming the surface. The studio has said it wants the wider ARC Raiders universe to expand with gameplay, progression, narrative and the world moving forward together. These are goals, not commitments to particular features or release dates.
Is there a roadmap after Frozen Trail?
Embark has not provided a detailed post-Frozen Trail roadmap or a specific 2027 content schedule in the announcements covered here. The January post said more would follow after Escalation, and the May update said the studio would share more in the coming months. Neither statement establishes what a later major update will contain or when it will arrive.

For now, the useful distinction is between confirmed direction and unannounced specifics: the major-update cadence and Frozen Trail plans have been stated, while later content dates and feature lists remain unconfirmed. The roadmap is subject to change.

The official site lists Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and GeForce NOW, and describes cross-platform social play across PC and consoles.
