ARC Raiders’ October 17–19, 2025 Server Slam reached a reported peak of 189,668 concurrent players on Steam, a substantial sign of pre-launch interest. It was not a sales forecast: the free, limited test was built partly to stress the game’s servers, and its Steam count excludes players on other platforms.
How many people played the ARC Raiders Server Slam?
GameSpot reported that the test peaked at 189,668 concurrent Steam players. That is the number of people playing simultaneously at the peak, not the total number of unique participants. It also covers Steam only, not the full audience across PC and consoles. GameSpot’s report provides the contemporaneous figure.
What was the Server Slam, and what did it include?
Embark Studios ran the open test from October 17 through 19, 2025, ahead of ARC Raiders’ October 30 launch. Players could join without a sign-up or access code on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Embark said the event was intended both to test backend systems and matchmaking under load and to give newcomers a hands-on introduction. Embark’s announcement outlined the schedule, goals, and access.
The test was a slice of the game rather than a full beta of the finished experience. It featured the Dam Battlegrounds map and initial progression, while Embark held back most content and features for launch. Executive Producer Aleksander Grøndal wrote, “This is not the full feature set of the game; we are saving the majority of our content and features for the official launch on October 30th.”

Why the number suggested interest, but could not predict sales
A peak near 190,000 simultaneous players on one PC storefront is evidence that many people were willing to try ARC Raiders before release. But the conditions make it a poor one-to-one predictor of commercial performance: the test was free, participation was open, the content was limited, and its stated purpose included server stress testing. Steam concurrency does not reveal unique-player totals, console participation, purchase conversion, or whether players continued after launch.
The game’s premise also offered a clear hook for a short trial. ARC Raiders is a PvPvE extraction adventure in which players scavenge while facing hostile ARC machines and other players, weighing the chance of better loot against the risk of staying longer. Xbox Wire described the game’s shift from a co-op-only concept to this extraction format in its September 22, 2025 preview.

How launch and later figures compared
ARC Raiders launched on October 30, 2025. Its later performance exceeded the Server Slam’s Steam peak, but the figures below measure different things and cover different periods. Steam figures are limited to Steam; Nexon’s post-launch concurrency figure is publisher-reported, and copies sold are sales rather than simultaneous players.

Nexon CEO Patrick Söderlund said in the company’s Q3 2025 prepared remarks, “We watched engagement numbers climb higher and higher toward 700,000 peak concurrent players, exceeding our initial target.” That is a publisher statement about post-launch engagement, not evidence that the Server Slam caused the later result.
