Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →If ARC Raiders is stuck on a black screen, frozen at launch, or loading indefinitely on PC, start with the low-risk fixes: reboot Windows, verify the Steam files, update Windows and relevant drivers, and disable overlays or Raider Voice (Beta). If that fails, test administrator permissions, perform a clean boot, repair Easy Anti-Cheat, and use Embark’s clean reinstall procedure.
These steps apply to the Windows PC version released on Steam on October 30, 2025. ARC Raiders requires 64-bit Windows 10 or later, DirectX 12, and at least 12 GB of RAM. Its minimum GPU requirements are an NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti, AMD RX 580, or Intel Arc A380; recommended specifications list 16 GB of RAM and an RTX 2070, RX 5700 XT, or Intel Arc B570. See Steam’s current ARC Raiders requirements.
Fix ARC Raiders black screen and infinite loading in order
- Restart the PC. This clears stuck game processes and can reset Easy Anti-Cheat state.
- Verify the game files in Steam. Open Steam → Library, right-click ARC Raiders, choose Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files. Steam will replace missing or corrupted files.
- Turn off overlays and third-party software. Temporarily disable overlays and background utilities that interact with games. Embark lists overlays and third-party software as possible causes of crashes and loading failures.
- Disable Raider Voice (Beta). If you can reach the menu, turn this feature off when the game crashes in the main menu or while loading. Embark says the beta feature can cause crashes for some players.
- Update Windows. Embark’s support article shows Start → Settings → Update & Security → Check for updates, followed by a restart. Windows 11 may display a different Settings layout, so use Windows Update if that exact label is not present.
For the official loading-specific checklist, see Embark’s troubleshooting guide for PC loading issues.
Check whether the PC meets the game requirements
A system below the listed requirements can produce poor performance or launch problems, but meeting the requirements does not guarantee that every driver, security program, or configuration will work correctly. Confirm that the PC has:

Run ARC Raiders as administrator
Embark recommends this workaround when limited-access permissions interfere with launching:
- Right-click the ARC Raiders shortcut.
- Select Properties.
- Open the Compatibility tab.
- Check Run this program as an administrator.
- Click Apply, then OK, and launch the game again.
Check Easy Anti-Cheat blocks and errors
Easy Anti-Cheat is blocked
In Windows Defender or your third-party antivirus settings, allow EasyAntiCheat.exe and confirm that ARC Raiders itself is not blocked. Security software can prevent the anti-cheat service or game files from starting normally.
EAC Error 30005
Error 30005 means the Easy Anti-Cheat service could not start the game. An EAC file may be locked by antivirus software or another program.

Update the drivers that affect launch and loading
Outdated drivers can cause crashes, input problems, or other launch failures. Embark identifies the GPU, CPU, motherboard or BIOS, monitor, Wi-Fi adapter or network card, modem, and peripherals as relevant update targets.
To identify the graphics card:
- Press Windows Key + R.
- Enter
dxdiagand press Enter. - Open the Display tab to see the graphics-card name and manufacturer.
Use the manufacturer’s official updater, such as AMD Auto-Detect, Intel’s driver-detection page, or NVIDIA GeForce Experience. Also install available motherboard, BIOS, peripheral, and network-driver updates from the appropriate manufacturer.
ARC Raiders requires DirectX 12. Embark notes that outdated DirectX components can contribute to crashes, input lag, or audio glitches and links to Microsoft’s DirectX information.

Use a clean boot to find software conflicts
A clean boot starts Windows with non-Microsoft services and startup programs disabled. It is useful when an overlay, antivirus product, hardware utility, monitoring tool, or other background application is interfering.
- Press Windows Key + R.
- Enter
msconfigand press Enter. - In System Configuration, open the Services tab.
- Check Hide all Microsoft services. This checkbox is important; do not disable Microsoft services indiscriminately.
- Click Disable all.
- Open the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.
- Disable all startup items, then close Task Manager.
- Click OK and restart the PC.
Try ARC Raiders after the restart. If it loads, re-enable services and startup items in groups to identify the conflict. Restore your normal startup configuration after testing.

- Open Settings → Apps, find ARC Raiders, and uninstall it.
- Delete
C:Program FilesEmbark Studios. - Press Windows Key + R, enter
%localappdata%, and press Enter. - Delete Embark Studios → ARC Raiders.
- Delete the whole Embark Studios folder only if no other Embark games are installed.
- Empty the Recycle Bin.
- Restart the PC.
- Redownload ARC Raiders.
- Right-click the installer and choose Run as administrator.
What not to try as an “official” fix
Current Steam and Embark documentation does not support several frequently repeated fixes:
-dx11: ARC Raiders currently lists DirectX 12, and Embark’s current loading and crash articles do not document a-dx11launch option.- Manually deleting arbitrary shader-cache folders: Embark does not currently instruct players to delete
Saved,DerivedDataCache,AppDataLocalARC, NVIDIA shader-cache files, or Windows temporary files for this problem. - DISM, SFC, ipconfig, or netsh commands: Embark’s current articles provide
msconfig, dxdiag, and%localappdata%as exact commands or paths, but do not prescribeDISM,sfc /scannow,ipconfig /flushdns, ornetsh winsock resetas ARC Raiders black-screen fixes.
Those steps may be suggested by unofficial guides, but they should not be presented as current official ARC Raiders remedies.
If ARC Raiders still will not load
At this point, record the exact symptom—black screen, frozen logo, infinite loading, crash to desktop, or an EAC code—and contact Embark Player Support. Include your Windows version, GPU model, driver version, the error text, and which documented fixes you tried. This gives support a clearer path than reporting only that the game “does not start.”
