EA Sports FC 26 supports cross-play between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox—but only within compatible game-generation pools. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC players share one pool, while PS4 and Xbox One players share another. Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 are outside those cross-play pools, and cross-play does not mean your progression transfers between every platform.
Which platforms support FC 26 cross-play?
FC 26 launched on September 26, 2025, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. EA also lists Amazon Luna as a launch platform. However, EA’s documented cross-play support covers PC, PlayStation, and Xbox; Switch and Switch 2 are not included in those cross-play pools. EA’s cross-play support page has the current platform list.

Switch players can play with other Switch players through Nintendo’s online features, but they cannot cross-play FC 26 with PC, PlayStation, or Xbox players. Amazon Luna is also not listed as a cross-play platform. Luna progress synchronizes between supported Luna devices when the same linked EA and Luna accounts are used, but it does not transfer from Luna to a console. See EA’s Luna support guidance.
Cross-play is split by game generation

A player using the PS5 version cannot play with someone using the PS4 version. The equivalent restriction applies between Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One versions. The key factor is the version being played, not simply the console’s name.

For example, a PS5 owner running the PS4 edition can join players using the PS4 or Xbox One editions. That same player cannot join someone running the PS5 edition. An Xbox Series X|S owner running the Xbox One version is likewise placed in the old-generation pool.
Dual Entitlement and installing both versions
Both the Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition include Dual Entitlement between PS4 and PS5, and between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Physical copies require the corresponding console with a disc drive for the upgrade. If you want to switch between old- and current-generation editions on a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, both versions must be installed. EA’s Dual Entitlement FAQ explains the version requirements.

Career Mode and ordinary offline modes are not included in EA’s cross-play list. FC 26 therefore does not offer cross-play in every mode.

How to add a cross-platform friend
Use EA Connect rather than relying only on a PlayStation or Xbox friends list.
- From the Main Menu, select the EA Connect icon, normally shown in the bottom-right corner.
- Open Player search.
- Enter the friend’s EA ID or platform username.
- Select the correct player and choose Add friend.
To invite that friend, enter a supported mode, open the Friends tab in EA Connect, select the online friend, and choose Invite to lobby. To accept an invitation, open Game invites, select the invitation, and choose Join lobby. EA Connect also includes Friend requests, Recently met, and Decline tabs. See EA Connect support.
How to enable or disable cross-play
Cross-play is enabled by default when FC 26 is first played. You cannot change it during a match.

From the Main Menu
- Open EA Connect.
- Select Social settings.
- Select Cross-play.
- Select Cross-play settings.
- Set Cross-play Enabled to Yes or No.
You can also use Main Menu > Customise > Online Settings > Matchmaking Options. In Ultimate Team, use Main Menu > Ultimate Team > Settings > Matchmaking Settings.
Why FC 26 cross-play invites may not work
The invite option is unavailable
Both players must have cross-play enabled, and the selected mode must support cross-play. EA says a player cannot join a friend’s lobby if either person has disabled cross-play or if the mode is not compatible.
The installed versions are in different generation pools
Check the edition each person is actually running. A PS5-version player cannot join a PS4-version player, and a current-generation PC player cannot join an old-generation console version. Hardware alone does not determine compatibility.
You are platform friends but not EA Connect friends
Find and add the player through EA Connect > Player search > EA ID or platform username > Add friend. EA displays an EA logo next to friends connected through EA Connect.
The account cannot play online
EA states that sub-accounts, including child or other limited accounts sharing a PlayStation or Xbox subscription, cannot connect to an EA Account to play online. This can block cross-play even when the game version and settings are correct. Check EA’s account-linking guidance.

Check EA’s server-status guidance before changing settings or reinstalling the game. If servers are operating normally, use EA’s connection troubleshooting steps for router, bandwidth, and connection-quality problems.

PS4 to PS5 and Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S
When the same EA Account is used, only Ultimate Team progression transfers between generations within the same console family. This includes:
- Players and items
- Coins and FC Points
- Match record
- Leaderboard placement
Other modes—including Online Seasons, Co-op Seasons, Manager Career, Player Career, and Clubs—remain specific to the console/version and do not transfer between generations. This same rule applies from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S. EA details the limits in its Dual Entitlement FAQ.

Progress does not transfer between PlayStation and Xbox, including Ultimate Team progression. EA also does not document FC 26 progression transfer between PC and PlayStation or Xbox. Cross-play access should not be treated as PC-to-console cross-progression.
How Clubs progression works
FC 26 Clubs uses an Archetype-based progression system. You select your first Archetype when entering Clubs for the first time; the other 12 can be obtained with Clubs Coins, FC Points, or Archetype Unlock consumables.
Clubs matches award Archetype XP, or AXP. The amount depends on Role Rating, gameplay actions, and match type. Each Archetype progresses separately. At launch, Archetypes progress from level 1 to level 50, with higher level caps planned during the season. Rewards include Attribute Points, Signature Playstyle upgrades, Signature Perks, and additional customizable PlayStyle slots. EA explains the system in its Clubs deep dive.
Clubs cross-play lets supported-platform players play together, but EA does not document Clubs progression transfer between different platforms. Do not expect Clubs or Virtual Pro progression to follow you from PlayStation to Xbox, PC, or another console family.
The practical answer
FC 26 cross-play works if everyone is in the same supported mode, has cross-play enabled, is connected through EA Connect, and is using compatible game versions. PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S use the current-generation pool; PS4 and Xbox One use the old-generation pool. Switch and Switch 2 remain outside those pools. Progression is much narrower: only Ultimate Team transfers between PS4 and PS5 or between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, while PlayStation, Xbox, and PC do not share progression.
