The ARC Surveyor is a Standard roaming reconnaissance unit in ARC Raiders. Look for its bright blue transmission beam when it stops, then attack the exposed core before it rolls away. Defeating one can yield a Surveyor Vault, a Rare Topside Material that can be sold or recycled into crafting components.
How to spot an ARC Surveyor
The Surveyor is a mobile ARC machine rather than a fixed objective. Its most obvious tell is a bright blue beam sent straight into the sky while it is stationary. During this transmission, the machine opens its armor and exposes its core, creating the clearest opportunity to damage it. ARC Raiders Hub classifies it as a Standard roaming reconnaissance unit, and current database listings place Surveyors on Dam Battlegrounds, The Spaceport, Buried City, Blue Gate, and Riven Tides.

How to beat the Surveyor
- Wait for the transmission. The blue-beam stationary phase exposes the core. This is the verified weak-point window.
- Use heavy damage where possible. Heavy weapons, heavy ammunition, and explosives are reported to be effective for stripping armor before you concentrate sustained fire on the core. The documented strategy is to exploit the open armor and exposed core.
- Expect it to roll away. After taking damage, the Surveyor generally tries to escape. Keep pressure on it, but do not chase blindly into a dangerous position.
- Handle a charge sideways. If its route is blocked—or a Raider is directly in its path—it can perform a high-speed charge. Break line of sight or dodge laterally; retreating directly backward is the riskier response.
- Watch the terrain. A fleeing Surveyor can roll off a ledge, cliff, or catwalk. That may put you in danger of being pushed over the edge, and dropped parts can become difficult or impossible to recover.
Armor pieces can detach during the fight and remain as separate lootable debris near where they broke off. After the Surveyor is destroyed, check both the main wreck and nearby debris piles rather than assuming every reward is in one location.
Surveyor rewards and XP
The Surveyor’s possible drops include ARC Alloy, ARC Powercell, ARC Motion Core, Advanced ARC Powercell, Mechanical Components, Sensors, and Surveyor Vault. The Vault is a possible drop, not a confirmed guarantee for every Surveyor kill.

Quest and workshop relevance
