The most reliable way to find a cheap Persona 5 Royal fusion is to set the correct game and DLC configuration, search for the target Persona, and then compare its reverse-fusion recipes. There is no single cheapest recipe that works for every edition, save file, or DLC setup: downloadable Personas change Arcana result positions, Treasure Demons follow different rules, and the displayed yen amount may include costs you do not actually pay during the fusion.
Use the Persona 5 Royal Fusion Calculator for the complete, searchable chart. This guide explains how to read its recipes, verify them in the Velvet Room, and avoid the most common reasons a supposedly cheap fusion produces the wrong Persona.

How to use the complete Persona 5 Royal fusion chart
- Choose the game version. Use Persona 5 Royal rather than Persona 5 Vanilla when that matches your game. A Royal recipe is not automatically valid in the original release.
- Match your DLC ownership. Enable every DLC Persona available in your edition. The calculator lists individual controls for Izanagi, Izanagi Picaro, Orpheus, Orpheus Picaro, Ariadne, Ariadne Picaro, Asterius, Asterius Picaro, Thanatos, Thanatos Picaro, Kaguya, Kaguya Picaro, Magatsu-Izanagi, Magatsu-Izanagi Picaro, Tsukiyomi, Tsukiyomi Picaro, Messiah, Messiah Picaro, Orpheus F, Orpheus F Picaro, Athena, Athena Picaro, Izanagi-no-Okami, Izanagi-no-Okami Picaro, and Raoul.
- Search for the target Persona. The target page places special-fusion ingredients first, followed by normal reverse-fusion recipes. Results are sorted by estimated cost, but the first result is not always the best practical choice.
- Check the ingredients and level conditions. Confirm that both Personas are available, that the target is not above your protagonist’s level unless you have the required Strength Confidant ability, and that any Confidant or story gate has been met.
- Verify the recipe in the Velvet Room. If the result differs from the calculator, stop and recheck the game version, DLC settings, target level, and whether the recipe is a special fusion.
The calculator is fan-made and explicitly not affiliated with Atlus, Sega, Persona, or an official publisher. Treat it as a planning database, not as official game documentation.
Normal fusion: the chart rule behind ordinary recipes
For a normal two-Persona fusion, the game first determines the result Arcana from the two ingredient Arcanas. It then uses the ingredients’ innate, or base, levels to select the lowest Persona in that result Arcana that meets the calculated result level.
#1 Best Overall
The commonly used calculation is:
(ingredient 1 base level + ingredient 2 base level) / 2, then advance to the next valid result level
When the average is a whole number, the result generally uses that average plus one. A fractional average uses the corresponding fractional increment before the game selects the next valid Persona. The important point is that both base levels are averaged first; a formula written as (A + B / 2) + 1 is incorrectly parenthesized because it divides only the second ingredient.
Raising an ingredient through battles does not change the normal-fusion calculation. The game uses that Persona’s base level, not its current experience level.
Worked example
Arsene (Fool, base level 1) + Jack Frost (Magician, base level 11) = Mokoi. Fool plus Magician produces the Death Arcana, and the average level is 6. Advancing to the next valid result level gives level 7, which is Mokoi in the relevant chart.

How to find the cheapest recipe for any Persona
Open the target’s page in the calculator and start with the first listed normal recipe. Then compare the next entries instead of copying the yen figure blindly. A practical cheapest recipe is the one that minimizes the resources you actually need, which may not be the one with the smallest database estimate.
Rank #2
- Persona 5 Royal für PS5 (Deutsche Verpackung)
| What to compare | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Displayed cost | Useful for ranking recipes, but not necessarily the amount paid at the moment of fusion. |
| Ingredients already owned | A slightly more expensive-looking route can be cheaper if it avoids Compendium summons. |
| Ingredient availability | A recipe is not useful if the Personas are outside your current compendium, area, or progression. |
| Target level | Above-level fusion requires the relevant Strength Confidant ability and a fee. |
| Skills to inherit | A direct pair may save time and money if it passes the skills you want. |
| DLC and Treasure Demon settings | Both can change the valid result or the apparent cheapest route. |
The calculator’s individual Persona pages sort reverse-fusion results by cost and warn that a different pair may be better when it saves time or preserves stronger skills. The accompanying fusion chart also presents one least-expensive route per Persona rather than every possible valid combination. In other words, the complete chart is a starting index, not a guarantee that its first row is optimal for your save.
Why your result can differ from the chart
DLC changes the fusion table
DLC Personas occupy positions in Arcana result lists. Enabling or disabling them can therefore change which Persona is selected at a given result level. A recipe copied from a no-DLC chart may produce a different Persona in Royal.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →This is especially important on modern Royal releases that include the DLC Persona content by default. Configure the calculator to match the actual edition and installed content before using any recipe. A wrong setting has been reported to turn an attempted Satan fusion into Messiah, because Messiah-related DLC changes the available result positions.
For Satan, a reported non-Treasure-Demon route is Ongyo-Ki + Maria. That route is not an early-game shortcut: Ongyo-Ki is the ultimate Hermit Persona, Maria is the ultimate Faith Persona, and the necessary Confidant and third-semester requirements apply.
Treasure Demons are exceptions
Treasure Demons do not behave like ordinary Persona ingredients. Their Arcana and the level of the other ingredient can shift the result, so a recipe involving Regent, Queen’s Necklace, Stone of Scone, Koh-i-Noor, Orichalcum, Hope Diamond, or Crystal Skull should be checked in the game rather than treated as a normal Arcana-pair calculation.
Rank #3
- Gather a team of popular heroes to face the armies of oppressors in exciting turn-based battles
- Lead a riot of hearts in a brand new story that plays in the legendary Persona universe
- Beat your enemies with powerful personas, a selection of weapons and defeat them in style!
- In addition to the game, the first edition includes a DLC code for 2 Persona games ("Orpheus Picaro" & "Izanagi Picaro") in the box
Calculator pages may place Treasure Demon recipes first because they can appear inexpensive. They can also be wrong for a player’s actual level conditions or configuration. If the Velvet Room preview disagrees, use a non-Treasure-Demon recipe or recalculate with the correct settings.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsSpecial fusions are not normal two-Persona recipes
Advanced recipes must be separated from ordinary fusion. The target page places special-fusion ingredients first, and these combinations can require several Personas, a particular story point, or a completed Confidant.
Ultimate Personas tied to Confidant Arcana cannot be fused merely because the listed ingredients are available. You must complete the relevant Confidant and receive its final item. A database entry can therefore be technically correct while the fusion remains unavailable in your save.
What the displayed yen cost really means
Do not assume that the calculator’s yen value is always the price of pressing the fusion button. Normal fusion at or below the protagonist’s current level is reported as free when the required ingredients are already available. Charges arise when you summon ingredients from the Compendium or perform an above-level fusion.
Strength Confidant Rank 5 enables above-level fusion for a fee. Your actual payment therefore depends on:
Rank #4
- whether each ingredient is already owned;
- whether either ingredient must be summoned from the Compendium;
- whether the target exceeds the protagonist’s level; and
- which version, DLC configuration, and recipe branch you are using.
Use the calculator’s ranking to identify candidates, then use the Velvet Room preview and your Compendium state to determine the real cost.

Persona 5 Royal lets you plan inheritance as well as the result itself. The chart’s inheritance-count table is based on the combined number of parent skills:
| Total parent skills | Inherited skills |
|---|---|
| 3–5 | 1 |
| 6–8 | 2 |
| 9–12 | 3 |
| 13–23 | 4 |
| 24–31 | 5 |
| 32–41 | 6 |
| 42 | 8 |
The current calculator can filter reverse-fusion recipes by inheritable skills. If an ingredient does not naturally know the skill you want, its result can link to another page showing how to fuse that ingredient so it learns or inherits the skill first.
This is why the cheapest-yen row is often not the cheapest build. A more direct route may avoid several intermediate fusions, preserve a crucial passive, or provide more useful inheritance slots. Decide whether your priority is low cash cost, fewest steps, available ingredients, or a specific final skill set.
Useful tools in the current calculator
Beyond target searching, the calculator currently exposes:
- Persona List and Skill List for browsing data;
- Fusion Chart for Arcana-pair planning;
- Fusion Alarm for alarm-related planning;
- Recipe Generator for building routes;
- Network Fusion for that fusion method;
- Gallows Guide for Gallows planning;
- Traits Guide for trait inheritance and selection; and
- Classroom Answers for a separate progression reference.
For a visual alternative, the Persona 5 fusion graph lets you choose Persona 5 Vanilla or Persona 5 Royal, configure two DLC-selection fields, and search for a target. Its upper branch is described as using the lowest-level and lowest-cost Personas; clicking diagram circles opens the full fusion paths. That branch should still be treated as an estimate rather than a complete calculation of every Compendium-summoning expense.
A reliable pre-fusion checklist
- Confirm that you are using Persona 5 Royal or Vanilla as appropriate.
- Match every DLC toggle to your actual edition and installed content.
- Search the target Persona rather than relying on a generic chart row.
- Separate special-fusion recipes from normal two-Persona recipes.
- Check for Treasure Demon involvement.
- Confirm the relevant Confidant, item, story, and third-semester requirements.
- Check your protagonist’s level and Strength Confidant rank.
- Confirm which ingredients are already owned and which require Compendium summons.
- Compare skills and number of steps, not just the first yen amount.
- Verify the final result in the Velvet Room before spending money or sacrificing a valuable Persona.
Bottom line
The complete chart is best used as a searchable route finder: configure the correct game and DLC state, open the target Persona, compare reverse-fusion options, and verify the result in the Velvet Room. The first listed recipe is an economical database route, not a universal answer. DLC, Treasure Demons, special-fusion gates, Confidant progress, Compendium ownership, protagonist level, and skill inheritance can all make another recipe cheaper or more useful in practice.
