If Arcadegeddon says, “You previously linked a different [platform] account to your Epic Games account,” Epic’s account-linking restriction is the likely issue: reconnect the original platform account or remove the restriction before linking another one. Epic allows restriction removal only once every 365 days. If the game instead stays on “Please wait,” times out, or gets stuck without that error, the restriction steps are not a confirmed fix for your symptom.
First identify which linking problem you have
Epic’s message, “You previously linked a different [platform] account to your Epic Games account,” indicates that an account of that platform type was linked before. It does not, by itself, show that PlayStation Network is down. Epic documents this error and its account-level remedies in its support article about the previously linked account error.
A different symptom—such as a screen that remains on “Please wait,” a timeout, or a generic failure to reach Epic Online Services—does not establish that the platform restriction is involved. Record the exact message and follow Epic’s current support guidance or the game publisher’s current support channel; the available official information does not confirm a current Arcadegeddon outage or a game-specific fix for these symptoms.
What to do when Epic reports a previously linked account
Use the Epic account that owns the existing connection. Before changing links, make sure you can sign in to it and access its registered email. Epic’s documented options are to reconnect the original platform account or remove the platform restriction so you can connect a different account. Its instructions for removing a console account restriction describe the account-policy process.

- Sign in to the Epic Games account you intend to use for Arcadegeddon.
- Open the account’s Linked accounts settings and check which PlayStation account is connected.
- If the original PlayStation account is the one you want, reconnect it rather than trying to substitute another account.
- If you need to use a different PlayStation account, review Epic’s warnings, unlink the relevant account if it is currently attached, and follow Epic’s steps to remove the platform restriction.
- Link the intended PlayStation account and verify that it is the correct one before returning to the game.
Understand the 365-day limit and unlinking consequences
Epic says the platform restriction can be removed once every 365 days and that the limit cannot be bypassed. Treat this as an account-policy limit, not a temporary game error. Unlinking may affect access or entitlements associated with services tied to the Epic account. Review Epic’s unlinking warnings before proceeding; for example, Epic says to cancel an active Fortnite Crew subscription on the platform account being removed first. What if Arcadegeddon is stuck on “Please wait”?
Do not unlink accounts solely because the game is stuck or times out. The official Epic error guidance addresses the “previously linked a different account” restriction; it does not establish that unlinking resolves every login or linking failure. Check the precise wording, then contact Epic support or consult the game publisher’s current support channel for instructions that match the symptom. Current live-service status and a developer-confirmed Arcadegeddon-specific fix are not established here.

A historical Arcadegeddon workaround—and its limits
In a March 2022 Reddit discussion, a PS5 player reported unlinking PlayStation from Epic’s website, starting the linking flow in Arcadegeddon, entering the code shown by the game, and then relinking PlayStation in Epic account settings. Some replies said this worked. It is community advice from 2022, not an official support procedure, and its effectiveness with current game versions is unknown. Epic Online Services documentation says parental-consent restrictions can prevent EOS login until consent is obtained. That is a possible general account-flow consideration, not evidence that parental consent is causing a particular Arcadegeddon linking failure.
