Battlefield 6 has its own Steam app, while SteamDB’s Call of Duty app groups Black Ops 7 with other Call of Duty titles and Warzone. A count from that shared app cannot be presented as a Black Ops 7-only number.
What a Steam player count actually measures
Steam’s statistics page reports current players and the peak concurrent players for the day. Concurrent players are people playing on Steam at the same time; the figures do not represent everyone who played during a day, total sales, or a game’s audience across platforms. Valve’s Steam statistics page makes the platform scope explicit.
Keep the metric consistent when comparing figures. A current count, a daily peak, an all-time peak, an average over a period, a sales total, and the number of unique players over a period answer different questions. Two numbers are not meaningfully comparable just because both are described as “players.”
Why the Call of Duty figure needs extra care
SteamDB describes the Call of Duty Steam experience as supporting Black Ops 7, Black Ops 6, Warzone, and other Call of Duty titles. Its shared-app count therefore does not isolate Black Ops 7. Unless a separate title-specific measure is available, label the figure as the Call of Duty shared Steam app—not as Black Ops 7’s player count. SteamDB’s Call of Duty tracker shows the shared-app scope.

The shared app’s historical peak of 491,670 concurrent players was recorded on 20 November 2022, before Black Ops 7. It cannot be attributed to that game. The figure is a SteamDB historical peak for the shared app, not a Black Ops 7 peak.
What Battlefield 6’s Steam figures do—and don’t—show
SteamDB records Battlefield 6’s all-time Steam concurrent peak as 747,440 on 10 October 2025. That is a peak at one moment on Steam, not an average, a daily active-player total, or a sales count. It is also a third-party tracker figure, not an all-platform total. SteamDB’s Battlefield 6 tracker identifies the Steam chart and its historical peak.
Battlefield 6 is also available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC through Steam, EA App, and Epic Games Store, according to EA’s 24 October 2025 announcement. A Steam count omits players using those other platforms and PC storefronts.

Why EA’s launch claims aren’t a direct comparison
EA said Battlefield 6 sold over 7 million copies in its first three days. That is a sales figure, not a concurrent-player count, so it cannot be compared directly with SteamDB’s 747,440 Steam peak.
EA also said Battlefield 6 had “the most concurrent players for Battlefield ever,” but the announcement did not provide a numerical count or specify that the claim referred only to Steam. It is a publisher’s franchise-level claim, not a matched figure for comparing Battlefield 6 with Black Ops 7 on Steam.

- Metric: Compare peak with peak, current concurrent count with current concurrent count, or sales with sales—not one type against another.
- Time window and launch age: Use the same period and account for how long each game had been available. A launch-week peak and a later current count describe different moments.
- Platform and storefront: Say “Steam” if the figures cover Steam. Do not treat Steam as the full PC, console, or cross-platform audience.
- App attribution: Verify whether the Steam app represents one game or a shared Call of Duty experience.
- Data source and scope: Name who reported or tracked the number, and preserve its date and qualification.
Geography also matters when the figures are regional or when the sources report different geographic coverage. If platform, metric, time period, attribution, or coverage differs—or is unknown—state that beside the numbers rather than implying an apples-to-apples result.
Can these numbers decide which game is more popular?
Not by themselves. The available figures do not provide comparable, title-specific counts across all platforms for Battlefield 6 and Black Ops 7 at the same times. Battlefield 6’s Steam peak establishes its Steam high-water mark; the Call of Duty shared-app count does not establish Black Ops 7’s standalone Steam audience. Neither supports a definitive all-platform popularity ranking.
