Audino, a Pokémon introduced in Generation V, can Mega Evolve into Mega Audino. The key distinction is that Audino is from Gen 5; Mega Evolution arrived later, and the official sources reviewed confirm Mega Audino as a Gen 5 example.
Which Gen 5 Pokémon has a Mega Evolution?
Audino is the confirmed example: its Mega form is called Mega Audino. The Pokémon Company’s official Mega Evolution list includes Mega Audino, and its Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire page names Mega Audino in the game’s art gallery.
“Gen 5 Mega Evolution” describes a Gen 5 species that has a Mega form, not a Mega form introduced in a Generation V game. Audino debuted in Generation V, while Mega Evolution is associated with the later Pokémon X and Pokémon Y and Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire era.
How does Mega Audino differ from Audino?
Mega Audino changes from Normal type to Normal/Fairy type. The Pokémon Company’s infographic, published June 10, 2025, shows the change as Audino (Normal) → Mega Audino (Normal/Fairy): official Mega Evolution infographic.

Mega Evolution is temporary. Pokémon’s official explanation says the transformation changes a Pokémon’s appearance and sometimes its type. It describes a Trainer wearing a Key Stone and the Pokémon holding a corresponding Mega Stone; the two resonate to trigger the change.
Does every Gen 5 Pokémon have a Mega Evolution?
No such conclusion follows from Audino’s example. The official sources cited here confirm Mega Audino, but they do not establish an exhaustive list of every Mega-Evolved Pokémon by the generation in which each species debuted.
