ARK: Survival Ascended admin commands let a server administrator change player stats, spawn or tame creatures, grant items, move players, manage the world and moderate a server. Open the console with ~ (or ` on some keyboard layouts), run enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> on a multiplayer server, and add cheat or admincheat before subsequent commands. Single-player does not require the password. Because ASA command support and argument order can change with patches, test dangerous commands privately and save the world first.

How to enable admin commands in ARK: Survival Ascended
The exact setup depends on whether you are playing alone or administering a multiplayer server.

Single-player
Open the console with the tilde key (~). Some keyboard layouts use the backtick key (`) instead. Single-player does not require enablecheats; enter the command you want directly. The console key can vary by keyboard layout, so try both keys if nothing appears. See the command-entry guidance in the console command guide.
Multiplayer server
- Open the console with ~ or, where necessary, `.
- Enter
enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword>, replacing the placeholder with the password configured as the server’sServerAdminPassword. - Run commands with the
cheatoradmincheatprefix, for examplecheat godoradmincheat fly.
The password must exactly match the server setting. If the server rejects the command, check the setting and reconnect before troubleshooting the command itself. The multiplayer syntax is documented by the ARK Official Community Wiki and a server administration guide.
#1 Best Overall
- ARK: Survival Ascended has completely recreated and redesigned the artwork and worlds of ARK to take advantage of the latest in videogame technology, Unreal Engine 5, using high-end graphics features such as fully dynamic Global Illumination (“Lumen”), so that light bounces realistically of off surfaces and provides realistic reflections, and advanced mesh streaming (“Nanite”) of hundreds of millions of triangles for extreme detail.
- Advanced new physics systems such as dynamic water so that every creature creates waves, ripples, splashes, and bubbles as they move through fluids, and fully interactive physical foliage where every blade of grass, bush, and tree reacts to characters, explosions, projectiles, and physics objects.
- ARK: Survival Ascended includes access to all of ARK’s worlds, including Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, ARK Genesis Part 1, ARK Genesis Part 2, and more. The Island is released now, with the subsequent expansion worlds to be added at no additional cost on a regular basis.
- Thorough Quality of Life revamps in every area: redesigned User Interfaces, dynamic navigation for intelligent creature pathfinding, Wild Babies, Photo Mode, new Camera systems, new Map system, Tracking System, new Structures and Items, new Creatures, and much more.
- Cross-Platform Modding: Download & play new custom content created by players, including new maps, creatures, items, and game modes, through a dedicated new Mod-bowser directly within the game! Enjoy an endless stream of new ARK content as the creativity and talent of the community is fully unleashed for the first time ever across gaming platforms!
Whitelisting administrators
ASA can whitelist administrators by EOS ID. An EOS ID is a 32-character alphanumeric identifier. A whitelisted administrator can use cheat commands without entering the server password each time. Confirm the ID format and your server’s current configuration before relying on a whitelist, since player-identification systems are one of the areas where guides do not always agree.
Command syntax you should use
Use the examples below as a safe pattern rather than assuming every third-party list is interchangeable.
| Situation | Recommended form | Important detail |
|---|---|---|
| Single-player | god |
No password or prefix is normally required. |
| Multiplayer | cheat god |
admincheat can be used instead of cheat. |
| Enable administrator access | enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword> |
Use the exact password stored in the server configuration. |
| Targeted commands | cheat <command> ... |
Stand close to, or look directly at, the intended player or creature when the command uses a target. |
Command names and parameter order are not guaranteed to stay stable after patches. The community wiki marks some commands as only partially working on ASA, while many hosting articles copy syntax from different game versions. If a command behaves differently from the example, check its ASA entry and test it on a private copy before using it on a live world.
Player powers and progression commands
| Command | What it does | How to use it safely |
|---|---|---|
god |
Blocks combat damage. | One guide notes that it does not prevent drowning. Pair it with infinitestats when you need protection from hunger, thirst or oxygen loss. |
infinitestats |
Keeps health, food, water, oxygen and weight full. | Toggle it off by running the command again if your server rules require normal survival. |
fly |
Enables flight. | Use walk to return to normal ground movement before logging out. |
walk |
Disables flight and returns the player to ground movement. | Run it after fly; otherwise you can remain in an unintended movement state. |
ghost |
Lets the player pass through terrain and structures. | Use it for recovery or inspection, then disable it when finished to avoid falling through the map. |
gcm |
Toggles Creative Mode. | Documentation differs: one guide describes it as a combination of god, flight, infinite statistics and instant crafting, while the wiki lists it as GiveCreativeMode. Verify the actual effect in your ASA build. |
GiveCreativeModeToTarget |
Applies Creative Mode to the creature or player you are targeting. | Aim at the correct target before entering it. |
GiveCreativeModeToPlayer |
Applies Creative Mode to a specified player. | Use the player identifier requested by your build; test on a non-production server first. |
addexperience <amount> |
Grants the specified amount of experience. | Enter a numeric amount and confirm the resulting level before repeating it. |
giveengrams |
Unlocks all engrams. | This changes the character’s progression broadly, so use it only when that is intended. |
ResetSkills |
Resets the player’s skills. | Use it when rebuilding a character’s attributes; it is separate from unlocking engrams. |
For a temporary building session, a typical multiplayer sequence is cheat gcm, build what you need, then cheat walk and disable any other toggles you no longer want. Since the documented behavior of gcm conflicts between guides, check your inventory, crafting and movement state rather than assuming every Creative feature activated.
Movement, coordinates and player lookup
List players and teleport to one
ListPlayers displays connected player IDs. The wiki’s working form is cheat ListPlayers on a multiplayer server. Use the returned ID with teleporttoplayer <PlayerID> to move yourself to that player. Do not substitute a display name unless your build explicitly accepts one.
Teleport to coordinates
Use setplayerpos X Y Z for world coordinates. Replace X, Y and Z with the coordinate values you intend to use. For latitude/longitude-style movement, use tpcoords latitude longitude altitude. Record your starting position before experimenting so you can return if the destination puts you inside terrain or outside the playable area.

Teleport commands are especially sensitive to map and coordinate conventions. If you arrive underground, use ghost only long enough to escape, then run walk. Avoid testing unknown coordinates on a live server with valuable tames or inventories present.
Creature commands
Spawn a wild creature
Summon <blueprint> creates a wild creature at the point you are aiming. The blueprint must be the class path recognized by your ASA build. A failed summon usually indicates a wrong blueprint or a command that has changed, not a problem with the creature’s level.
Spawn a tamed creature at a chosen level
GMSummon <blueprint> <level> spawns a tamed creature at the requested level. The commonly documented example is:
cheat GMSummon "Rex_Character_BP_C" 150
Replace the blueprint and level only after confirming that the class name belongs to ASA. A creature spawned with this command is not the same as a wild summon followed by manual taming; it is created as a tamed entity at the supplied level.

ForceTameinstantly tames the creature in your crosshair.DoTametames an eligible conscious creature in front of you.
Look directly at the intended creature and verify that it is conscious and eligible before running either command. If the wrong creature is targeted, the command can affect it immediately.
Remove or freeze groups of creatures
DestroyWildDinosremoves all wild creatures. Wild spawns return over time, so this is a reset rather than a permanent extinction.DestroyAllEnemiesremoves non-player creatures; new creatures still spawn afterward.DestroyAllTamesremoves all tamed creatures. Treat it as an irreversible destructive operation for the current world unless you have a backup.CryoMyTargetplaces the creature you are looking at into a new cryopod.PlayersOnlystops creature movement and crafting. Run it again to turn the freeze off.
Before any mass-removal command, run SaveWorld and make a separate backup if your hosting setup supports one. A mistyped target command can affect an entire server population rather than one creature.

Items, blueprints and quality
Give an item by short name
GFI accepts an item’s short name, quantity, quality and a blueprint flag. A generic form is:
cheat GFI <item-short-name> <quantity> <quality> <blueprint-flag>
Argument order differs between published guides, so do not blindly copy a positional example from an ARK: Survival Evolved list. Check the ASA command entry, begin with a small quantity, and verify the result in your inventory. If the game gives the wrong object or treats a number as a quality value, stop and confirm the parameter order for your current build.

Give an item by numeric ID
GiveItemNum uses a numeric item ID instead of a short name. Its arguments also vary across lists and versions. Use the numeric ID, quantity, quality and blueprint setting expected by the ASA command implementation, then test with one item before granting a stack or a high-quality blueprint.
Item commands can alter progression as significantly as Creative Mode. On a role-play or community server, record what was granted and to whom so your audit trail remains clear.
Saving, announcements and moderation
Save the world before risky changes
SaveWorld forces an immediate save and is the most useful precaution before mass deletion, bulk item grants, teleport experiments or server maintenance. One hosting guide also reports an ASA-only SaveBackup command that creates an additional manual backup; because that claim is single-source, verify that it works on your server before treating it as your recovery plan.
Message everyone
Broadcast <message> sends a message to all connected players. Use it before a restart, destructive cleanup or rules change so players have a chance to secure their characters and tames.
Rank #4
Kick, ban and unban
KickPlayer <ID>removes a player from the server.BanPlayer <ID>bans a player.UnbanPlayer <ID>reverses a ban.
Identifier syntax is unresolved across current guides: one describes Steam IDs, while the wiki’s administrator-whitelisting material uses EOS IDs. Do not guess. Obtain the identifier format your ASA server exposes, test a kick on a cooperating account, and keep a written record before issuing a ban. If the command reports an invalid ID, check whether your panel or build expects EOS rather than Steam.
Open the administrator panel
ShowMyAdminManager opens the in-game admin manager. It can be useful when you need a visual control surface instead of entering each command manually, but command availability and panel behavior can still vary by ASA patch.
Map-specific command
FindMutagenDrops works only on Genesis: Part 2. Running it on another map is expected to fail or do nothing; it is not a general-purpose drop locator. The map limitation is listed in the community wiki’s command reference.

Safe operating procedure for an ASA administrator
- Confirm the context. Identify whether you are in single-player or multiplayer and which map and ASA patch are running.
- Authenticate. On multiplayer, run
enablecheats <ServerAdminPassword>and confirm the password matches the server configuration. - Use the prefix. Start multiplayer commands with
cheatoradmincheat. - Save first. Run
SaveWorldbefore deletion, bulk grants, coordinate tests or moderation actions that could be difficult to reverse. - Test privately. Reproduce the command on a private server or disposable save, especially when using
GFI,GiveItemNum, moderation IDs or a blueprint path. - Target deliberately. For
ForceTame,DoTame,CryoMyTargetand targeted Creative Mode commands, put the correct entity in the crosshair. - Record the result. Note the command, arguments, player affected and time. This makes it possible to undo administrative mistakes and explain changes to players.
- Disable temporary powers. Return from
flywithwalk, turn offPlayersOnlyby repeating it, and remove other temporary privileges when the task ends.
Troubleshooting commands that fail or behave unexpectedly
The console opens but says you are not an administrator
On multiplayer, rerun enablecheats with the exact ServerAdminPassword, then add cheat or admincheat to the command. Single-player does not need the password. If a whitelist is in use, verify the complete 32-character EOS ID.
A command is unknown or has no effect
Check the command against the ASA entry in the community wiki. Some entries are marked partially working on ASA, and patch changes can make a formerly valid command unreliable. Confirm that you are not using an ARK: Survival Evolved-only list: the Fandom console page covers ASE rather than ASA.
The item command gives the wrong result
Recheck the short name or numeric ID and the argument order. Guides disagree about the position of quantity, quality and blueprint values. Test with quantity one and a low quality value before issuing a larger grant.
A teleport puts you in danger
Use ghost briefly to move out of terrain, then run walk. For future tests, save first and record the original coordinates with a screenshot or written note.

A mass creature command did not permanently clear the map
DestroyWildDinos and DestroyAllEnemies remove current creatures only. New spawns are expected over time. DestroyAllTames is broader and removes tamed creatures, so never substitute it for a wild-creature cleanup.
Which command lists can you trust?
The ARK Official Community Wiki is user-edited rather than published by Studio Wildcard, but it is valuable because entries identify game applicability and flag commands that are only partially working on ASA. Hosting references can be useful for examples, but they are secondary sources and may mix ASA and ASE syntax:
- XGamingServer’s ASA admin and spawn command guide includes player, creature, movement and item examples.
- Supercraft’s ASA console command list is another secondary syntax reference.
- Apex Hosting’s ASA admin guide provides hosting-oriented command instructions.
- Legion Hosting’s command guide offers additional server-management examples.
- Nexus Games’ administrator setup guide covers password-based access.
When two lists conflict, prefer the wiki’s ASA marking, then verify the command in a private save. In particular, treat GFI argument order, moderation identifier type, Creative Mode behavior and ASA-only backup claims as items to test rather than facts to assume.
