Those roles should not be confused with a universal end-game combat prescription. Breeding, imprinting, saddle quality, mutations, patch values and server multipliers all change how much punishment an individual Therizinosaurus can take. The available documentation supports its harvesting flexibility and general combat utility, but it does not establish one guaranteed boss build or a universal boss-ready stat threshold.
What to prepare before you start taming
Choose and isolate the target
Find the Therizinosaur you intend to keep and isolate it before beginning the knockout. Isolation gives you a controlled area in which to apply your tranquilizing method, monitor its unconscious state and feed it without unrelated creatures or combat damage interfering. A secure enclosure or a naturally separated area can both serve this purpose; the important requirement is that the target remain accessible while you work.

Bring the preferred food first
Exceptional Kibble is the preferred taming food listed for Therizinosaurs. The official creature information notes that, since version 290.1, the Therizinosaur prefers Exceptional Kibble. Have the food in your inventory before the knockout so that the creature can be fed as soon as the taming interface allows it.
Prepare narcotics and a reserve
Taming is a knockout process, not a passive feed. After the Therizinosaur is unconscious, torpor drains quickly enough that narcotic preparation matters. Bring narcotics before you start and keep more than the displayed example if your server uses different multipliers, the target is a higher level, or the knockout takes longer than expected.

Creature level, taming speed, food drain, torpor drain and other server settings alter the quantities shown by a taming calculator or in-game table. Treat the official level-1 figures below as a worked example under the displayed settings, not as a fixed recipe for every world.
How to tame a Therizinosaurus
- Scout the creature. Confirm that you have selected the level and individual you actually want. If the area is unsafe, improve the position before applying any tranquilizer.
- Isolate it. Keep the Therizinosaur away from other creatures and from avoidable sources of damage. You need enough room to monitor it for the entire unconscious phase.
- Knock it unconscious. Use the tranquilizing method available in your game and apply it carefully. Stop once the creature is unconscious; unnecessary damage can reduce taming effectiveness.
- Open the unconscious creature’s inventory. Place Exceptional Kibble inside so it can eat when its food level permits. The preferred food produces the strongest documented result in the official level-1 example.
- Monitor torpor continuously. Watch the unconscious creature rather than leaving the area. When its torpor falls, use narcotics according to the controls available in your version. Torpor management is the reason the preparation step matters.
- Protect the taming process. Prevent further damage and avoid actions that would reduce effectiveness. The official information states that taming effectiveness grants bonuses to some post-tame stats.
- Wait for completion. Keep the area secure and continue feeding and torpor management until the taming bar finishes. The time shown by the game will vary with level, food and server multipliers.
Do not treat a knockout as the end of the job. A Therizinosaur can be unconscious and still fail to tame if its torpor is allowed to collapse, if it is killed, or if the available food does not match the plan you prepared.
Exceptional Kibble, crops and berries
Preferred option: Exceptional Kibble
Exceptional Kibble is the documented preferred food. The official level-1 example lists 5 Exceptional Kibble, 15 narcotics and approximately 8 minutes of listed taming time under the settings displayed in that table. Those numbers describe that level-1 scenario only. A different level, food multiplier or taming multiplier can change every quantity.

How to obtain the kibble
Therizinosaur Eggs can be used to make Exceptional Kibble. If your tribe plans to tame more than one high-level Therizinosaur, arranging egg production and kibble preparation before scouting can reduce the risk of starting a knockout without enough preferred food.
Fallback foods
Crops and berries are alternatives, but the official table shows much longer taming times for both. A fallback may be useful when kibble is unavailable, yet the longer unconscious period increases the time you must spend protecting the creature and managing torpor. Do not transfer the five-kibble figure to crops or berries; each food choice has its own requirement under the current settings.

Keeping torpor under control
The most common preparation mistake is bringing enough food but not enough narcotics. Torpor is not a one-time switch: it declines while the Therizinosaur is unconscious. Check the creature at regular intervals, keep narcotics ready in your inventory and respond before the torpor bar reaches a dangerous level.
The exact number of narcotics is setting-dependent. The official level-1 example displays 15 narcotics, but that is not a universal requirement. Use the value shown for your target and server, then add a reserve for unexpected interruptions, a longer knockout, or a food plan that extends the taming window.
If torpor is falling faster than expected, stop other tasks and concentrate on the unconscious creature. A safe enclosure, a clear view of the inventory and supplies placed within immediate reach reduce the chance of missing a critical drop.

Taming effectiveness and the final animal
Taming effectiveness affects bonuses applied to some post-tame stats. For that reason, the fastest possible knockout is not automatically the best result. Avoid unnecessary damage during the knockout, use Exceptional Kibble where practical and keep the creature protected while it eats.
Effectiveness is not a promise of a particular final stat spread. It changes the bonuses available at the end of the tame; the resulting numbers still depend on the creature’s starting level, game version and server settings. Compare individuals under the same conditions when deciding which one deserves a saddle or a breeding role.

How harvesting levels work
Two affinities, one deliberate choice
Each level-up grants a harvesting level that can be assigned to either delicate or power harvesting affinity. This is the defining progression decision for a working Therizinosaur. Rather than treating every level as an interchangeable point, decide which resource-gathering behavior your tribe needs and direct the affinity accordingly.

Choose delicate when your priority is delicate harvesting
Put harvesting levels into delicate affinity when the resources you plan to gather are best served by that behavior. The documentation does not prescribe a fixed point ratio, so the correct allocation depends on your tribe’s current resource route, map and division of labor.
Choose power when your priority is power harvesting
Power affinity is the alternative specialization. Favor it when your routine depends on the resources or harvesting behavior associated with power collection. The important decision is consistency: assign levels toward the job you actually perform instead of copying a build made for another server’s rates or another player’s resource priorities.
Why there is no universal stat build
A single recommended distribution would be misleading without naming the game version and server settings. Harvesting returns, creature progression and the value of combat statistics can all change with those settings. Keep a record of the role you want the animal to perform, then allocate new harvesting levels as that role develops.

The Therizinosaur’s useful progression is role-based rather than a one-size-fits-all checklist. Start by deciding whether the animal is primarily a resource worker, a general-purpose mount, a combat support creature or a combination of those jobs. Then evaluate level-ups in the context of that role and your server’s multipliers.
- Harvesting role: Assign each harvesting level to delicate or power affinity according to the resources your tribe actually gathers.
- General mount: Keep the saddle requirement and material cost in mind before committing the animal to regular travel.
- Combat support: Judge survivability from the individual creature, its training history, its saddle and your server settings rather than from a generic stat target.
- Breeding project: Compare post-tame results under matching conditions, including taming effectiveness, rather than mixing values from different settings.
The official information confirms the harvesting-level choice and the effect of taming effectiveness on some post-tame stats. It does not establish a universal allocation for health, stamina or melee damage, so those decisions should remain conditional on your version, rates and intended use.

Practical uses after the tame
Flexible resource harvesting
The claws are the Therizinosaur’s main practical advantage. A tribe can tune the creature toward delicate or power harvesting instead of maintaining a completely separate specialist for every gathering task. That flexibility is especially useful when the same mount must support changing projects, provided you assign future harvesting levels deliberately.
Transport and everyday work
Once the level-69 saddle is crafted, the Therizinosaur becomes a rideable transport creature. The saddle lets you move with the mount while using its harvesting capability, making it suitable for routine collection runs and general base support.

Combat support
A saddled Therizinosaur can serve as a combat-support mount, but its actual survivability depends on factors not fixed by the creature’s name: breeding, imprinting, saddle quality, individual stats, patch values and server multipliers. Use it confidently for the threats your tribe has tested, but do not treat the standard 25-armor saddle as proof that every individual is ready for a high-risk encounter.
Boss and high-risk content
There is no single guaranteed Therizinosaur boss threshold established here. Before committing an animal to a boss fight, evaluate the complete setup: bred or wild starting stock, imprinting, stat distribution, saddle quality, mutations, food and healing plan, patch version and server rates. A recommendation that omits those variables is not portable between servers.

When deciding whether to tame a Therizinosaur instead of another herbivore, compare the job rather than relying on a universal tier list. The useful axes are:
