To unlock the Valley Hub’s Depot Bus for the AIC Steward quest, reach Authority Level 15, complete Restart Area Stock Redistribution I, read Fiona’s message in the Baker, research Depot Bus in the AIC Factory Plan, then buy Depot Bus I from the AIC Steward for 5,000 Valley Stock Bills. Reading Fiona’s follow-up message completes the mission.

Unlock Depot Bus for the AIC Steward quest

  1. Meet the prerequisites. Reach Authority Level 15 and complete Restart Area Stock Redistribution I. Then open the Baker and read the message from Fiona, the Comms Officer, to start AIC Steward. Game8’s quest walkthrough and PowerPyx’s guide describe this trigger.
  2. Visit the AIC Steward. Travel to the Hub in Valley IV and go to the Core AIC Area. The Steward is southwest of the Hub. Interact with it and view the tutorial to learn how its upgrade interface works. Game8 places the Steward there.
  3. Research Depot Bus. Open the AIC Factory Plan and unlock the Depot Bus research node. Guides place it in the Power progression and note that earlier nodes are required; Games Fuze describes it under Power in Basic AIC II, while Game8 mentions the Power I node and one Basic AIC Index. If it is unavailable, check the preceding nodes and the live in-game plan for the current requirements. Games Fuze and Game8 provide the respective descriptions.
  4. Collect 5,000 Valley Stock Bills. Outpost orders are one way to earn them: trade goods through locations such as Refugee Camp or Infra-Station, as outlined by PowerPyx and Game8.
  5. Purchase Depot Bus I. Return to the AIC Steward and buy the Hub upgrade for 5,000 Valley Stock Bills. This is the quest’s purchase objective, separate from researching the technology.
  6. Read Fiona’s follow-up. Open the Baker again and read Fiona’s new message to finish AIC Steward.

Researching the node is not the same as buying the upgrade

The Factory Plan is where you research Depot Bus; the AIC Steward is where you spend Valley Stock Bills on Depot Bus I for the Hub. Both actions are required for the described quest sequence. If you have researched the node but the mission is still active, return to the Steward and check whether Depot Bus I remains unpurchased.

What Depot Bus does

The END Wiki factory tutorial says, “The Depot Bus uses Depot Loaders and Depot Unloaders to move items into and out of the Depot.” Place a Depot Unloader beside the bus and connect it to a transport belt to take the selected item out of the Depot. Feed items along a belt into a Depot Loader to store them. Loaders and unloaders can be placed alongside the bus.

Valley Hub and Wuling upgrades are different

The 5,000 Valley Stock Bills purchase is for Depot Bus I at the Valley Hub. It is not the later Wuling regional unlock. The community-maintained Endfield Talos Wiki lists Wuling Depot Bus at 10,000 Wuling Stock Bills, with separate Wuling section and port upgrades at additional costs. These are distinct regional upgrades and use different currencies.

Quest rewards

Game8 lists the AIC Steward mission rewards as 2,900 T-Creds, 50 Oroberyl, 12 Intermediate Combat Records, 9 Arms INSP Kits, and 200 Operational EXP. These are guide-reported in-game rewards; check the quest screen for the current values if a later update changes them. Game8
