The Planting Unit is an AIC facility for producing eligible crops from seeds. In the Buckflower simulation, connect a Seed-Picking Unit to a Planting Unit, then route the harvest to the Depot and Shredding Unit. It is not the route for every plant: some crops use Eco-Farming plots instead.

What the Planting Unit does

The Planting Unit is an AIC cultivating facility for common plants and crops. The community-maintained Planting Unit wiki page lists its power use as 20 and its unlock requirement as Basic AIC II – Planting. Treat those figures as in-game facility details, and check the current facility screen for version-specific changes.

The basic production loop needs a seed supply from a Seed-Picking Unit and a destination for the plants the Planting Unit produces. Add downstream processing only when you need a particular product.

Buckflower simulation: connect the units

This layout follows the Buckflower simulation walkthrough; it is not a universal blueprint for every crop or factory. The scenario starts with Buckwheat in the PAC Output Port and asks for Buck Capsule [C] as well as Buckflower Powder.

  1. Connect a Transport Belt from the PAC Output Port to the Seed-Picking Unit carrying the Buckwheat.
  2. Connect the Seed-Picking Unit to a Planting Unit so the picked seeds feed planting.
  3. Route the Planting Unit’s output back to the Depot.
  4. Connect Planting Unit output to a Shredding Unit to make Buckflower Powder.
  5. For the bonus objective, place a second Planting Unit and connect the Seed-Picking Unit to it. The walkthrough says Buckwheat yields two seeds per plant in this scenario.

Follow the simulation’s requested destinations and objectives: surplus output, processing requirements, or crop behavior may differ in other AIC setups. See the GameWith Buckflower simulation walkthrough for the scenario solution.

When to use Eco-Farming plots instead

Some plants cannot be processed by the Seed-Picking Unit or Planting Unit and instead require plots in Eco-Farming. A community-maintained Eco-Farming wiki page identifies the Originium Science Park and the Agricultural Test Site in Wuling City as plot locations. Because crop eligibility and location details can change, confirm them in the live game before planning around a specific plant.

Choose a route by checking crop eligibility first. Use AIC planting when the crop supports the seed-and-plant production loop and you want repeat production; use Eco-Farming when the crop requires plots. Then account for the region and facilities available, plus where surplus or processed output needs to go. The available information does not establish one best layout for every crop or region.

Farming interface changes announced for October 15, 2026

On October 7, 2026, the Arknights: Endfield Team announced that the Sanctuary of Ink version was scheduled to launch on October 15. The announcement describes changes to farming areas: Top View mode, plots placeable tightly together without spacing restrictions, fertilization options including operator assistance, and an Auto-Farmer for germination and harvest in specified farms as story progress allows.

The Auto-Farmer is unlocked through the side mission “A Painting Open for Business” for germinating and harvesting in Si’s Painting; the announcement says it also becomes available in Wuling City’s farming area as the story progresses. These are announced features, not confirmation that they are live on October 8, 2026. Check the in-game farming interface after rollout. Read the official Arknights: Endfield Team DEV Comm for the announcement.
