What did EA acknowledge?
In an EA-hosted technical-issues thread, community manager EA_Leeuw shared a notice about PC performance following the Season 3 update. The team said its changes were intended to improve performance by allowing better CPU utilization, while also noting reports that full CPU load was associated with reduced game stability. That acknowledgment concerns PC and the Season 3 update specifically. It does not establish how common the reports were, which hardware configurations were affected, or whether a later patch resolved them. The “100%” wording appears in a player’s thread subject; it is not a published statistic about Battlefield 2042 players generally.
What workaround did EA suggest?
EA_Leeuw suggested increasing in-game visual quality and resolution so some workload could move from the CPU to the GPU. The advice was to experiment with settings for the individual system, not to apply one setting universally. Raising resolution or visual quality can make the game more demanding of the GPU, so the tradeoff depends on the player’s hardware and performance goals.

“As the game is now better optimized to draw resources from the CPU, if you notice throttling then try increasing your in-game visual quality settings and resolution to instead switch some of that load over to your GPU. Does this mean the issue is fixed—or still happening?
The forum reply documents what EA acknowledged and recommended at the time. It does not confirm a permanent fix, describe the state of later versions, or show that the same problem affects every PC. If you are seeing high CPU use now, the historical post alone cannot establish that your symptoms have the same cause; it only provides EA’s then-current explanation and suggested settings adjustment.
